Well pretty much all the 5A teams play one another so all but one about has to fall.
Knox and Russell have to play so there goes one.
PRP will lose to Central.
Id say at the end of the regular season, Owensboro Catholic, Breathitt County, Highlands, Russell County, Bowling Green, and Trinity are my only locks.

Trinity Is a lock. Highlands has a tough one vs elder. Fairview only challenge is Raceland. Bowling green probably will as well.

Of all the teams listed, I think Bowling Green has the best chance of going undefeated. Trinity and Highlands have GCL games that could interrupt the perfect season. Owensboro Catholic looks like a team that will run out of gas in the playoffs.

Breathitt should be undefeated when they travel to Belfry to play for the right to go to Bowling Green.
I don't really know enough about the other teams schedules to predict their outcomes other than Trinity who will finish the year undefeated.

Bourbon doesn't have too tough of a schedule left. They make me nervous, whereas our region in 3A has Belfry and Breathitt, I don't feel like the teams in their half are close, so the Belfry/Breathitt winner might be REALLY beat up heading into that next week to play Bourbon County (assuming Belfry and Breathitt make it past the first & second round)

If russell county can keep there heads right, it will happen for us, must get, and stay focused, and it will be a storried season. i think we have gotten alot more focused the last couple games. this is a better team than last year all the way around.

As far as the regular season goes.....
Fairview will lose to Raceland
Bardstown will lose to Desales
Morgan will lose to Breathitt Co.
Russell County will lose to Knox Central
Highlands will lose to Elder
Warren Central will lose to Bowling Green
Grayson County will lose to John Hardin
PRP will lose to Central if Butler don't beat'em to it
This leaves the following undefeated in the regular season....
Owensboro Catholic
Breathitt Co.
Bourbon Co.
Knox Central
Warren East
Franklin Co.
Bowling Green
John Hardin
Trinity
There only 2 teams i fill will end the year undefeated and thats Bowling Green & Trinity.

This game will be the determining factor... at least for me, to see if Russell Co is a legit 4A contender. I said it before and hope I did not offend to many, but Russell Co is a good/ great squad with good athletes but has played a cupcake schedule. Knox will be their only TOUGH test of the regular season and if they do pull it off with a victory, I will be a believer. Good luck to both.

I agree, their schedule will hurt them in the end. However, how were they to know that Rockcastle, Pulaski, and other scheduled teams would not be as good this year and in years past. Knox Central is a more smash mouth team IMO and will get the best of them this year (it is at KC this year). Russell Co barely beat them last year and I think Knox is a lot better than they were last year. I see them possibly winning the region not just the district. They are a good team with good speed and they play hard. Russell Co is fast, but I don't think they are as tough on the Off and Def line. This is where games are won and lost. Russell Co better win this year, because IMO they go downhill after this season.

Surely you still don't consider Whitley a cupcake after they played Bell close at Bell and beat Somerset at Somerset?

And losing Canady and 13 other seniors spells Knox will be on the rise next year???

Russell,Co has a great chance the game with Knox will tell the out come, Belfry over Breathitt I dont know if Breathitt will make it to Belfry their not that good seen them play Hazard. Hazard should have won had 4 turnovers, 2 inside the BC 10. Good Luck to all the teams undefeated the rest of the way.

There record shows it. At least the time Russell Co played them. I believed Whitley Co. at the time was only 1-2 or 2-1.

Breathitt will easily beat the 4 seed and subsequent 2 seed from District 8... Belfry will follow suit as well against Breathitt's district.

No doubt EKU!! It would be hard to imagine any other scenario where teams other than Belfry and Breathitt meet for the regional championship.

Actually Whitley was undefeated when we played them...of course they were winless as well! We were their first game.

You can not lose a player like Britt and not take a step back, but you better not sleep on next year's lakers. Once again they will have about 13 or 14 seniors. When our Seniors were 8th graders they went undefeated but the following year when our Juniors were 8th graders they only lost one game and beat most teams by 4 or 5 touchdowns. The lakers should compete for a district title again next year....now the year after that...that's a different story.

I really believe that this year's Laker squad has a chance at an undefeated regular season. The Lakers, the coaching staff and fanbase has much admiration and respect for what Knox Central can do on the football field. It will take a good effort on the Laker's part to go into the Panther Nation and come home with a win. However, anyone who thinks the Lakers are soft has not been paying attention. We will not be pushed around by Knox or anyone else in our region. We don't line up with an offensive linemen in the backfield as a full back and our defensive is not predicated on having massive guys on the D-Line. We are who we are! We will spread you out on offensive and get the ball to one of several playmakers the most explosive of which is Britt. On Defense our team speed is evident as well..linebackers and D-linemen alike are constantly making tackles in the backfield. The linemen we do have are much stronger than they were last year thanks a good lifting program and getting some new guys on the field. We need to keep focusing on one game at a time...but if we do that and give our best effort this group of young men can accomplish some GREAT things!

Highlands has a tough route thanks to Cincinnati Elder, but I am glad we are playing the game. Should we win that, we will be 15-0. I think a lot of Highlands fans would find a 14-1 season with a state title a disappointment, and because of that I just don't see us losing to Elder.

Williamsburg is 5-0 in state that could be a perfect season in the state of Kentucky.:beg: put us in

Wide, I think you would be the only HHS fan disappointed with a 14-1, state champ season. Will be cheering like crazy for the Birds to beat Elder, but I am afraid it is not going to happen this year.

After watching Knox Central against my Black Bears...I am sold on them....I beileve they will go undefeated and win the region.....the are LOADED with talent.

Cincinnati Elder is in a situation where it can afford to lose 1 more game and still make the playoffs. Unfortunately, they play Moeller this week and Winton Woods before Highlands. That's why I see Elder beating Highlands, Elder will be in a must win with help situation, making them very dangerous

A lot of the fans I know would be disappointed. Elder will be a machine to face. I mean, last year we barely beat them (actually down 21-17 with Towles in the game if I am correct) and they were 2-8 and missing a few players on top of that. They are good every year, even when they are down.

Towles went out after the first offensive series if I remember correctly and McCoy came in to lead the Birds to a W.

Ok, that's right. I kept thinking he went out after we took a 10 point lead and were down. Even with him, that would have been a difficult game to win though. Elder is loaded.
