Perry County Central 2012
#1
How does everybody think they will do with the loss of Robinson, huff, white, and others?
#2
We should be okay. We will have to have some kids step up on the o-line, since we lost 4/5 starters. Losing Robinson and Huff are tough losses, but I think K. Robinson and some others will step up on defense to help fill the void. At QB, i'm not sure who we can use, but i'm sure Coach Haddix will have someone ready to go at that position come August.

The Commodores lose a lot of players due to graduation.

It sounds a little like the Clay County people who said they'd be fine after getting wiped out. I think I counted nine senior starters on both offense and defense.
Unless the JV was awesome, that will be tough to overcome.

They were pretty solid this year. This had to be one of their best years in a while. Hopefully next year they will have some good talent stepping in.

9 is a pretty high number. We have a large junior (now senior class) coming up now, they will be better than what Clay was this year, i'm pretty confident in that. We return a solid corps of skill players (Beatty, Pray, K. Robinson). We just need to find a few more linemen, if we can do that, we will be okay.

^ How long has the current coach been at PCC? Looks like he has a good program running.
#8
The 2012 season will make his 3rd. The coach before him was there in 2002 and returned again from 2006-2009 and done a very good job getting the feeder program running and now coach Haddix is doing a very good job of expanding on and building on that.
#9
Graduated many key players. Huge question at QB. Probably won't be contending for a district title next year, but will still be competitive.
#10
PCC still returns some good players.
I wouldnt be surprised if some of these players come out of there shell and have big years.

I really dont know what to think of this district next year.
Harlan county obviously lost A LOT.
Letcher lost there mr everything in Johnson and who knows how they'll be.
Whitley returns everyone except there o line and is probably the favorite going in.
#11
Didn't the pray kid use to play qb or something like tht?

I agree with everything you said, Whitley should be the favorite going in this year. redman2, Austin Pray did play qb in middle school and I believe played some in his freshman year, if I had to guess, he would be one of the candidates to fill the position.
#13
I hear Haddix will run the Wildcat with Darryl Beatty next year.

.

Do you mean in terms of quantity or quality?

We return 8 on defense, losing the safety, dt and def. end. Almost everyone on defense was a soph. or junior this season.

On offense we lose qb, 1/2 tb, rt, c,lt.

So we lose 5 players but the tailbacl position was shared a bunch this year snce we had two players that went for 2000 yards I think. One was a senior and the other was a junior so we return more than people think.

Had another undefeated freshmen class and a 1 loss JV team also. We will be alright next year.

GO BEARS!
#15
Harlan County will be the favorite. They were a sophomore-dominated team last year, especially on defense where they bring back three linemen, both linebackers (plus Lewis, who got hurt last year) and three defensive backs.

Like Gummie Bear said, their freshmen team hasn't lost in two years. No one came close to this year's sophomore class a year ago when they were freshmen.

You still lost the core of that team.
HC will look completely different next year.

Freshmen and JV ball doesnt always translate into success at the varsity level.
As long as Whitley puts together a decent line this summer, they'll be the favorite.

Replacing Jordy Brewer will be Key!!! He was the leader of this years team. This is really the first time we have to replace a leader like this, in the past it's been a couple of Seniors leading but seems like Jordy really filled that role this year.

Jake Middleton is an outstanding back, but we will miss having a two headed monster someone could break out we have some promising young players. I look for Chitwood to be the other back along with Devin Daniels getting some time.

I'm guessing Tucker Lewis will be a ? at Full Back, so I see Chorak and possibly Fred Massey at FB.

QB will most likely be Jenkins, with Caldwell waiting in the wings. But if they both struggle look for Larkey to take a page out of Joker Phillips play book and play a Senior WR at QB (Austin Maggard)!!!!

Coach has done a great job replacing key players, Nathaniel Gilliam left we had TJ Green, Dylon Smith, & McMillan. Dylon left we had Jake Middleton, McMillian leaves.....we'll see.

The defense will be better, don't forget the Black Bears lost a lot of defense the year before last.

Replacing Michael Smith will be a task, when he wanted to he could block anyone!

I believe the Black Bears will be okay and leave it to the players who wins the district.

pcc will have some work to do haddix is a good coach but he will earn his keep next year
#19
They will be fine. I heard they got 2 transfers from Texas named Zaga Gabor & Aslan Twighlight. I here there real "Ballers".

Harlan County lost more last year and they were still the favorite.
I bet Jim Black would even tell you Harlan County is the favorite next year.

Nicely said.
How many starters did HC lose on the line?

We need to start district thread, I didn't realize that I was jacking a Perry thread.

But as always who knows how this district will play out, could be wideopen!

I bet Larkey would tell you'd Whitley is the favorite.
Its all horse shit, of course coaches arent going to say they are the favorite and act like there gonna win every game.

I just dont see HC returning the type of team they have had the past two years.
#26
I think this will be a rebuilding year. They still have a little talent left on the roster but still they got a long road to go.

You don't see it because you don't want to see it.
I agree though. If you had watched them like I have, you'd know this sophomore class is better than the junior and senior classes.

I know Harlan County hasnt been a fluke.
With the amount of quality players they have to choose from to form one team now, there here to stay.
HC will be right there when it comes down to it, but i dont see them being nearly as good.
If WC can put together a line this summer that was better than last years line, they'll be hard to handle as they played just about everyone close, but there a young team and dint know how to win games.
With Whitleys skill players they have returning, including Bryant and Ysidro, along with the rest of the team we pretty much had this year, i dont see how you could go against them.

PCC will be tougher than people think.
Ive watched those kids over the past few years and contrary to what some would like to think, Robinson was not the only player they had. Those kids they have coming bad including the other Robinson kid is dangerous.

Ill be honest and know nothing of what LCC returns or how many seniors they lost.
All i do know is everytime Whitley plays them, they play there best game of the year for some reason.

In other words, to be truthful, its wide open and there really isnt a favorite at this point.
#29
Harlan County won by 25 points last year at Whitley County and you don't see how anyone could pick against Whitley?
According to the KHSAA, Harlan County had 14 seniors and Whitley County had 10.
And before you explain how Whitley didn't really lose anyone, seven of Harlan County's seniors weren't starters.

I love your poor trolling abilities, mainly just against me ever since i proved you wrong on the Harlan/Whitley girls basketball game the other day, however, you obviously dont understand what im talking about as you know nothing of Whitleys program and what we have coming up.
Congrats on a 25 point win against a team who was made up of 90% freshman and sopohomores, while we had 3 or 4 seniors on the line a couple of avergage d backs who were seniors and a kicker, who was actually probably our best senior this past year. 2 of the seniors on the roster didnt even play so you do the math.

Im not getting into a trash thread with you as i respect to many of the HC posters on here and have struck up quite a friendship with a lot of them, but your a joke. You cant even troll around without looking for something i post. Sorry i got to you that bad and as a big time Harlan supporter as you claim you are in another thread, i find it hard to believe you support the county that much or even know that much about there football team. :Sad04:

If you look at my entire post that you quoted, all i said was it was pretty much wide open. Ive seen Harlan County a total of 5 times over the past few years and have seenn them play. What have you seen Whitley, once?

As i said, Harlan Co. is number one until someone knocks them off, but you cant honestly say this district isnt wide open next year, and Whitley wont be a threat to HC.
