Best player you have watched this season

Bear_Paw Wrote:He doesn't have jets...he has rocket boosters....with no leaks in the O-Rings I might add. I have watched Davenport for years and until last night he was the fastest player I had seen. Harris is faster...much faster. He has another gear he finds in open field. I never thought I would ever say that, however I question whether he has anywhere near the durability of Davenport. He clearly does not like to get hit and I saw the ball moving around quite a bit as he handled it.

He was playing out of position at QB. Our QB was hurt and didn't play. He is a all round player, RB/DB , punt return and now filling in at QB. Running the ball is what he does best.

Matt Robinson (Perry Central)

I have been preaching this for a while now. I did not go to Estill Co. this week because I couldnt miss the Trinity v. St X game, but I heard he put up some crazy numbers.

It goes without saying that he does not play against the same competition as the other players in this conversation. But I travel around this state watching high profile players/teams every Friday, and I can honestly say I have not seen another back on his level. There is just something about the kid, he has D1 speed, D1 quickness, a D1 build, D1 vision and seems to be a very humble young man (never celebrates or taunts).

I doubt I'll get to see him play again this year because of some of the bigger games coming up, but if you get a chance you need to check this kid out.

Oh yeah .... he is only a junior.

Ryan Timmons - Franklin County

Logan Woodside - Franklin County

Ryan Timmons can see the feild better than anyone I have seen this year, he is only a jr.

Logan Woodside QB is doing really wel now that he has gotten a chance to try out and play QB

... and he isn't even playing football in college. Seems odd that he gave up football to play basketball @ Oklahoma St. I guess UK is settling for chump change in getting its oral commitment from Towles.

Marcus McMillan, HARLAN COUNTY
Pokey Harris, GRC
Matt Robinson, PCC
Carson Whitehead, HARLAN COUNTY

It's probably best to have a best at each position.

After all, this site is known for it's unusual thread titles... such as the best free safety from the mountains who was held back in 3rd grade... or the best junior fullback from Western Kentucky, etc...

Quick is an amazing talent at WR, Towles has the best arm in all of Ky, no offense to Mr. Wing from Rowan County. Towles can make all the throws.

even though stephen williamson has been nursing an ankle injury he rushed for over a 1000 yards in 3 games...if he was healthy he would be well over 2000 by now
#41
Sawyer Williams- Owen Co.
Hopkins- Bourbon Co.
#42
Kyle Bolin-LC
Adam Bush-LC best senior receiver in the state
Cory Davenport- Bell
Jeremy Harness- John Hardin
Zach Hester- Boyle

Jeff Canady - Knox
JJ Jude - Johnson Central
Adam Crisp - Prestonsburg
Ben Lake- Rockcastle County
Codi Diamond - Knox Central
Randy Maynard - Pikeville

These are just teams I have seen in person so far this season. I'm sure the list of impressive players will grow for me as Perry begins it's district slate.

As for players I have seen in person this year (and excluding my home school):

Matthew Robinson, LB, Perry Central.

Belfry AND Hazard's offensive lines (shout out to the big uglies...lol)

Most other teams Prestonsburg has faced has a stable of quality skill players, instead of a single, dominant force. (Belfry, PCC, Hazard). Gotta say I would rather have it that way too...
#53
George Brown - Casey County

PT has only played about 18 quarters this year and has racked up 25 TD's, 1 int, and about 2000 yards. Hard to beat those stats.

He was 14 of 19 with 300 yards and 7 TD's in the first 15 minutes of last night's contest.

Confusednicker: According to MaxPreps, Wing is listed #65, Towles #2.

yeah you are right about patrick towels he is highly recruited player from highlands but they said the best i have seen this year not the best in the state. these 2 guys are d1 players weston little plays 1a and its hard to get recruited from a small school exspecially if he aint got much help which he might hes just a jr with around 1500 yds and 19td in 7 games good player to watch. jude is fast and on his way to possibly break the state record in yards hes already got the state record in one game so havent seen alot of players but with out a doubt best ive seen in the mountains this year
#58
Brooks the linebacker from Collins and Zach Evans from North Oldham are the best I've seen in person this year.
#59
Against-Derrick Henry. The kid is awesome.
For-Marcell Harris he's a big time safety and will be a 5 star safety next year
#60
Michael Brooks from Martha Layne Collins High - Does it all, Stat sheet stuffer.
