Preparation and dedication and believing in yourselves, I believe, is the key to a successful 2010 season. And, don't let the skeptics dissuade you, for everyone has an opinion, for whatever that's worth.

Yes. Hager is negotiating the game against Louisville Male it will be played at a Central location such as Morehead State.

What a game to start of the year if everything gets worked out for it.
idk about that male game. they dont want to play them. i seen them play last season and all sc would be doing is risking injuries that could hurt them in the long run.. dont do it hager, go get a WV team and beat up on them.

We don't want an easy game. We saw how easy schedules prepared us for games in the past. If we didn't have the tough schedule that we did last year then i doubt we would've been able to come back late in the game and win.

Hey bro, how many games did you all play this season that weren't against Belfry? Any?

Haha.. messing with you.

I agree that good competition is essential but I have to question SC playing a 6A team. Will the pluses outweigh the minuses? Possibly it would be better to play a nine game schedule if a suitable opponent can not be found.

The above is my thought re Louisville Male but maybe I'm missing something. I do not want to second guess the coaching staff, for I am sure they most definitely know many things about the situation that I do not.

You don't have to worry about Louisville Male, now; I just heard that SC will play Martha Lane Collins August 21. This game is away. I received this information from a reliable source, who had talked with Coach Hager.

Collins, so I've heard, will be very solid, for they will have experienced players and coaches, even though they are a new school. Moreover, they will be a 4A program.

I do not like the fact that SC has to travel so far, but with Shelby Valley bailing so late, Coach Hager didn't have many options. As I understand the situation, the Pike County Superintendent quashed the deal. (late in the game, albeit)

However, one must deal with what is happening, not what one wishes would happen. I, for one, think, SC will do fine. A good tough schedule will pay huge dividends when they get to the play-offs.

With the talent SC is returning, especially with the experience and speed I believe Coach Hager will "open up" a little more in 2010. Hey, I'm just guessing and thinking what I would if I were the coach. We shall see!
Collins will be a great test for the Cardinals right out of the gate but its good to see Hager playing a tough schedule because it prepare his team for the post season and that is where things matter the most. Counting down the days until start of practice July 15. Go Cards and A Ray.

I agree that SC is returning a lot of experience and speed, and I think they will do well. Moreover, playing a tough schedule will definitely help them be well prepared for the play-offs.

They bring to fore experienced, strong, and aggressive linemen; they also are returning some speedy backs with experience. Moreover, I have heard that some of the backs can bench as much as the linemen. (this could be just a rumor but I don't think so)

Having said the above, I must offer a caveat: The games are won on the field and things must come together to achieve that coveted successful season. Good luck, Cards!
I think maybe SC will present a little different "look" in 2010. It's very early to speculate but this may happen, or it may not. We will see come August 21.

Best of luck in the 2010 season. "Luck is achieved by being prepared and dedicated." We wish Coach Hager and the Cards the best for the ensuing season.
Theres a big rumor in Louisa, That avery ray is transferring to Lawrence County....I just want to know is there any truth to this?

I seriously doubt that, I'm pretty close with him and I haven't heard anything about it.
Skyles posted fastest time, at Marshall University football camp on saturday, with a 4.44 in the 40 yard dash.

Great speed. Should be fun to watch this season.
Big Five-0- Wrote:Great speed. Should be fun to watch this season.

Yes, SC should by fun to watch in 2010. Not only do they return Skyles, but Ray, Moore, Stepp, Chapman, Crum, Smith, Sloan, and a host of others that can do a very good job. Look forward to watching the team this coming season. Oh, I would add O'Connor and Lafferty to this group.

Best of luck to Coach Hager and the Cards!
No im not headed to LC. I love everything about Sheldon Clark. And no excuses for the LC lose but guys come on we worked our butts off for JC that week haha.
monster_energy Wrote:UM i know coach hager knows what he is doing!!
If your happy with getting to the region championship or semifinals then keep him at your qb because you never will win state unless something changes at the qb postion. i'am not saying to bench him i am just saying if he dont improve it should be looked at.
OH yeah since this thread is about SC 2010 i guess i should point out that the CRUM kid Got kicked out of that last game and he will be missing the first game of the season. to bad he didnt keep his head lol it sucks he has to miss his first game of his senior year! BUMMER Confusedhh:
oh yeah for the 100th time if you dont like my opinions dont read them!!

:ChairHit:

Cards are a very physical and athletic team.
backfield and corners wont be to hard to fill they still have players to be placed in these areas. i say they make it as far as they did last year at least.

Well they better get ready starting now for JCHS. As far as last year even a squirrel finds a nut every now and then. Congrats now lets move on.
Let's see, Johnson Central is a 5A school; Sheldon Clark is 3A by a small margin, so I hear. Should SC play JC? I wonder if they have the depth to hang in there?

We did move on. We have a regional championship to prove it. :] What does LC or JC have??
Id like to see Sheldon Clark get past the 1st round in class 4 or 5A

the rock? you mean big nice turf field now.
Real Badman Wrote:Id like to see Sheldon Clark get past the 1st round in class 4 or 5A

Maybe they wouldn't, but that's one thing they don't have to worry about, for they are 3A, and are very close to being 2A, so I have heard.
I've been reading the posts on BGR for a short while and am impressed with the passion of some. That's a good thing! And expressing one's opinion is fine; it's the American way. However, always remember, everyone has an opinion, whether expressed or not.

Quite impressive! Will he be a senor this season (2010)?
