I disagree with a lot of this but I love that we have 3 mountain teams in the top 5 in 3a. I think this year with Bell,Belfry,Breathitt and Pike central that 3a will be the strongest class in the mountains hands down. After that it would be 4a with Johnson,Knox and Rock.:Thumbs:

Massey is always based on performance I thought. So it's hard to really put any stock in who they might rate before halfway through the season.

I am eager for 2012 preseason rankings like most of us (regardless of how meaningless they are) but wouldn't every team have to be 0-0 for 2012 season on July 20, 2012.

These rankings are not accurate until later in the season when every team has played @ least 5-6 games. The more games, the more accurate. But these are rankings, and rankings mean nothing really, just good rating grabbers.

Typically the Massey Ratings end up being by far the most accurate rating system IMO (of the Cantrall/MaxPreps/Lit), but with all of them they are pretty much useless until about Week 7 or 8.

These are last years rankings. Computers need input before they can rank teams. The Massey rankings usually come out after 3-4 weeks of the season. If not, these are the stupidest rankings I've ever seen.

They are a good staarting point in the case that you have to start somewhere.

In 2A I believe they are as close as you can get. The last 2 tears the state chanp has come from NKY. And I believe that in those years if the winner of the HC and NCC playoff game was change that team would have won state. So until they are on the losing end its hard to put another team ahead of the two.
