i also have alot of respect for p'burg they are always tough and although lc played ok and did win they better bring it this week. the stupid penalties you can't give p'burg any help. i never can go against lc though even if they played an nfl team. i will take lc in a close, close game.

P-burg wins 35-13.

Perry will destroy them. Lawrence Co. has always been overrated. We've all heard their fans talk about how they couldn't wait to get a chance to play Prestonsburg since they knew they would beat P-burg. Well, now's their chance, and I'm sure they will fall flat on their face, just like they always do when playing the Blackcats.

Since when did the fans determine how good a team is?? Seems to me like someone is jealous.

Cat Daddy Wrote:Preseason Mountain Polls indicated that Lawrence County was ranked anywhere from 8-10. That is what I meant by being overated, due to the fact they haven't lived up to thier hype.

Preseason polls are usually made up from what a team did the year before. Ashland is the only real competition LC has faced so far and they were down to the #3 RB on the depth chart and missing a vital piece to there D in Wellman. So after 2 games, how can you determine that a team is overated?? Don't let jealousy get the best of ya!!

Prestonsburg 29-21.

Jealous of what? A team that is in contention year in and year out versus a team that's pretenders every year? Yep, I'm jealous. :eyeroll:

If you weren't then why you would continue to put the program down every chance you get?? And the last time I checked, Prestonsburg has NOT done anything more than LC, so what makes them a superior opponent?? I'm a LC fan obviously but I don't see how we get so high of expectations every year when we haven't done anything in the post season to get the attention that we do??

Since 2000 Prestonsburg has won their district 6 times, won region 3 times and been to the state championship game.

We're always ranked in the AA top 10, either by the AP or coaches polls and usually in the WYMT Mountain Top 10.

I will never down or doubt Lawrence County football, because they have as much tradition as Prestonsburg, but Prestonsburg has been far superior in the last decade.

You obviously haven't been on here long enough to watch the Lawrence Co. faithful dog Prestonsburg throughout the past few years. Not sure why they do it, but it's been BAD.

I always love watching these two teams play, very simliar in a way that they both hit hard and are very aggressive. Should be a dandy of a ball game. Best of luck to both teams, and may it be a clean hard hitting game.... Go Dawgs

Prestonsburg will win this one. Nothing again Lawrence but they will not come away with a win in this one.

2003 did not make the playoffs with a 7-3 record was the year boyd upset bell in the first round.that was the year mason co. was 1 ashland 2 and sheldon clark i believe was 3
then from 2004 till 2009 only made playoffs because only 4 district teams thats how bad it had been.

BlackcatAlum Wrote:I don't know about all that.

Since 2003 Ashland has only blown out Prestonsburg once, in '05 55-9, that was a rough year for Prestonsburg, who everyone thought was the favorite to win class AA going into the season. Very overrated team!

Other than that loss Prestonsburg won 1 of the 4 matchups including a loss at Putnam in the final minutes on what was one of the craziest high school plays I've ever witnessed. Prestonsburg looked like they were going to pick off the pass and seal the game up and the defensive back tipped the ball and the Ashland receiver scored the game winning touchdown.

I know Ashland is one of the more tradition rich programs in the state, however they really haven't accomplished anything in over a decade.

Just curious as to how many times Ashland and Prestonsburg has played since 2003?

Ive only lived here for 2 years, so I wasn't sure, just knew it wasnt either of those years. Didn't realize we had played them that many times, as I was away in college and etc, wasn't able to keep up like i wanted to.
#56
I wonder if the boys that got suspended from Prestonsburg, will be playing this week?
#57
I'd say Lawrence will struggle with Pburg. Hope the Dawgs prove me wrong though. Probably a similar score as the Sheldon Clark game. Lawrence County can be a contender in the playoffs by seasons end but to much inexperience against a good team this early in the season.

What players for Prestonsburg got suspended and why? Why is everyone saying Lawrence is unexperienced and young, lol? They have 14 seniors and Pburg only has 9 Sr and 9 JR most of their players 23 are freshman..

Jealousy, are you serious! I am not making this a Breathitt/Lawrence County thread. Prestonsburg rolls in this match up.
