Western at Collins (Class 4A)
#1
Who wins and Why?
#2
Collins wins in a tight game. Home field advantage is big along with the fact that Collins has been playing solid the last 2 months. However, the injury situation is troubling. If the bulk of the players dinged-up last week are available then they should be fine.
#3
I also like Collins in this one.
It helps that Collins lost to Western last year will help. Adds a little extra motivation to the game.

I've heard Western is playing alot better but I just think Collins can out score them. Western won't be able to stop the offense. Good luck to both teams!
#6
I think Collins will fall short to Western again.
#7
I did a little research. Against three common opponents, Collins is 2 - 1, with an average game score of 45 - 17. Western is 1 - 2 with an average game score of 15 - 17.

It sounds like to me, Collins wins if they can get over on Western's D. Western wins if their D can contain Collins O.
#8
Titans homefield has to be factored in as well. I like Collins by 10
#9
I want to say Collins, but they had several injuries last week against Spencer Co.. It all depends how they recover.

I think as long as a few of the injured players are able to recover Collins will be ok. DeAndre Farris is a great player but I think as long as Darian Dugle and Michael Brooks are able to play they can manage to play without him. It should be a great game, just like last years.

I agree. If Western can control Collins offense, I think they can win, but they will have a hard time doing that. Last year Collins was more of a passing team but this year they have a very well balanced offense and can run or pass very well.
#12
Western can't Controll the Collins O..nor their D.
Collins in a blowout...35-14

It's the same story as last year. Collins is the big favorite to win, but i believe The Warriors defense is to strong .Western finally has the whole team healthy and the offense is clicking at the right time.I'll take the Warriors in a close one 20-17!!!
#14
Western 27-26.

Western's defense is giving up 24 points a game on the season. Collins is giving up 12. I think Collins wins the defensive battle buddy. Confusedhh:

That is a fact. I think you and everyone else will find that the Collins D is clicking.

Against three common opponents, both teams gave up an average of 17 points.

Collins offense and defense are also clicking at the right time. I think Western will have a hard time scoring 20 points on Collins, and they will have a hard time holding Collins to 17. However, I do think it will be a very good game.

If you actually look at it most points come off of offensive turnovers while the offense is on the field. Should be a great game PAL but i'm sticking with the Warriors based on the strength of their schedule.

Tommy2tone you should know, wasn't you the guy that crowned Collins 4a CHAMPS before the playoffs started last year!!!

Good point :thanks:
Should be a great game!

Might have been, don't we all do that at the start of the playoffs.
Where are we getting this strength of schedule thing?
yeah western played highlands and got smacked in the mouth. What in the world hapened in that game? Yeah, Male and Ballard are two power houses this year...I will take our SOS and be fine with our 10-2 record.
Whoever is doint the stats and came up with the 17 pts allowed in the 3 common opponents, Please give me the the records of thsoe 3 games and margin of victory...

All you would have had to do was look back a few posts...

Ok sounds like Collins can put more points on the board..
I will stick with my pick..

If you expect your Collins to do any good against any of the east region teams, they better beat Western like a rented mule. Highlands already did and my guess is Boyle, CovCath, and LexCath would do the same.
#26
Hey, I would be happy to play any of those East teams...
That means you you made it to the finals...
#27
I will take Collins in a close one, but would not be surprised if it becomes a blow out....
#28
Take #11 off Collins team they would be an average team, Western finally has everyone healthy for the first time since the start of the season!! Waggener had over 200 yds total offense on Collins and had 14 total yards on Western. N.Oldham averaged 332yds a game and Western shut them down, against Collins they had chances to win the game and moved the ball at will. They just couldnt put in the end zone!! And the Highlands is just a couple steps under Trinity!! I'll take the Warriors like i said before. See ya at the game and goodluck...
#29
The only team Collins has played this year that's still playing is Eastern, compared to Eastern, Central, and the Highlands for Western. There is your SOS!!!!
#30
Check this out.
Collins 58 Waggner 3
Western 28 Waggner 15

We can play numbers game all day long and in the end, Collins wins.
PLUS what happened last year gives Collins another edge. They are still kicking themselves for that game.
Not to mention the game is in Shelbyville and the Nation will come out strong.

Your statement about # 11 proves my point.
He is one of the best in the state.
