Who wins and why?
I'll take GC in this one. The D is absolutely laying the wood and the offense is a well oiled machine. Powell Co. is much improved and playing very well but I don't see them staying with Garrard very long.
Garrard Co. 33
Powell Co. 14

it's gonna be a good game. neither team will win in a blowout. Powell has surprised me as well as some other's so Ima take the Pirates in this one!
Winner of this one will get the Winner of Belfry/Breathitt in the Semi-Finals

Garrard isnt the only team laying the wood on defense either there pal. Powells defense has gotten good again and at the right time just like it was earlier this year. Heard from a friend they laid some hard hits last night and held the hopkins boy to under 100 yards again.

Garrard easy
11-13-2011, 01:51 AM
hopkins had around 40 yards rushing and #20 had about the same. They had a total of around 75 rushing yards.

Garrard Co 50-20

Can someone give us a summary of what Garrard County has?
11-13-2011, 12:46 PM
Garrad has a solid football team but Powell will give them all they want. It will be a different game then last time around. I know Garrad is the favorite but Powell is more than capable of beating them if they play to their potential. Will not be a blow-out, close, close game. Garrad has no more talent than Powell does. I think Garrad over-looks the pirates from the first time around, Powell gets them this time.
Powell 36 Garrad 34
Powell 36 Garrad 34

I have to agree with SlantStrong. Not sure that Powell can pull it off, but remember that teams that run the Belly read offense are better as the year goes on. The weather will have a lot to do with this one. If Powell does not get behind early and forced to throw it, then they could very well win the game. I can really see them pulling it off. I am going to say Powell 24 Garrad 20. Powell controls the clock and the game is finished within 90 minutes.

Looks like a lot of people believe the #4 seed will pull off the upset against the #1 seed.

The Golden Lions will be victorious in this one.

teams. Powell has turned it on as of late. They are looking good. GC is playing better
than I have seen all season. They actually looked like a State Contender against Russell.
They took advantage of mistakes and used their speed in key areas. GC will be going for
the 1st Regional Title in School History so no one will be over looked. GC will try to put it
away early. If Powell can hold early, it will be a long night....

Actual 134 total minus about 27 negative yards by others.
Bourbon 107 rushing yards on the night/ Powell 147 rushing yards.
Not really sure who gives you you're stats.

Garrad County wins by 5 td's. Billy Abney and the passing attack will prove to be too much for Powell Co to handel. :ChairHit:

Powell is on a rags to riches roll of a lifetime. Powell in an upset.

Garrard wins by 28.

Would love to see an All-Pirate semi-state!
Would love to see Coach Kincade get a chance to shake hands with Haywood in a game of such meaning.

That's Coach Kincaid......and yes that would be an exciting moment....I spoke with him after their win Friday and reminded him to tell his boys take it one game, one win at a time.
Powell can win this game and I too would love to see an all Pirate Semi Final game.

From a Belfry Pirate to the Powell Co Pirates good luck and remember to give it your all come Friday night. Hopefully both Belfry and Powell Co will come out on the right side of the score board tomorrow night so we can have a heck of a Turkey Bowl in Stanton next week.
Good luck guys!

We will concentrate on tonight, first. Then we can discuss next week.
But just something For Belfry to ponder over the weekend. Garrard beat Russell 40 - 6;
Ashland Blazer beat Russell 32 - 14; Ashland Blazer gave Belfry all the wanted at Belfry
7-6. Powell beat Pike County Central 38-34 (early in season); Belfry beat PCC 52-20;
Powell and Garrard is playing their best ball, right now. Either way Belfry will have to
travel, and their hands will be full.
Something for Breathitt to ponder ( if they squeak bye Belfry, see above). Powell beat
Pike County Central 38-34 (early in season); Breathitt beat PCC 53-20; Garrard beat
Powell 57-27. Powell and Garrard is playing their best ball, right now. Either way
Breathitt will have to travel, and their hands will be full.
Whether its Powell or Garrard, don't expect any bowing!!!

It will be the semifinals, jw. At that stage of the game, teams like Breathitt and Belfry know that you prepare each week the same way no matter the opponent. Any team that makes it that far is capable of beating you and I know either Belfry or Breathitt, whichever it may be, will come to play next week and will not overlook their opponent.

will be no bowing out by any team. It will be a dogfight because I feel that anyone of
them are capable of beating the other, starting tonight......
