Congrats to the Jumpers on their win.
I'm sure SW will be making some adjustments. Good luck to both teams.

Pulaski is better than both of you, Somerset recruited Tyson Williams, who is one the better players they have from the Legend Robert P Jones at McCreary Central.

If it wasn't for a botched snap in the beginning of the game, the Warriors would have never gotten on the board! It was complete and total domination from beginning to end for the Briar Jumpers! I was really happy to see Castle Hatcher get into the game and not only did he get some very valuable experience only being a freshman QB but, he throws for a TD and if I am not mistaken, it was a 91yd TD pass at that!!
Congrats to the Briar Jumpers! Great things are going to be happening at the Briar Patch this season!! It will not surprise me one bit if Somerset goes undefeated this year but, either way, it is going to be an exciting ride!

I'm certainly not even implying that this is the case, but IF EVER a principal or athletic director in this freaking town had even the slightest clue about football whatsoever, the Warriors would have a new defensive coordinator by Monday morning.
But we all know that ain't happening. And despite last night's beat-down, the Jumpers still have their own ADministrative issues.

I hope we can keep it rolling. Hopefully Friday night gave the offense the confidence they needed to make some noise late in the playoffs. Defense is in postseason form already though.

I'm glad you dont coach my kid. Coaches should never simply "concede" talent levels and put a kid in a position to fail.

Quote:Head Coach Robbie Lucas emphasized both sides of the win.
“Southwestern is a young team,” he said. “They’ve got good size, they’re just young. They made some young mistakes tonight. And we’re still making those mistakes. You can tell. They’ll be a much better team by the end of the season. Coach Stevens does a very good job.”
“Our kids got the passing game going tonight,” he continued. “A little bit of it had to do with us executing. A little bit of it had to do with the coverage we were facing. Getting the passing game going really helped.”
Lucas was pleased with the performance of some of the players we don’t usually hear from.
“I was proud of Patrick Williams,” he noted. “ We got them on a jet sweep (kick return) and he took it to the house (79 yards). Of course it gets called back,(on a personal foul penalty) but he still showed us something. He looked good, Will Lange looked good. Cam Cheuvront looked really good early, and what he did showed his time is coming.”
“We’re trying to build a team concept here,” Lucas continued to emphasize.
