Good Luck to all the Mountain teams still left in their class playoffs...
I can say that full hearted now that, that rival school is gone.
I'd love to go to Bowling Green and watch:
Hazard: 1A
Somerset: 2A
Beathitt or Belfry against Bell County: 3A
Harlan Co.: 5A
That is a great group of football teams to rep the Mountains...
GOOD LUCK TO ALL the rest of the way.

Don't forget Southwestern! If Somerset is considered a mountain school, I guess they are too.

If you are a fan of these teams you need to get out of that easy chair turn off the TV and get out and support these teams.

I never have figured out how Somerset was a mountain school. It is farther west than all of the NoKY schools with the possible exception of Ryle.

/\ most of us from Somerset have always wondered the same thing, but we just do what we're told. haha. Kinda seems like I-75 would about draw the line logically...but we all know logic is hard to find around here

I think it comes from being in the WYMT viewing area. Which would make the Somerset area teams eligible for the Mountain top ten.

Don't forget Powel Co. Which is 14th Region team.

Here's the question: ask the Somerset/SW folks if THEY think
of themselves as "mountain". I'm betting NO carries the vote.

I'm a Southwestern fan and I don't consider the area where I live as a mountain area. The only reason Somerset, Pulaski County, & Southwestern are considered a "mountain" team is because they are in the WYMT viewing area. The same goes for Rockcastle County, too. I don't consider them a mountain area, either, but they are in the WYMT area.

More Mountain in Rockcastle then Pulaski... But if something is wrong with being in the mountain and you Somerset and Southwestern don't want to be consider "Mountain Teams!" Oh well then I won't consider them "Mountain Teams.." I guess Pulaski County is too High-Class to be Mountains...

Don't mind it at all...that's not what we are saying. In fact, I would probably prefer to be a mountain team than not. I like the support the mountain teams movement....I just don't really see any mountains when I look around. haha

GO WILLIAMSBURG.
....And the rest of the mountain teams, except for the one 'rival' school.

If BGR has it's own Rankings and it's own Mountain Top Ten,then, shouldn't BGR set it's own perameters when it comes to clarifying who is a mountain team and who isn't? I thinks so. I think the people who are doing the Mountain Top Ten should start a thread and let poster's plead their cases and then decide on the perameter's. Just a thought. It might shine some clarity on what has been an over analysed subject that has never had an answer other than it goes by the WYMT viewing area. Shoot,WYMT is on in parts of Lexington. Just say'in.

No, I'm saying we are too high-class for the mountains. I'm glad that the 3 local schools are considered a mountain school and get to be in the Mountain Top 10 and have their games featured on Sports Overtime and such. I'm saying being considered a mountain team isn't a bad thing at all...there are just no mountains here. haha But I'm glad to be apart of the mountain football community.

Relax man I'm sure he wasn't take a shot. It's not that we think we are too 'high-class' to be in the mountains. It's a logic thing. When we go outside, we don't see mountains.
