Describe the current head coach who has really had impact at a struggling program or top coordinator who is ready for a shot at a bigger program.
My number one: Tony Burchett at Powell-Phenomenal job with the best season in school history.

Garrard's head coach has drawn some attention with his team's success. Not sure if he's lookin' to move, but one would think he' be a hot commodity right now.

Chris Tracy at Franklin County, The year before he came, Franklin County went 1-9 after his arrival and with very little player changes, the team went 7-4 and this year they went 11-1. He has really turned the program around and seems to be taking Franklin County back in the right direction.

Lee Teegarden at Ryle. Was the head coach at Pendleton County, led them to 7-4 record in team's 7th year of existence.

Andy Stephens.
Stephens came to Southwestern this year after being at Casey County at 10 seasons. He was the special teams coach for the Warriors until the resignation of Dale Anderson resigned in September.
Stephens has proven that he can coach at a big-time program, as he has led the Warriors to an 8-game winning streak since taking over as the Warriors' interim coach. He led SWHS to their first district title since 2006, first victory over Pulaski since 2006, and has the Warriors in their second regional title game in school history.
He definitely deserves the coaching job at Southwestern.

Justin Haddix of Perry Central should be #1 on anyone's list.

Mark Scenters at Garrard County has to top the list.

My pick would be coach Herron at Williamsburg(9-3). He took a team of mostly freshmen and made it to the 1A third round. I think they will start 7 freshmen tonight against Hazard. If he can do this with a team of under classmen, what could he do with a seasoned vetran team. I know he's not on the market right now,so we will ,more than likely, get a chance to see in a couple of year's just what he can do with them. I think he is a great motivator and is able to get the most out of his player's.

...And we're going to do our best to keep him (at least I hope).

Justin Haddix is for sure the best young coach in the mountains. I am really impressed with him. That is just my opinion. Who knows, he might be the next Phillip Hayward of the mountains.

I agree Coach Haddix would be a good one, but who out there is has a opening in the state that is drawing to him as there new coach?

Are you serious? From what I hear he is the biggest reason for the low numbers on Ryles football team this year.

Ralistic what can a school district do to "keep" someone? Aren't their set in stone guidelines as far as coaches salary in each district?

59 players on a varsity roster is not low

Over 90 the year before. Finished with 36 dressed and that includes bring up some freshman.
59 is very low for a 6A school. By the first game they were down below 50 on the team.

I don't know that coach Herron or coach McNamee would ever want to leave thier current school if they have the choice.
How about we mention some resumes of assistants that might make good head coaches.

Lee is not the reason behind the numbers at Ryle. He does a great job and did a great job at Pendleton "trying" to change the outset of teh area and the program.

I would like to have Coach Haddix at my school.

With this being your first year there. What do you think is the reason for the low numbers?

Facilities, and support from the principal and superintendent are two non-salary items that are key in retention of a head coach IMO. Perry has the latter, and I do believe that there are plans in the works for a new facility.

Josh Hughes- Lewis County and Nate McPeek-Fairview- Both young guys that can flat out coach
