Cov Cath really has impressed. I truly believe if they were on the opposite side of the bracket, they would face HHS in the finals

Those who knew what Cov Cath was capable of were not surprised. I think the only ones surprised were those who said the those of us that did not know how good the Tomcats were.

Congrats CCH! Where was all the"magic" of the stadium? How many yards did Gray have against that monster front four? State championship next week in Ft. Thomas.

They were right...we did not know how good the Tomcats were. However, we DID know how good the Colonels are.

Probably the only time I can remember rooting for Covcath. I knew Hoot Gibson couldn't see through his maroon glasses. Those teams from that district weren't very good this year. Hoot probably won't be around for awhile.

Hoot Gibson was right about Ashland being much improved this season and FYI he has no maroon glasses, Covington Catholic has a classy program and I wish them well for the rest of the playoffs. Ashland had a good season and hopefully will return to playing second fiddle in their district next season.

For the record, the kicker for CCH is Evan Talkers, not Palkers, as listed in the statistical report.
#17
Senior Gabe Grey scored three touchdowns rushed for 170 yards on 14 carries to lead Covington Catholic to a road victory in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

Grey now has 1,768 yards on 204 carries this season.

CovCath out-gained Ashland Paul Blazer by only two yards, 336 to 334, but the Colonels defense forced three turnovers and shut out Paul Blazer until the fourth quarter.

Sophomore linebacker Sam Burchell recorded a team-leading 12 tackles.

Covington Catholic (10-2) will play its second straight road playoff game in a rematch with Highlands (12-0) next Friday night.

I congratulated CC on a great team they have? What else is there to. Say? It's clear the better team won the game the tomcats did a respectable job statistically they were evenly matched. However the on one thing they couldn't match was the trips to the endzone.

Now Hop24 Suck on that. an good luck CC against the birds.

Congrats. cov cath you were everything that was said about you. And what a classy bunch of fans and players we couldn't have asked for better guest. Can't wait to make the trip to highlands next week. Congrats in having a great season tomcats the joy you brought to the community this year will always be remembered

Congrats to Covington Catholic a very impressive team.

Actually, if you read the recap, this game was closer than the score. Sound like Ashland moved the ball well and played decent defense. They were a victim of their turnovers.

Pretty much sums it up you can't turn the ball over against good football teams.

I would say that Ashland lost their cool as well. There were cheap shots everywhere on the field. They ran over the Cov Cath's side lines mouthing off to the coaches and players. At one point a kid from Ashland picked up a CCH player by the legs and slammed him on his head, this happened about 35 yards away from the play. I was upset to see such a thing but glad that Cov Cath kept their cool through the game and didn't do anything stupid. Can't wait for the game next week. It's gonna be an incredible one.

Absolutely no excuse for that! I didn't see the whole thing but saw the end of it an I was very disappointed. Some of the kids let there emotions get the better of them. I saw coach hart an couple other coaches talking to that player an a couple others not sure what all went down but shouldn't have happened, it was a really good game despite the score I never really felt Ashland was out of it til midway through the third.
I hope you guys hang fifty on the birds!

The scary thing about that is that the Birds may put up 125!

I'm assuming ur a bird fan? Didn't they just beat catholic by 4 points reg season? An now there gonna put 125 on them? Catholics defense was incredible looked like they had 15 players out there. Haven't seen highlands but can't imagine them being able to blow catholic out let alone beating them.

Can't imagine them beating them? They beat them already this year, on the road. And for the record, Stardust is no HHS fan, he is a Campbell County fan, but knows good football when he sees it.
