Ashland @ George Washington(Charleston,WV) 8/31

Last thread was closed so I started a new one. Ryan Switzer suffered no structural damage to his shoulder and is expected to be cleared from his concussion this week. I expect the Tomcats will see the UNC committ even though the coach Is saying its a game time decision. Last season the tomcats held the WV state runner ups to there lowest point total of the season. Should be another great game this time around.

I'll take GW.

IMo GW wont risk there chances at another run at state by playing Switzer in a non conference game. Just my thoughts but if he's questionable I'd say they sit him out. They will still be a big challenge for our Tomcats. I believe we will see some new face in the secondary Baker an Jackson will give tremendous speed along with Salow at safety. An looks like Younge will move to monster a position
he will thrive at. This should correct the defensive problems that were noticeable last week vs raceland.

Every game counts in WV, they need this win just as much as any other. If Switzer can play then Tomcats will have to deal with him. I think this is too close to call, too many questions. I'll have to pull for the KY boys, but this should be a great game no matter who pulls it out.

I hope you are right. I also hope Switzer is ready to go. Man what a joy he was to watch. And playing against him will only make our tomcats better. Just judging by the way Switzer and GW coaches were talking it sounds like they both expect him to play just don't want to say so yet incase there is some kind of setback. You can read the articles in the Charleston Gazette Online

I didn't realize they did that, so its same as in Ohio? Then I would guess he plays if cleared, should be a hard hitting game looking forward to it.

I'm a big fan of Crouser. I thought he was one of the best players I saw play last year. He has great size and speed for the LB position. The Gazette reported that he signed with Charlotte recently. GW's tight end is also supposed to be a D-1 caliber athlete. GW's LB crew last year, in general, was awesome. Hopefully, this will be a good game. Watching film of the first two Ashland games, the Tomcats have made quite a few mistakes although the OL looks pretty good. Defensively, the Tomcats need to be technically sound and stick with their assignments as Switzer and Crouser will capitalize on mistakes in positioning and alignment.
Tomcats: 28-22 with one defensive TD.

According to the Charleston Gazette, Ryan Switzer will not play tonight. I was hopeful that we would get a chance to see him play as he is a tremendous talent. He has not been cleared re: his concussion. His absence will be beneficial for the Tomcats though. Should be a good game. Be safe traveling folks. I'll see you at the game. I'll be the one wearing Maroon.

This is awful. I remember him last year after every play looking to see if there was a tomcat defender he could help up. And after the game he had nothing but good things about Ashlands fans, players, and stadium. Even though I only got to see him play once he truly was a class act and it was a pleasure one of my favorite opponents to ever play in Putnam stadium cause he was just so unique both in football skills and sportsmanship. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Don't worry. If Switzer doesn't play that just means a bigger dose of Crouser.

According to the Charleston Gazette the Switzer kid will sit out tonight. According to the story he wasn't cleared due to a concussion that he suffered last week.
#17
Preparation wise they've prepared for him. So they are ready, as for . Crouser meet
#60 Shannon Justice. Gonna be some big-time hitting tonight.
anybody that's going should leave early word is that road to the field gets really backed up close to game time, said it can take 45 min after arriving to Charleston just to get to field on gamenite.
