final from louisa. great game. let me repeat great game to watch! sophomore pitcher joe wallen for lchs threw a complete game 1 hitter. i believe lchs had 5 or 6 hits but committed 5 or 6 errors. great game to watch from the stands. should be a great 3rd game in the decisive district series. correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't this put lchs at 4-1 in district play now?

Yes they are 4-1 in district play. Not bad for a team that's rebuilding.

The #10 was the magical number at tonight's Dawgs/Eagles baseball game which was 2 in the series. #10 for the Dawgs was Joe Wallen who went the distance on the mound in a one hit game for Lawrence County. On the other side of the coin #10 Jim Preston drilled a single up the middle to prevent the No-No in the 7th for Johnson Central.

Wallen was impressive. He completely shut down JC. I thought Quade Ward was also. He pitched well enough to win but JC just didn't hit it. Those are two good sophmore pitchers. The freshman Blanton looked good too.
So far I have been far more impressed with the pitching in this series than the hitting.

And seeing that you're just dying to get something started here this morning, here's something for you to to ponder on and explain. And not a single post from a Lawrence Co. fan until post #10 in the game #1 thread. Is there a reason you failed to mention that? ...that is since you're wanting to aggitate........

why do you take it as if i was only going after jchs people on here? i was also going after some of our lchs people on here who usually post but didn't. i don't expect jchs people like yourself to get on here and brag on lchs, although it wouldn't be a bad idea considering a sophomore was 1 pitch away from a no-hitter. after noticing that pikeville only beat east ridge 1-0, i will still say jchs should be the early favorite in the region. i'm not sure what belfry has, but have heard they have a couple of good arms but no offense. prestonsburg has some good bats but not any good arms.
i guess what i'm saying is cool your jets. i was just expressing some attempt of satirical humor.

Well I think that EP '90 did do that very thing about bragging on the great performance by your sophomore.(uh...BTW, I think he is a JC fan too...lol) By the way that sophomore also happens to be the son of one of my life long friends that I used to play a little ball with back in the day here in Johnson Co. Check to see if ole dad didn't play a little round ball at Meade Memorial onest upon a time. So if you think I have a problem giving Kudos to him, you'd be a little on the dead wrong side....haha
Cool my jets.....lol....no overheating here bud.....you're the one that got all uh..."satirical" here this morning.
Just thought of something else. I'll bet if EP '90 asked his dad about Wallen's dad he might just say he shot a hoop or two with/against him too........lol

I'm not sure one can ever get up early enough for that EP....

Although I don't have a clue what Blanton's velosity was ,it was quite noticable.Ward certainly had a presence on the mound and Wallen's performance spoke for itself. Overall a good game to watch. I suppose that is what every true fan of the game desires. It is always nice to get the W but it should never be taken out of context. A mercy run game is something we all have better things to do. After all we are back to the field for the rubber match this evening.

Agreed Charlie. What people are going to see in the next 3 or 4 years out of these two teams, (wait 3 teams, I'm throwing Paintsville in there too) is that they are all going to be competetive and these games are all going to be....uh, emotional. They are all 3 going to be the force of the 57th district and of the 15th region in the years to come. Braggin rights are going to be swapped around time and time and time again. These 3 are all very good,...... but very young teams.

Great game to call last night. LC despite having the win had 4 errors in the game which needs some work but then again they overcame those to get the win. Wallen was really impressive, spoke to him after the game and just a great young man ( very polite, respectful). Salyer and Daniel for LC have excellent speed, as does Mayes, Meek, and the pinch runner for JC. Very competitive game and fun to watch. Should be a very interesting game 3....

Tough loss for the Eagles tonight. I really like watching these two teams play each other. I feel like these two teams are very evenly matched as far as talent goes. It's fun to watch these guys play because you never know who will come out on top between these two. Just a prediction, but I have a good feeling that we'll be seeing these two teams in the 57th Championship game, or at least one. I still feel like Paintsville can play with anyone with the Vanhoose kid on the mound. Congrats on the win LC!
