Great thread by some true football lovers. I wish we were open this week so I could come see the clash. At this point my lean is toward PCC. I just think they have so many playmakers who make that passing attack work they will be tough to stop.
That said - I don't think anybody knows how good Rock is at this point. Everybody criticizes the weak schedule but the flip side of that is they could have beaten some of those teams by much more than they did - so how good are they?
One thing is certain; come Saturday morning we will know.

If any Rock or Perry coaches or players are reading this, PLEASE play a clean game, no matter what. Keep the hits to clean ones and the sportsmanship in full bloom. These two teams are good enough to have a great fight on the field, do not need a real one off of it.
I played during those times and I never remember any fighting during the games, we only fought with Knox Central in 2004 (hell of a riot that was). I don't see why there would be a fight between Rock/PCC back then anyways, we always got the shit beat out of us, but we didn't quit.
On to the game, this one presents a lot of match up problems for both Rock and PCC and it will be interesting to see how each coaching staff adjusts. Perry's D-Line will have to play well and try to neutralize the big boys from Rock up front, and Rock will have to be able to effectively pressure Kyle Huff while adequately covering Beatty, Pray and White. I figure whichever team does better at those things will win. I'm actually gonna have to side with Rock on the schedule ordeal, it doesn't make a huge difference, Rock is 5-0 and has a lot of confidence, so does Perry. One thing I do think that may pose a problem for Rock is that since Rock always gets up big in their games, they pull their starters. Has Rock's starters ever remained in an entire game? Will they be well enough conditioned to go 4 full quarters against PCC?
I guess compared to the rest of the PCC fans, I am a prude. But I will definitely have the smallest plate of crow IF we were to lose. Hope for a hard fought and injury-free game for both sides. GO COMMODORES.

5A #9 pcc vs 3A #15 lawrence county- 48-21
5A #9 pcc vs 3A #19 sheldon clark- 48-14
Schedules actually look kinda even according to the rankings, whats funny is that in 5A rankings, the have a 1-3 pulaski county team at #8, and a 5-0 pcc team at #9. thats some cold hard facts for you hahaha...
Rock- 28
pcc- 7
Obviously you should find some more accurate rankings.

If my sources are correct only one ref on the entire crew lives in Perry Co. but he is a new official that actually works out of state. So his Perry co ties are not strong at all. When you have a 14th region crew and none are from Perry Co thats saying someone put a lot of thought into the assignments this week.
Looks like it will actually be decided by the players. lets remember that no matter what the scoreboard reads at the end of the game Friday night.
good, so if rock loses then there goes that excuse

Rock has had two less than impressive seasons the last two years.
I said BEFORE this season they were gonna be one of the toughest teams in the mountains, and they are.

ROCK wins by 3 tds. pcc wont stop the physical and strong offence.

hell im gone for one day and this thread blows up and Whitley hatin is being passed around like avitar pics on this site.
I will eat crow if Rock loses but ive not been as hardcore about Rock winning as some of the PCC fans have been about PCC winning.
Rock is A LOT better than some people are giving them credit for. Whitley is way down this year but Russell county, Bell, and Rock are 3 of the toughest teams around. IMHO, Rock looked a lot better against Whitley than Bell did.
Ive been saying Rock could potentially go 10-0 since the beggining of the year and if they get past PCC and Russell, i could honestly see it happening.

we need to look into getting that changed by Friday.
Yea, they need a negative sign for PCC's total yardage on friday night.

Does Tony Saylor still coach at Rock?

This will definitely be statement game for whoever wins! IMO, I think Perry Central is the better team and I think they should especially since it will be a home game for them!
Perry Central - 35
Rockcastle Co. - 21

Youd crap if that happened along with every other PCC poster. Funny thing if Rock held them in negative yards than PCC would end up winning 3-0 or something like that. Im not saying it will happen friday, but passing teams in high school football usually get sacked a lot when there outmatched (not the case here as there both pretty even IMO) and end up having negative yards for a game because of sacks.
And Parkey is there coach. Not sure if Saylor still coaches there or not.

Im trying to get a hold of the commish to see if we can play by my rules (see below) this friday.
I think Rock would take that one.

Oh god, that would be miserable. But after that game, we need to have a passing league game.

That was almost the case when Rock played Corbin in 2006, I believe Rock won 2-0 or some insane score like that.

You would be suprised. With Matt Robinson Kegan Robinson and Bryan Rankin Perry could run the ball with the best of them, however we just choose to pass.

No you have to understand how serious some people are on here with totally outlandish posts. Im just glad that was not a example of them.

I dont kno what you mean by that. If you are hinting at Perry losing well then thats just not going to happen now. However it all depends on how the teams ahead of Perry plays in order for them to move up.
09-20-2011, 01:34 AM
The AP is likely to move us out of the top 10 all together even if we go 10-0 just because we are an EKY team, that's what happens when all the voters are from west of I-75 and north of I-64. For an example of this, see Harlan County's gradual fall down the rankings for no good reason.

You hit the nail on the head with this post. people get way to "excited" for there team and think that there team is the best when really there team is not.
Whitley for example has had some great teams in the past and weve roughed up on PCC the last few years, but do i think we will beat pcc this year? No. And a lot of people cant admit that they think there team will lose when really the they know they will.

i want to ask, how can that one boy can play at PCC. because the other school he couldn't make the grade. that is way he have to find another school to play at. i forgot PCC give grade to there players.
