PCC easily

Hope Phelps is getting handsome cash from the Bowl in exchange for the four quarters they have to endure.

A better prediction thread is how many pass completions will it take Boggs fr his team to reach 50 points.

I say 9.

This isn't even going to be close. It's an embarrassing game, to be honest, for the PCB. I say PCC 58 Phelps 7 by benefit of a TD in the 4th qtr against the 3rd string JV of PCC.

Pike Central by a ton 60-6

I have said and posted for a long time the Pike County Bowl needs to redo their format.
None of the schools in Pike County should be playing against each other in this bowl game.

Central 63-6.

Why doesnt pikeville go after some heavy hitters to play in this game they have in the past also does pike central ever host this bowl if not why not?
#16
The committee tries to get the best teams but with so many other bowl games it is harder and harder to get real powerhouse teams. Answer to the second question is the facilities at PCC are OK but not great and you need a different type of pressbox to accomodate the media and all the auxillary staff that are there.

never been to pike central only driving by thanks for the info.......

You are welcome. It is a really great location and the parking is plenty good enough. IMO, if you could expand the pressbox and knock the walls out that make little cubicles inside then it would be a much nicer facility.

Pikeville and the committee continually seek out good programs. This year, Franklin County left everyone hanging by breaking their contract. PHS was scheduled to play Harrison County, but switched and let Belfry have them and sought out another team. At such a late notice, Tellico Plains was the best they could do. We look forward to being great hosts for the out of state team and are happy they agreed to travel here.

Also, in regards to why Pike Central hasn't hosted, I suspect it has a lot to do with the fact they don't have a turf field, which lessens the chance of a rain out, in addition to the other stuff mentioned here about a press box, etc. That's definitely something PHS could/should upgrade as well. I think plans are in place for an upgrade there at the facility, but it may be a couple more years before it takes place.

PHS needs a bigger press box. The fact that it was upgraded just 7 years ago is sad. It should have been HUGE. with 2-3 press rows and more room for tables and refreshment ares and larger space up top. Hopefully, this will be accomplished sooner rather than later.

I am a Pike Central homer as we all know but this post goes out to the Phelps players. I know you guys see the scores posted above but do not get down about it. Who cares if you lose by 70? Just go out and have fun football is fun. 20 years down the road you kids won't remember getting beat or beating someone you will remember having fun. For the Phelps seniors this your last PCB so enjoy it have the time of your life. Just remember these days your in now are the best you'll ever have so live the moment and let your hair down put a smile on and have fun in Friday nights game.

Well hopefully Phelps will have a learning experience from this game because, as bad as I hate to say it, it is going to be a blowout. I do think that Phelps is good enough to keep it from being s shutout but I don't see them scoring more than once. Would love to see the Phelps players prove me wrong. Good Luck Hornets!!

Pike Co. Central - 56

Phelps - 7

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON
#28
I think that they should switch Pikeville with Pike Central and let them bring a out of county team. I know that will never happen but it is ridculious for PCC to play Phelps in a bowl game. It is a lose lose situation, PCC is not going to benfit because their starters may get to play for two quarters. Phelps is really going to hurt their pride, numbers,(meaning they may have kids quit after getting beat so bad)mojo. I don't think Chapman will beat them that bad.

Will Coach Chapman be on the sidelines when the Hornets shock the hawks?
