Belfry @ Breathitt Co. 11/18/11
#1
well here we go with diffrent styles of teams, who you got and why?
#2
I've said all year Breathitt would be at the state championship and im not changing now. Breathitt wins 20 to 14.
#3
belfry by 2 TD. The bobcats showed up for the pike central game but this pirate team will come out an play a extremely physical game if the bobcats can compete with the physical play this will be a great game...if not the pirates will win...
#4
I'll take Belfry by a couple of touchdowns.

what hurt PCC with Breahitt,NO running game and 5 turnovers, this will be a battle, got to go with my Pirates by 10 or less..
#6
Breathitt 21
Belfry 14

Could very easily be the other way around.
#7
You have to be a very discipline on defense when you play against a belly team. But I think that the bobcats are up to the challenge. Bobcats are strong up front And I think the bobcats will come away with a victory but not with out an all out war. This will be the best test either team has had al season.
Breathitt-27
Belfry-14

This will be a good match up and i dont think it will be the hardest competition theyve face all season but this competition will be more stressful. Breathitts hardest competiton was hazard and they nearly lost that game. Belfrys hardest competition was ashland as they beat them 6 to nothing. So These will be ready for one another as i would love to attend this game but i already know im working next friday night.

This game will be close. If it is not, it will be a shock.

Ill take belfry by a touchdown, 21-14
#12
Gonna pick Belfry to win in what is going to be a physical and emotional game

It just always seems like every time Belfry and Breathitt plays Belfry is favored and I Know Belfry always fields a very good team but since 94 the bobcats boast a 6-2 record against pirates. They have only been two blow outs in 97 the bobcats blowed out belfry and in 2006 or 2007 belfry blowed out breathitt co. The rested of them were very close.

Belfry and Breathitt always field very competitive teams. I could care less who is favored, it will all be decided on the field and thats what matters, lets just all hope for a good clean, hard hitting, well officiated game. Looks like Belfry and Breathitt both beat Pike Central by a similar score...should be a great game and atmosphere... in the end, if Belfry's defense stays as stout as it has been and our 4 or 5 horse running attack keeps plugging, and we minimize turnovers, I think Belfry leaves Jackson victorious. I can guarantee Trent and Collins wont rush for over 400yards combined on the Pirates.

Pirates in this one! Get em belfry!

I will agree with that comment that it will be decide on the field and I will agree with you on Trent and Collins won't have 400 yards rushing together. But I will disagree that Belfry will walk out of Jackson victorious because the deciding factor will be bobcats air attack, that will win the game our ability to pass because they are going to have to decide(Belfry) if their going to stop the pass or the run and I look for them to try to stop the run it will open the passing game. I'm not saying that Trent will put up big numbers in the passing game but if he puts up 160-200 yds and get 200yds on rushing the bobcats will come away with a win. Should be a good one already have goosebumps.

I'm going to have to take my Bobcats in this one. Both teams are playing excellent ball right now and this is set up to be a collision course of a game. I think this game will be decided by a touchdown or less, might even come down to who capitalizes on their extra point attempts.
#19
Both of the backs for breathitt will have atleast 100 yards a piece in the game but not more than 200. Hard to stop the qb when is he scrambling to make plays because he beats ya on the pass or with his legs.
#20
I can't wait for this one. Both teams know exactly what to expect.
Befry is going to run and work the clock, and Breathitt is gone to spread the field. Two great coach's and tons of talent is going to make for a traditional Belfry vs. Breathitt showdown.
Belfry has a little more talent in the positions were they need it, tons of speed and depth.
Belfry 35
Breathitt 28

What makes you think they won't be defending both? PC tried to pass also, it didn't work for them!

I haven't had the privilege to see Breathitt play this season, but have seen Belfry and Pike Central both play. Belfry was by far the superior team, and if Breathitt can beat them I will be surprised.

However, the game is at Breathitt and they most always play well at home, and this season they obviously have a great team, so any thing can happen this coming Friday night.
#24
These are two very even teams with completely different styles. Will give my take as the week goes.
#25
Bobcats are physical enough to handle Belfry up front, which means
Bobcats win. This contrast in style alwasy coes down to the aforementioned.
When Belfry is too strong up front and can keep BHS off the field , it's
very difficult for BC to win. But when BC CAN physically hold up,
Belfry's style makes it even harder for them to beat BC.

the only people who will be suprised by a BC win, will be Belfry fans,
or people who just aren't paying attention this year.

Belfy better not take us likely cause we will have our guns Blazzing and the thunder of the mountains making thunder everytime we score /// we r going to give the people of Breathitt Co. a huge win and Blow out the Pirates and send Pond Creek Nation Back to South Williamson cring . Pond Creek be afraid u have not played at the river bank and meet all of our Bobcat Nation // this time ur in our house //

The first post made by DSRfan above is pretty close to right on the money.

Belfry will need to control the LOS. If they can't do that, they won't be able to make enough plays to move the ball and score points. This really is always the recipe against Belfry, beat them up front. We shall all see on Friday if Breathitt will manage that task.
#30
If the battle at the LOS is a draw or evenly matched, then the game comes down to two things:

1) limiting turnovers
2) not giving up big plays
