It could be a long night for the pass defense.

Tates Creek 35 - Corbin 14

I don't know much about Corbin, I know they smoked Creek last year. What's their secondary look like? Creek has a lot of confidence in their passing game after putting up 555 yards in the last two games (with no Int's)... How is Corbin at running the ball? Creek has shown they are week here...

Corbin runs the ball well, but have been shooting themselves in the foot with penalties and several QB/center exchange problems each game. The passing game has not been good enough so far to overcome a lot of long yardage situations.

The secondary will be very inexperienced this week.

This one xould get away from Corbin in a hurry. Corbin beat Tates Creek 21-14 last year with 2 TDs getting called back and some "questionable" calls during the game. Tates Creek will be chomping at the bit in this one. Dennis Oxendine had a huge day on the ground last year against Corbin.

I see a score in the range of 35-10 or 42-14 Creek. Corbin has changed philosophies over the years getting away from the pure smash mouth philosophy and incorporated a more spread offense system. Does not bode well in this matchup. I am sure after seeing film of the Harlan County film, Corbin will try and run the ball more, but they do not have the personnel and Line like Harlan to be successful. Tates Creek in a big way this week.

That's what I was wondering... will they have a big "O" line, and a big bruising back. That creats real head aches for Creek. I agree, Creek will score a lot of points, depending on how the weather holds up, I'd say you're right anywhere from 28 to 42 (just my guess based on the last two weeks). The only real way to beat Creek right now, is to out score them... and you'll have to do that with a powerful running game. I'm looking forward to watching some film on Corbin at some point this week to get a better idea of what the Creekers are up against...

Corbin is a solid team and solid program. But they are in no way shape or form like Harlan. Not near as big, or strong, or as committed
To the run. Corbin wants to open up and throw the ball as well. And Corbin lost a lot off of a good team last year.

Tates Creek doesn't have a problem scoring on anyone and they can and will score in bunches. And outside of Scott County, won't see another team with that style.

I see this game, pending weather, Tates Creek in a big way. 35-10. 42-10.

Is Corbin a young team this year? I know they won a middle school state championship a couple of years ago and those kids are now sophmores.

Tates Creek 48 Corbin 27 Maybe 55-27

Tates Creek should win this game handidly.
HC destroyed Corbin a couple of weeks ago in there scrimmage, and i think Corbin will have a tough time defending the pass.

I hope im wrong but i see Tates Creek winning by 3TD's+

Corbin starts 3 sophomores on offense and 2 on defense. There may be a few more playing this week since Corbin has 6 upperclassmen who will be sitting this game out. It should be a good opportunity for some kids to step up and claim some playing time.

Not a good week for them to sit guys. What are they sitting for might I ask?

The Sports Xpress crew will be at this game, and we're hoping for a highly competitive affair.

Can you give us more info as to why the Corbin upper classmen will be sitting out?

Broke team rules.

I applaud Coach Jewell for doing this, because as you stated, it's not a good week to be sitting out players. He could have turned his head, but there are lessons to be learned and sometimes they have to be learned the hard way.

I commend your coach as well. Kudos to a real man teaching these young men lessons. I'm sorry to hear that. Opportunity for some young guys to step in and play. Wish you guys safe travel and a good experience at our house if your coming to the game.

Impressive... not a lot of Coaches would make the same call. Good luck to both teams on Friday.
