Just as expected bib. Twist the truth to suit your delicate little mind. You can claim all you want but where is your proof.
Come on bib answer the questions. Has an Ashland coach been suspended by the KHSAA for lying about where one of their players lived? Who has that happened to?

Pulp, your post brings back some of my fondest memories. I have watched this group of young men mature and develop into a very special team. I look forward to watching how this game plays out Friday. It is my prayer that both sides play clean and injury free game.

That shows how deep that 2006 team was to our program and community.

JC fans, travel safely this Friday. Expecting the stadium to be packed. As an Ashland fan, I am really impressed with the JC team. Not many weaknesses. Your offensive guards and right tackle are outstanding. The offense does a great job blocking down field and creating opportunities for your RBs. QB makes good decisions. Defense is aggressive. I like your defensive ends too. Has Mr. Pack picked up any offers yet? Hope so. Would love to see him land a big D-1 offer. Looking forward to a great game with no injuries.

This is what the field will look like after all the tears Ashland will cry this Friday night.
Pulp, I'm not sure you are aware of this or not. We put in a new drainage system. As such, any tears should be diverted away rather effectively and efficiently.

It's too bad this game isn't more attention than it is from state wide media.
We as fans can't be impartial. So let's TRY and discuss what positions each team has.

Pulp, to your question of trying to be objective, I will give it a shot.
Your QB is very good. He makes good decisions. He runs better than he throws, but that is no knock on him at all. Your guards are tremendous and the real key to the offense in my opinion. Receivers are good blockers, but I don't have enough of a feeling as to their catching ability or ability to get open against decent coverage. Kicker is outstanding and can be game changing. The DEs are quality players and don't over pursue. DBs are solid in coverage. No glaring weaknesses. I think you are better than last year, and I thought last year was a very good team.
All the nonsense aside, I really believe these two teams will end up playing each other twice. I think it will be hard for the winning team to win a second time.
Good luck and safe travels.

Quarterback:
O-Line:
WR's/TE's:
TB's:
D-Line:
LB's:
DB's:
Special Teams:
Here is my shot at being objective......
Quarterback: JC (Workman has good feet and good arm strength/accuracy)
O-Line: I don't know enough about Ashland to say JC is better, but JC has a good O-Line.
WR's/TE's: As far as run blocking goes, I have to say JC. Pass catching... I don't know enough about Ashland to say JC is better.
TB's: Baker is the best TB in the state. JC has the better 'stable' of backs.
D-Line: 2 All-State wrestlers (The King Brothers) on the D-Line give JC the edge.
LB's: Don't know enough about Ashland's LB's to say they are better than JC's.
DB's: JC
Special Teams: JC..... No question.
If I was Ashland, I wouldn't hang my hat on Baker beating JC running the football. He will get A LOT of touches, how many of those he breaks for 1st downs or touchdowns.... we will have to wait and see.
Matney has been the Kryptonite for Ashland running backs..... if I'm not mistaken, I think one of his Sheldon Clark teams held Arliss Beech to his career low rushing total at 'The Rock'

What are the odds that the big field on the home side is muddy????
That field would be muddy in a drought.

Park at the Grace Church of the Nazarene down on the corner of 29th and Blackburn. It will only cost you a small donation, I usually pony up $5.

Thanks for putting something out there worth discussing Pulp. Let me get past the above statement which is a painful truth. Matney seems to always have Ashland's number.
As for my assessment of the two:
Quarterback: Central
O-Line: Central but very close
WR's/TE's: WR Central (Cats don’t light it up) TE Ashland
TB's: Ashland (and it's not just Baker)
D-Line: Tie (just going on what I typically expect from a JC team)
LB's: Ashland but close
DB's: Slight edge to Central but again close if Baker goes both ways
Really looking forward to seeing how the Tomcats rise to this challenge. Not sure who mentioned it already, but it's going to be hard for either team to duplicate nearly back to back wins against the other in a single season.
Hope we all enjoy an exciting game.

I can safely assure you the odds are nil either side will be muddy this Friday. Before the stadium renovations though, you are spot on about the drainage issues. I can remember several times being there trying to get water pumped off the field before a game.

JC and Ashland both have good teams this year. I just think JC is on a different level of good than Ashland.
JC 42
Ashland 21 (1 td against JV)
I also think if they meet again in the playoffs it will be the same outcome.
Good luck to both on an injury free game.
