wildone89 Wrote:Back door, can't you get along with anyone? First, our coach will be here as long as he wants to be. Everyone loves Larkey! It's not anyone's fault a lot of people would love his job. Good jobs draw good people but the Harlan crowd wouldn't know anything about that! Lastly, being down and still having a chance for the semi's means a pretty good program. Not bad if I say so myself. Let's just wait and couple weeks and see how it all plays out. Go HC!

Let's see,the Harlan Co. school system has about 100 special education kid's and they all get $9,000 a year in state funding for thier education. That comes out too about $900,000 a year. Wow!!!! You are right,Wildone and Bearclaw,HC does have enough to buy a great coach and also enough to finish the dressing rooms and maybe even enough for new uniforms next season. Wow!!! You know I'm sure sorry. I never should have questioned what you guy's said about HC having the best in this county or nation even. So what if all those special education kid's have enough therapists to get thier education in. They all should be locked away in their rooms anyway. WE HC people shouldn't have to deal with them out here in the public eye. It just don't look good on the county. We'll let'em all go to the city school. Their just dumb enough up there to try and help them kid's get an education. No,wait if they go to the city, then we don't have their funding. You special Ed kid's better keep on coming to HC. At least until we get the dressing rooms payed for and the new coach and those new uniforms.........
And the City supposed to be jealous of that???? You guy's keep on bringing the good football and we'll keep on educating children the way they should be educated. We been doing it for a hundred years and we'll do it a hundred more if that's what it takes. Plus, if we have time left over then we'll play some football too. Now how bout we talk about Harlan/Hazard next Friday night? Can we do that BC and Wildone? Or are you guy's not thru trashing our thread?

They should change the words of the school fight song to those words above. Sums up the mentality of that place perfectly. Let's see if they change their motto in about 5-10 years when they don't have those county kids in the school to inflate those test scores. Then they can talk about 100 plus years of excellence and ZERO region championships versus our 5 years of football and at least 1 region title

Backwood, your statement just shows how ignorant you are about how money is used in the school systems....special ed. money has nothing to do with facility money....it is totally differnet...building our new football field has NOTHING to do with hiring ANYONE....know what you are talking about before you make a crazy statement like that....NOW, I have SEVERAL special ed. teacher friends and I take offense to what you say about them....THEY work their butts off day in and day out to educate our kids of Harlan Co!!!!!

Do you want to talk about taking offense, then do you think I took offense when the county school gave my son a bogus IEP and then told me they could only give him thirty minutes a month of therapy because they couldn't afford additional therapist. This is a kid with autism. I was informed that the school recieved $9000 to assist in his therapy at the school. Let's see thats 8 mos. of school at 30 mins. per mos.,that comes to 4 hours of therapy for $9000. If you think I didn't take offense to that then that shows your ignorance and I and every Special Education kid in that school take offense to that fact. See,not only did my boy recieve the $9000 but every kid with special need in the entire school system. On top of that his regular classroom teacher's would not give out homework that required a book because the said they were afraid that if they were lost they couldn't affords to replace them. But boy they can sure afford to build the finest sports complex in the entire state. Now,if your special needs kid's were suffering wouldn't you see fit to take a little bit of that $4 million that cost to build, just the stadium, and see to it that they were taken care of first. But see, they had the money to start with and it didn't go to help the kid's.Where did it go dude? It either went into that stadium or someone's pocket. Someone needs to investigate what happens to special education money at that school. I may very well do that. You are lighting a fire sir. It would be the least I could do to help the counties special need kid's. Hah hah,and you are worried about some teacher's feelings. Grow a heart dude. You can't see their need for your own selfish want. Well,HHS could and I applaud their efforts for the special need student's in the city district and I say if there is a parent of a special needs kid that goes to the county, you better be looking closely at what's going on with thier funding at that school. If HHS can do what they do with the funding then something is rotten in Denmark or the county school system. For the life of me I don't see how you can be proud of that and try to throw it up in the face of the city.

Really scared for our safety, pretty sure Williamsburg would have beat our early season schedule (Clintwood, Somerset, LCA, Breathitt, Prestonsburg) six or seven touchdowns.

Williamsburg has a great team, we know that, but we have played great teams for years.

i KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING AT WHEN YOU POINT OUT YOUR SCHEDULE. YOU ARE ACTUALLY INDICATING WILLIAMSBURG HAS PLAYED A WEAK SCHEDULE. i MUST POINT OUT THAT NO CLASS A SCHOOL IN KY. HAS PLAYED A B ETTER SCHOOL THAN ONEIDA TENN. THE BURG PLAYED WITHOUT 5 STARTERS TRUE THEY LOST BY 1 POINT THE GAME ENDED WITH THE BURG ON THE 6 INCH LINE FIRST AND 10. ONEIDA IS RANKED 1 IN TENN IN A CLASS ABOVE WILLIAMSBURG CLASS 1A. GO JACKETS AND HAZARD I HOPE EITHER HARLAND, HAZARD WILLIAMSBURG OR ANY OTHER MOUNTAIN TEAM WINS IT ALL., IF THE BURG CAN'T

If they turn the ball over like in all their losses 3 times or more it will be close, But I say Hazard 49 Harlan 14.

should i remind you that williamsburg was on that tough Harlan schedule and they just kicked the dog poop out of them.

Both teams have really good skill kids this year. This is the first time in several years that Harlan has had the speed to play with Hazard. I believe Harlan could pull off the upset at Hazard this year.

Hazard will win this game. They have played a tough schedule to prepare them for another run at a state title.

R u kidding me..... Somerset,Breathitt could more than likely beat them easily.. Mayfield has played Warren Central and there damn good. Beechwood has played Covington Catholic.. Frankfort has played Frankilin County.. I can keep naming if you want... To say that Onedia is better than any of the teams ive named is just plain out not doing ur homework.. Im not taking nothing away from the Oneida team but Most teams have been a power for years...

Hazard has played a very tough early season schedule to help prepare them for another state title run. Hazard has a very good defense and they are very athletic on offense. I don't think this game will be as close as some think. Hazard wins 35-14.

I am not sure Somerset or Breathitt would beat them easily. People do not understand how good some of these teams in Tenn. are. The best team Williamsburg played last year was Oliver Springs, and they were good. I would love to seen that teams O-Line go against the line from Hazard last year it would have been a great matchup. Oneida is big and have a couple of really good speed guys as well. I think Somerset and Oneida would be a great game. I know nothing about Breathitt and have not seen them play this year. I believe Oneida was a state semifinalist last year, and they are improved this year returning all most all of their starters.

Oneida is a 2A school, and I disagree with your premise that no single A team has played a tougher oponnent. Both Beechwood and Mayfield have played a tougher oponnent. Also give credit to Hazard's schedule. I do not understand all the talk about Williamsburg in this post. Yes we are about half way to the playoffs, but there are so many factors that go into the playoffs. Which team comes in healthy? Williamsburg vs Harlan or Hazard does not happen for some time. So there is no reason to discuss it at this point.

Just heard that meterologists are calling for 3 to 6 inches of rain for tomorrow thru Saturday. It could be a gulley washer for this game. If that favors a team, who do you all think it favors the most? Doesn't Hazard throw the ball a little more this year than they did last year? Harlan has developed a run game so they will not have to totally depend apon the pass like they did last year. Actually, the Dragon's run about 3 to 1 over the pass. Much different look for the Dragon's this year.

I would like for you to play GRC....I bet they beat you worse than Williamsburg did. And third we don't have a coaching dilemma....trust me...we will have coaches coming out of the wood work wanting this job when and IF Larkey decides to leave...I mean we have a mountain power program within 5 years of existance AND we have one if not the nicest football facility in the nation...yes nation.

"one if not the nicest football facility in the nation... yes nation." You don't have the best facility in KENTUCKY!!! Have you been to Lexington Catholic? They could buy your whole place for what they spent just on their FIELD!

Have you seen the news reports about the new $60 million dollar, 18,000 seat high school stadium built for Allen Central High School in suburban Dallas? Look it up and drool!

I think the mountain air is getting to you. You should come down to sea level for a few days to get your head right.

BTW, Harlan wins by less than a touchdown... and yes, when this happens, I WILL be back on here to gloat!

I played on Lex caths field when I was in high school and it was trash compared to belfry or hazards, and their facilities were aging at best. Allen high school's new stadium will be shared between 10 high school teams. Harlan may very well have one of the best facilities in the nation (for one school).

First, when were you in high school? The synthetic turf field at Lex Cath was just installed a few years ago. I've been on it, it's niiiiiiice.

Second, your information about the Allen Eagles new stadium is wrong. How could 10 high school teams, all playing on Friday nights, share ONE stadium? The Jets and Giants do it in the NFL because you can do it with two teams, playing home and away and sometimes on Mondays or Thursdays, but you couldn't do it with as few as three teams.

In west Texas, the Odessa High School Bronchos (yes, they spell it with an "h") and the Odessa Permian Panthers share Ratliff Stadium in the same manner as the Jets and Giants.

However, I've read nothing about the new Allen stadium being shared with anyone, much less NINE other high schools. That's silly.

You get a RUDE, Avery Buttlock....who is your team and where do they play?...we in Harlan County are proud of what we have...we don't need some outsider telling us that our new stadium is trash...sounds like jealousy to me...just sayin.
