Idk if baker is healthy if it makes a difference or not noone can say for sure. Your right you have to play with who you have. And I think the coaches did a good job having the team ready incase baker couldn't go. But nothing got shoved down anyone's throat is all i was saying. No excuses as to why Ashland lost. Why Ashland lost is not going for 2 in ot. That's it right there everyone knew matney was going for 2 and I mean everyone. Also playing man coverage in the td pass an having no defender even near the goal line when it is 4th and 20 why not drop back and keep it in front of you? No. Excuses the players on both teams were even. JC's coaching staff won them the game and some questionable at best decisions by Ashlands lost it. That is it.
OK. That's the type response I would expect for you would make.

In the prediction thread I said it would be a nail biter... Didn't know I'd just about chew my fingers off. Awesome game... Proud to be an Eagle.. Ashland was a very good team also... And by the way there's nothing wrong with giving God the glory for the good things that happen to you..

Wow...i knew ashland was strong, but didnt expect to see this score in the Eagles nest. Hats off to two great ball clubs. Good luck the rest of the way.

That's probably why they passed. Paintsville was on the road last night so you didnt have to worry about holding the chains there. Should have went and asked Coach Hart yourself if you wanted to know. He was an offensive coordinator at EKU, might have more knowledge about that topic.
Great game by both teams. Congratulations JC!
Wasn't saying anything bad about either team, just asked a question, My point was the two first downs were on good solid runs, then they get sacked to be put in the 3rd and long situation. As for the game it seemed to me that both teams were very even but Matney outcoached Hart especially towards the end.
Best of luck down the line to both teams.

They don't need to use officials that give Ironton the edge. But the do anyway. Everytime the the Maulmeisters stripe up it cheapens the greatness surrounding Ironton. It lessens everything lutz did at Ironton.
And please explain why they only call games against out of state trams
Well you need to take your own advice and PLAY ABOVE IT!! I tell you what cheapens a program is whiners like you that act like you never lose without in someway being cheated..And I dont think i have ever seen the crew you refer to in your post at putnam and we have owned you and for 25 years just a fact..So are you saying we are like the globe trotters and bring our refs as you say to all our games? And do u do radio for the tomcats cause you sure sound like it??

I never said they bring the refs with them. What I did say was that Ironton is a good team that doesn't need to use tainted officials to win but choose to use them anyway and use them against only out if state teams. Was the crew in question used against the Columbus teams that came to tank the past few weeks?I have a great deal of respect for Ironton football
Want to remove all speculation then don't have tainted officials that have ties to the booster club. In Kentucky officials aren't picked by the school. They are assigned by a regional secretary.
There is no whining about loosing last night. Two great teams in one of the best games of that series. And there is no one in there right mind could blame the refs for the win or the loss.

You talk out of both sides of your mouth!!! You are saying it when you say we have tainted officials and were did you come up with the boosters club lol? Sure sounds like excuses to me..I bet your the one that wrote the letter to ashland paper lol pure whining..Do officials miss calls sure they do home and away so if you saying we use tainted officials you saying we cheated you..If you honestly belive that the penalties cost you they game in Ironton your a fool pure and simple..And give credit where credit is due tomcat4life..

Just one more thing and this is last time I will respond to you cause I hate beating a dead horse...You wonder why everyone in this area roots for us against you is your holier than tho attitude that most of you have..Acting like that playing at ashland you get the most upstanding officials is BS ask around and you know im right..Whine,cry write letters to the paper whatever you want it doesnt matter..Good luck tomcats hope you make a deep run in the playoffs!!!

Great game... both teams played hard and both will make a run in the playoffs... goodluck to both teams
10-20-2012, 05:34 PM
I not once said refs costs us the game. No I did not. What cost the game was bad tackling, missed assignments, and bad play calling in the second half. There is not a ref alive that hasn't missed a call here or there. But for that crew it's a lot more than a missed call or so. Live up to the greatness and tradition that is Ironton. Remove all doubt, all questions or shut up the na sayers and eliminate the crew in question when playing out if state teams. Sounds to me that could be part of this moralless crew

Pulp Fiction Wrote:Are we gonna have to listen to NotSobadcat and all his Ashland home boys til next season?????
Naw, if it's like it's always been NotsoBAD will get on here in August and blow and blow and blow about how dominate the kitties are gonna be, and as the regular season gets under way he then starts the Ashland superiority rhetoric about how his mighty bobtails are going to grind Johnson Central into oblivian this year. According to him , (and this is every year) , we aint never seen nothing like this years group of super cats. Of course you know, Ashland always gets their tails kicked by JC and then Ashland goes on the road for their traditional drumming in the first round of the playoffs. He then goes into a deep depression and is not heard from again until August of the next year, when we'll all go through this same old song and dance again.. He is so predictable , it's just like clockwork. Oh yeah , there is one more thing. Right after they get thumped at the nest , he'll make his annual rant about the "loud music", the refs, the popcorn not being salty enough, yada, yada, yada and then make his annual phone call to the KHSAA complaining about the conditions at JC. He's so predictable it's just like clockwork. To answer your question Pulp, his season is almost over now, and we'll not hear another whiney word til next August. I guess you've also noticed that his illegitible son, Tomcat Pride has already sunk into great depression. I seriously dont know if he'll ever get over this one, because ya see, he has seen film of JC and all. All this just ain't supposed to happen. He's got it all dissected and broken down to a science, ya know!!

So, we should be good.

The JC QB played a very good game! He threw some really pretty passes and the TD pass in OT was a great pass. JC's passing game has really improved. The deep pass in the Ironton game was the straw that broke their back in that game!

Yes he did, he really throws a nice ball.

And the td pass in ot was ok but was really a much better catch than throw. He is a very good athlete and quick out of the backfield but not great in the passing game.

Huh? Nobody said great, but he is getting pretty good at it. Our offense is just not geared around him throwing it all over the place like you all did with Hunter. I will say that he is much better at it than Elam.

I don't think you got to see Elam at his best due to the fact he didn't have any of his usual receivers. Elam throws a nice deep ball but we didn't have any receivers they could go get or enough pass protection for him to get it off. But you are right he has to improve a lot in the short to Intermediate passing game.

This one goes out too Tomtatfan722000, Hardkock4 and tompuddy4life it does not matter if you lose by 1 or 50 its still like kissing your sister its called second place. When you walk on the field Friday night you bring your best thats why you came up short and Jonhnson Central with the hardware. Elam did not throw a long ball the referees done this and that or best one his knee was down before the ball crossed the line is called excuses.
It takes cahoonas to go for two in OT for the win!!! I did not see anything that resembled that on the visitors side last night. Just the Puddytats!!!
Man up and congratulate the winning team. If you need a shoulder to cry on PM me I can help you.
I can take it. Give it to me! Im one of them there JC Fans!:1:

Yeah I said Elam couldn't throw the long ball cause our best we had to play running back and we couldn't pass protect. That's not making excuses it's discussing the game. I've also said the refs were the best I've seen,Ashland lost cause of bold coaching from JC and questionable coaching from Ashland. The comment about Elam was in response to Bob_seger saying the JC Qb was a Better passer and me saying what Elam does best as a passer didn't happen. In part cause of injuries and In part cause of JC's pass rush. So idk why your calling me out saying I'm making excuses. And as for hard knocks and Tomcat4life they are talking about playing at Ironton. hardknocks isn't even a fan of either team he is a Ironton guy who probably wasn't even at this game. I also know tomcat4life congratulated JC as well. So maybe read the thread and follow the conversation before you call people out on making excuses or not congratulating the winner

The tomcats showed plenty of heart and cajones. JC just took one more risk and made one more play. But to say the tomcats played with no heart or pride is just wrong.

If I were a fan of Johnson Central, I believe I would do a bit less blowing. In reality you haven't won anything yet. Nor are you likely to win anything. The Class 4A championship trophy isn't coming to Eastern Kentucky.

Just got finished watching again and again.
Ashland played with heart but they lost.
Ill congratulate the losing team The Ashland Tomcats they are #1 if it makes you fill better!

If Ashland doesn't get healthy they very well may not make it to Ft.Thomas they are very beat up right now. And with all the injuries they may not make it past Holmes. I hope they get healthy and win that game since it is probably the last game at Putnam and anything other than a W would be a shame.
