You guessed it. Holmes has a better winning percentage against Highlands than does Covcath.

29.3% in 58 games (CCH) versus 30% in 70 games (Holmes) is not much of a difference. I have no love for CovCath (or NewCath for that matter) but aren't these threads a little ridiculous Lefty?

^ No, It's Lefty's goal to make HHS fans look ridiculous and arrogant asses by a bunch of old people who don't even play the game.... Fans like you, Tradition, SSTACK, Blau Vogel, Horst, Bird4Life and many others are the majority (sorry if I didn't catch you all), but you all look like buffoons because of ignorance such as this. Lefty will defend himself, but he obviously has no support from his own peers from the school that he supports, so, you have to blame it on him and his own inferiority complex that must be deep down inside that dates back to his childhood where he was probably bullied by someone from NCC.....

That is the issue. I had been a lurker on here for about three years. Great place to get info now that I am no longer living in Kentucky. Once Lefty started posting nonsense and making ALL Highlands fans look like jerks, I felt obliged to start posting. I just do not understand what is to be gained by acting this way? Life is too short to spend it pissing people off. I guess it is the anonymity of on-line forums coupled with underlying emotional/psychological issues in the poster. Am I proud of Highlands' tradition? YES. Is a little trash talk fun? Sure but one does not have to be a jerk about it.

Did Highlands and Danville tie one time?

As bad as we hate to say it sometimes, it's the trolls like lefty that draw people to these sites and keep them posting. Usually people will get on to defend the attacks against their team. And if a troll's team loses - the thoughts running through the people's heads are "I can't wait to get on BGR and rub it into this guys face!!!" I'll admit I've had my share of troll posts on here, although I've decided to stop. Lefty needs to come up with some new stuff besides attacking Cov Cath (who will be very good these next few years) all the time. But it is the trolls who really can help contribute toward the growth of a website like this. When people are posting to defend their team, usually they think, "Well since I'm already here...might as well go post on the college or pro forums. Or the general discussion."
And then they're hooked.

Yes. There are some ties in the other series as well. If you visit the linked site, there is a formula that considers ties in the winning percentage.

I think some of these games date back to the early 1920s and 1930s.

Cincy Saint Mary's....how in the world did they end up with 75% in 2 games?

A Highlands loss and a tie. A tie is split between each team. See the link to the web site.

I type facts. Some people can't deal with them.

Trolls get old very quickly and are boring. I like to talk about the games, strengths, weaknesses and match-ups.

"Fact" is an interesting term to use. If you perform a statistical analysis (Chi square analysis) of the wins and losses of CCH and Holmes against Highlands, the p value is 1.000 indicating that there is NO difference between the winning percentages. The 0.7% difference is not statistically significant and could occur by chance alone!
So, the real question is why start the thread?

To respond to both sstack and NKY, it depends how often the person trolls and what type of attacks they use. Dangerousdanneer fan in the college forums is good at stepping in, taking a quick swipe, and getting out of dodge while people take the bait hook, line, and sinker. Neery doesn't troll extremely often, and can put up some realistic discussions - but when he does troll, such as after WVU beat UK in the 2010 elite 8, he recruited a couple of people to the website simply to get on and argue with him. I do agree, however (so I guess we can agree to disagree lol) that when things get old and repetitive, like the threads of ol' lefty, then that's when it starts to lure people away.

Neery is weak. I wish every troll on here was like him, child's play. :trolldad:

I like discussing football strategy etc....with guys who played and know the game. Not guys who never took a snap and just happen to like football, so they're an expert. They act like they know football on the internet.
I also don't appreciate the guys who showed up late in their high school years to stand on the sidelines and clap while a few of us busted our tails and now they're also football experts.

So enlighten us with your expert credentials: when did you play at Highlands; what position(s); what years did you start; what honors did you earn; how did your teams do?

Easy now, he has to graduate from kindergarten before he can give you that information. Sorry, had to.
