District 8 toughest in the state! Mason close to a lock to final 4 every year without having to play Breathitt, SC, Pike Central, Lawrence and Belfry.
#5
Districts 5 and 7 look to be the weakest, with District 8 the toughest.
#6
8 will be a war. Bell will Waltz.
#7
District 8 is going to be interesting, poor East Ridge.
#8
quick question, will districts 1-4 play each other and 5-8 play each other to see who gets to the finals? is that how they divide the districts?
#9
Not sure how they will do it. Bell is district 4 which would put them in the west traditionally?

I was wondering about that as well....
#11
Bell is in the West... How??? They will be playing Central every year for the Regional Championship...
#12
Looks like a really easy District for Bell County!

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON
#13
if bell is in the "west" there will be some long travel games when the playoffs come around.
#14
3A District 8 will be perhaps the most competitive district in the entire state. If Chapman continues to do what is expected at PC you could legitimately see 4 of the Top 8 teams in 3A consistently come from this district.
#15
Wow !! District 8 is really tough!
#16
District 2 and 5 are absolute jokes, there is not a single team in each that would make the playoffs in District 8 if they were playing this season with this current alignment.
#17
casey county gets h*u*n*g* out to dry they are on the west side of I-65 near bowling green yet is in the same district as bell and corbin. looks like they were left out and they just dumped them somewhere.

It appears it would be set up this way....

I'll be honest, I am quite disappointed we won't get to see Bell/Belfry unless it is the State Finals.

Yep. That's usually the way it goes..
#20
does that mean bell and corbin are no longer mountain teams? they play in the west region. or does that mean we could have an all mountain team state finals...

The latter.... unless you want to be kicked out of the WYMT Coverage area

Bell will be traveling if they make it to Central for the Region and Paducah or Ft. Campbell for the Semi's. That is crazy. Would Bourbon and Estill district not be closer to Louisville and Western Ky than Bell and Corbin????
#23
that would be my thought as well, district 4&5 should have been switched.

Closer to Louisville and Lex for sure...furthermore...

Paducah to Pineville= 5 hours, 48 min
Paducah to Corbin= 5 hours, 16 min
Paducah to Liberty= 4 hours, 18 min
Paducah to Whitley City= 4 hours, 52 min
Paducah to Monticello= 4 hours, 46 min
AVERAGE= 5 hours even

Paducah to Irvine= 5 hours, 20 min
Paducah to Stanton= 4 hours, 54 minutes
Paducah to Owingsville= 4 hours, 56 minutes
Paducah to Paris= 4 hours, 35 min
Paducah to Lancaster= 4 hours, 23 min
AVERAGE= 4 hours, 50 min

If they would have switched Garrard County with Bell how would you all have felt? IMO, there is no reason why Casey and Garrard should be split into seperate semi-states.

Maybe they will? This is just a draft. I can't see Bell being in the far SE corner of the state traveling to Paducah in the far SW corner of the state for a Semi game?

Regardless Bell should not be a part of the western alignment. That destroys in future rivalry games in district. I don't like this alignment at all. I don't know what the better solution would be, but you don't take the powerhouse of the east.

District 8 is going to be insanely good next fall.

.

Using this same data if we throw out the high and low for each:

Bell's District= 4:58
Estill's District= 4:48
#29
dont guess that there is a map of kentucky that shows the locations of these schools on it.

Just throwing it out there and there will be argument's as to why it shouldn't be done like this as well but I would take Bourbon-Garrard and switch with Bell-Corbin in their districts.
