Anyone else remember or miss the A.B.A.
#1
I do remember and I do miss.

more of a Cincinnati Royals fan

Before my time to ever get to watch. Hell, in 1980 the NBA championship games were played on tape delay at 11:30 PM, so I don't think I ever saw an ABA game on television

Didn't the three point shot and 24 second clock originate in the ABA?
#6
^ I believe it did
#7
Would have been awesome to see the ABA...unfortunately I was born around the end of the Magic/Bird era.

I remember playing in the Sweet Sixteen back in '75 and thought it was just as great to get to dress in the Kentucky Colonels locker room as it was to play in Freedom Hall. There was shag carpeting on the walls and every where else.lol..... At the time Louie Dampier, Dan Issel, and Artis Gilmore played for the Colonels. I want to say that Mike Casey was on the team too, but not 100% sure. Dan Issel was my childhood hero, so I was a bigger fan of the ABA than I was of the NBA during that time. It was just a great experience and one I think of quite often, even 37 years later.

Yeah, it seemed like an eternity thinking we would never get out of school at the time. Now we have been out over 3 times longer than we actually spent in school. If you dwelled on it for very long, it would get kind of depressing.

lol.....Well I guess since none of you squirts are old enough to remember that there ever was such a thing as the ABA, then yeah I guess so. We're the only ones that can remember it. Confusednicker:

Old School, looks like someone loaned him a copy of our class yearbook and he somehow got ahold of our senior pictures. Of course we both do look quite a bit different now that we did back then. Unfortunately father time has played his cruel twist of fate on both of us, as we have both aged just a tad since then, and neither one of us look quite as good as we did back then in our youth. I've lost a couple of teeth since then and you have dyed your hair blond. Bottom line, we're just plain and simply not nearly as sexy as we were back in the day when those shots were made. Hurts like the dickens to admit it, but lets face it, the truth is the truth.

Remember ABBA? Heck yeah!!! I remember having backstage tickets to one of their concerts. Me and Old School double dated the Rugglemeir twins (Freida and Rita) that night. They were the opening act for "The Captain and Tennille" . Wild times (if you know what I mean) for sure that night.
