Family ties helped the Kentucky football team land one of its most highly regarded commitments in the 2013 class on Sunday.

Tallahassee, Fla., Godby High School running back Khalid Thomas, the brother of UK freshman linebacker Kadeem Thomas, confirmed in a phone interview Sunday night that he had made a verbal commitment to UK offensive line coach Mike Summers and was attempting to reach head coach Joker Phillips to deliver the news.
