Knox Central wins this one but gets some good work on their pass defense. Williamsburg will give the Panther's DB's fits. I think Williamsburg is outmanned on the O and D lines by Canady and crew.

KC started slow last year in this scrimmage. Missed easy passes that could have opened a big lead. But I do remember our first play from defense was a big sack for a 12 yard loss by some Diamond kid...

Look for the Panthers to be fast and bring the venom on defense. I have Wb passes it as that is a spot we need to be solid and the work will do us good. Who knows what we will do on offense but it will be fun to watch.

I think Knox is in for a surprise.

I dont know why im doing it, but IMO, Wburg wins this one.

A lot of people will be surprised by the speed of the panthers defense this year. Granted their not as big as years past but what they lack in size they more than make up in speed an strength, as the ole saying goes speed kills an I believe the panther speed will kill the jackets, but will find out Thursday.

Shouldnt Wburg be a faster team overall?
#10
I think Wburg is a faster team over all, but reports are that Knox has the fastest strongest defense they've had in a long time. Offense will be different this year. along with new QB that is a senior. I don't think either team will show a whole lot anyway.

True, but im sure Wburg will air it out big time.
If KC's Secondary has any problems at all, it could be a long night.
#12
It could be along night the Jackets on offense have serious depth far as receiver and even QB ..... IDK about Knox DB's but Idk if i've ever seen a high school team with such great receivers never droping a ball I'm talking even in two the third string..... Fast .... Knox better be because all four receivers either have size or speed and some have both. Defensively I don't see knox moving the ball williamsburg D line is big and experienced I see I knox team with no answer.... But I could be wrong ... because out of 11 starters on offense and defense they start over 7 to 8 soft-mores But now only time will tell!

If the Jackets are that much better than a fair 4A team then they will have no trouble with the likes of Harlan or Hazard. It's straight to Bowlingreen and Mayfield for this bunch.

I agree that neither team will show much, just like last year when on offense Knox just wanted to throw it, but as you seen when the season started other than the game against Rock, Know ran about 90% of the time, lets just hope the teams have a good game and no one gets hurt on either team, cause after all it just a scrimmage

If W-burg recievers get introduced to Canady coming across the middle they will be asking for that running game to get fired up... Everybody thinks of him as an offensive threat but if you know him - he is one of the hardest hitting defenders in KY. He will likely play D1 ball as a Strong Safety or OLB.
#16
Williamsburg will go deeper into the play book and pull this one out.

The running game will be good also and Wburg doesnt throw across the middle much. They do have 5 good receivers and coach Herron is smart enough to stay away from the best player on the field.
Honestly I think this will be a low scoring game with neither team showing much which will give KC the advantage because of depth and size.
#19
The rain will give the Williamsburg a receivers a test.
#20
16-8 KC the JV played second half for both teams. 1st half score was 8-0 KC. Williamsburg looked good they were off just a little on the passes but that will come around best class A team around here. Knox defense looked good QB throws the ball well running game needs to improve Line on both sides of the ball needs to improve.
#21
Williamsburg's timing was off on the passing game. The jacket defense is amazing.
#22
Scrimmage or not, i think Wburg could definitely hang right in there with KC in a real game.
Im sure a lot of KC fans were surprised at how good Wburgs defense is, and the fact that they didnt even get to the second page of the playbook meant a lot.

Are you serious, KNOX ran the same 5 plays over and over again, KC has to work on their line play that is for sure. I guess the 5 INT's the Sizemore Kid threw for WHS was un forced..LMAO. Williamsburg is a good team. But don't go crazy over a 20 minute panorama game.:please:

Lets set some things straight.
A. I did not attend the game, so i dont know what happened.
B. Knox Central will not be as good as they were last year.
C. Wburg is better than a lot of people think.

A. Ok you answered it all with statement A.
B. Knox can be better than last year that is yet to be seen. Defense is already better.
C. Yes Wburg is and will be a very good team.

Agreed.

All i know is that KC db's were a lot better than most thought there d-line looked pretty good, but the o-line does need some work
#28
2 of Williamsburg's int's were tipped by the offensive player and another interception was just an overthrown ball where he had a receiver wide open.
Knox would beat Williamsburg in a real game, but, Williamsburg is going to be hard for any 1a team to beat this year
#29
Wburg looked good on defense as far as stopping he run goes. But they did it by not having a safey and loading the box. That only works for a series or two if the guys with headphones are worth their salt.

The passing game proved we have the best corp of DBs that we have had in a while.

Overall- I am always impressed with Wburg and believe they will be a power in 1A football. We have work to do for sure but still - I think we will surprise some folks this year.
