Hazard Commodores
#1
Someone sent me a IM and ask me what I would think if Hazard and Perry Central were to ever come together to make one school. Personally I would HATE it but this would be a nice looking football team this year....

No player plays both ways:

QB - Kyle Huff/Evan Whitaker - could use both in different packages
RB - Zach Blanton (Hazard)
FB - Brandon Jones (Hazard)
WR - Jordan Olinger (Hazard)
WR - Darryl Beatty (Perry)
WR(Slot) - Austin Johnson (Hazard)
TE - Bj Combs (Hazard)
LT - Jared Deaton (Perry)
LG - Cody Hollan (Perry)
C - Dylan Logan (Hazard)
RG - Zack Miller (Hazard)
RT - Matthew Fields (Hazard)

MLB - Matt Robinson (Perry)
OLB - Kegan Robinson (Perry)
OLD - Josh Meehan (Hazard)
RE - Jordan Hamilton (Hazard)
DT - Ryan Whitaker (Hazard)
DT - Joey Sams (Perry)
LE - Deion Harris (Hazard)
CB - Nathan Higgins (Hazard)
CB - Austin Pray (Perry)
SS - Brian Rankin (Perry)
FS - Jay White (Perry)

K - Eric Mason (Hazard)

Head Coach - Mark Dixon (Hazard)
Assist Coach - Justin Haddix (Perry) - O Cord.
Assist Coach - Chuck Fugate (Hazard) - D. Cord.

Ditto!

Good looking team. I would make a few changes here and there but overall, that is a strong team.
#4
It may happen, you never know.....When Perry first opened they had gold as one of their colors in the event Hazard consolidated with the county.

The football team would be solid but they might have to play in 6A. I think the baseball team would be the biggest benefactor. In most years you would have 5-6 solid starters. That would be huge come playoff time, with the pitching rules and back to back games.

I'd move Cody Hollan to defense.
And Joey Sams doesn't play anymore.

why is more then half of this made up starting roster is all hazard players? coming from a hazard fan this dont surprise me lol.
but this would be awesome. it will never happen.. at least not in our lifetime anyway.

i would still rotate the whole roster though except the QB spot, i would make the two qbs fight for their spot as the starter. But both teams has tremendous skill players, and with that much speed and dept why not rotate? instead of wasting O and D talent like that by not rotating. This team, and these schools combined along with both fan bases as a whole would be ungodly talented and pure hell raisers year in and year out.

i think it will happen one day, but not anytime soon what so ever. Perry Central is not that old anyway.

:eyeroll: might win a few games, but they would struggle on a wet field.

Rock beat PCC, we got that memo. Thanks.

Hazard and PCC will never combine in my lifetime, too much pride involved for each side.

Perry co has a lot of talent is each sport with Hazard and Perry Central. I would hate it to myself but it would be SCARY to see.
#10
man it would be something to watch lol, SPEEEEEEEEEED!
#11
They would still be a 5A school even if they consolidated. PerryCC is a small 5A school, that would make them a mid-large to large 5A school.

I know that Hazard is a 1A school, so I wonder if all of those players could play 5A ball? I'm sure they can, but it is a legit question.

Also, RockSolid69's comment is based on the fact that there are some PerryCC fans that wont let it go that Rock won and is the better team, they still blame the field.

for a week or so PCC mascot wasn't commodores, the first SR class vote for the rebels. they change it because, at the time they was thinking that hazard would joining them. so they went to the 2nd most.
So yes PCC colors was red, black, gold, and white.
#13
I dont think your right about Rebels. The original mascot was the Wolf Pack. Perry Centrals very first football pants had a wolves head on them. Later a PC patch was sewn over them. I actually still have a pair of them.
#14
^ It was the wolfpack. I still wish it was.
#15
^Amen lol

What else would you expect from Eastern Kentucky Firefighter?

If I made my roster it would pretty much be 80% Perry players going both ways.

Would anyone expect any different from me? Wink

I have a pair of them as well, I was really amused when the PC peeled off and a big wolf was under that patch. Some of those pants are still in use, 16 years later.

I am a fan both Hazard and Perry Central, I cheer for both. However, I wouldnt be a fan of this. I love when these two go at it,very entertaining. I do think if this was a team and stayed in 5A district 8, they would win that bottom bracket and play for the state championship.

agreed!!!
#20
there has already been a few threads over the topic of them consolidating
#21
Wolf pack would of been the most awesome thing ever at the time. Think about it, it was just the time when WCW and WWF were having the Monday night wars. Then the NWO became huge, and right behind that the NWO wolfpack. They would of had some awesome tshirts and entrance music. The NWO wolfpack were red and black also.
I get excited just thinking about how much better the pack would of been.
#22
^ Too Sweet!!!!
#23
definitely should change the d tackle spot and its hampton not hamilton
#24
They would be another eastern Kentucky football team!
#25
ok i would like that alot but i would put dylan logan at one of the D-tackles spot and put matthew feilds which is jacob fields at center cause i believe he is the best center in the mountains and probably the best O-lineman in the mountains and put patrick patula from hazard at the other O-tackle spot
#26
Nah, I would call them the Perry Co. Bulldogs.
#27
I went to both schools, so I know how serious this rival is on both sides. Me and my classmates looked forward to the crosstown game night for weeks in advance... Unfortunatley due to (IMO) adults more then the kids they dont get to see what the rivalry used to be. The atmosphere went down hill after the black gold bowl was taken away. Is the ravialry dies peoples strong feelings about these schools consolidating will fade away, and one day down the road it will unfortunatley happen (IMO). That day will be the death of one of the best rival games in the mountains...

#29
5A State Championship written all over it. Not even Bowling Green could withstand this arsenal.
#30
Maybe we should get a game goin....
PCC/Hazard
vs.
Whitley/Corbin/Williamsburg
or
vs. North Laurel/South Laurel
or
vs.
Bell County/Middlesboro/Pineville
