Heard the Tigers started today and would love to know how many came out to participate since the change. Anybody know?

what time do they practice i would like to watch and find out how many

Idk how many would be out considering most of the boys play baseball, and run track. But Ill try to find out for you guys.

I am very pleased to say that there were 21 boys practicing yesterday. Considering baseball, and track are in season this is a good sign.

That "normally" don't happen or is "allowed" to happen.

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

The power of BMR is working again.

I ran into one of the players parents last night and they said spring practice went pretty well. They said Joe Chirico is making a huge impact on the Tigers team on the field and in the weight room. I think the number has been around 20-22 at practice on any given day.

Who will be the QB this year? Did Paintsville get any new kids to come out or any transfers?
03-12-2012, 03:05 PM
^With Daniels hurt. To me the next logical guess would be Matt Miller at the QB. They should have Lane Daniels back next season from what I hear. His family is moving back after this school year is over. He will be big help for the Tigers!

I agree OTH if the Tiger offense is going to be one dimensional. Hand offs and draw plays that would be a good call for the Tigers but from what I heard yesterday he is one baseball player not participating in spring practice. If BMR is going to throw the football then that would be suicide for the offense. What position does Lane Daniels play? But agree another body will help.

Wishing Paintsville a quick climb up the district ladder.

I would say that is because his dad prolly won't let him. And I don't blame him. The basketball players that quit early in the season weren't allowed to join the baseball team when practices started.
I don't get the whole "Spring Practice" anyway. 10 days, 5 months before the season starts isn't going to make or break any team.

I agree that it won't make or break a team, but it can help. In Paintsville's case, they could use this time to introduce the new systems that they will be using.
Do you think basketball should use June to play in as many tournaments/camps as they can? It is a full 3-4 months before their season starts.

That's all voluntary. School is out and there are no other school seasons taking place.

I guess it depends on the school. Here, if you don't play summer ball you can't play basketball.

I totally agree with this. It also provides the coaches an opporunity to teach what they want to instill. I would bet they have been outside in the 10 days given more than the baseball team but when you start practice at 6pm its difficult at best to get anything in.

I forgot to ask, who has been taking the snaps at qb at spring practice?

Not B$tchin OTH just giving the facts, obviously it hit a nerve. If you are one of the excuse mongers then let it ride and stay status quo. Like I said, I'm usually wrong about stats and numbers and thanks for the info from the other thread. I've had many upside posts for this school in all athletics you can read them as you may have had. Just saying, if you don't agree I respect that and you but I'm sticking to my guns on this. Since you didn't respond to the other post, go read post 116 on Mountain Football thread. Sounds like it was right.

I'm not giving excuses for anything. I just learned a long time ago, that it does no good to get on here and complain. It's much easier, if you have a problem with something, to address that problem with the so called source.

Hey, TB.....Who has been taking snaps at practice? Or are they not addressing that issue right now. You know I personally don't care who the QB is. I just wanna see the Tigers get turned around in the right direction.

I'm glad to see the Tigers are having spring football. I've had a lot of people telling me they are really excited about this year because Coach Runyon is going to fix Paintsville Football. I haven't been able to watch them practice any because of work but what changes has Runyon made this spring that needed to be made? I'd really like to see the Tigers get back to form.

Hook, all my info comes second hand cause I've got second shift and that's why I'm wrong all the time but from what I've heard its been Mark Fannin, Kash Daniels, and Luke Trimble. I can say this, both people have said Daniels is head and shoulders above the other two, better reads, great touch, and not even close on stronger arm. And yes apparently it does matter cause they are grading them. I am not taking anything away from the Fannin and Trimble kids that's just what I have been told.

Great. Thanks for the info. Have you heard how the O-Line is looking.

Heard they are working on technique and thats about it besides agility drills said the ones there are small for lineman but are working hard and focused on what the coaches are teaching.

I heard Daniels, Fannin, Miller, Kash, and Trimble are all going to compete for the QB spot this year. If I had to guess it will be Fannin or Matt Miller because Matt Daniels is battling a knee injury and it is unknown when he will be cleared. What offense is BMR running this year?
