I think the KOTM thing is silly, but for arguments sake, KC has not established itself yet to be considered in the big 3 or 4. Bell, Breathitt, Belfry, and JC are the kings with HC entering the court. KC can move into the discussion with a great playoff run. Big wins in big time games over an extended period of time get you the respect you deserve.

Lol just like you did in 2008 an just like you did in 2010 in Mills last year there at your home field.. You've never beat us in the history of your program.. You played HC at home when they were stilll figuring some things out offensively.. Try playing them at their brand new amzing stadium with emotions running high and thousands of fans in the stands

Black Bear Cuz Wrote:I dont see KC being the king of the mountains, you have the luxury of surviving HC earlier this year when they were struggling a little and not really even using Carson Whitehead as a running threat, but the King of the Mountains will not be determined until the end of the year IMO. Also IMO I dont believe KC could beat Bell or HC right now, especially not the Black Bears who seem to have found their stride these last few games. Hats off to Bell for battling back late, but HC was clearly the better team this night and if not for a litte too much early celebrating and loss of focus this would have been at least a 2 score difference.
Say what you want about the panthers but just remember one thing who won on September 21??? Oh yea it was Knox wasn't it. And we will finish this season without a loss to a mountain team can you say that?? I think not!!! Yes Harlan is playing great ball right now but so is Knox.

As far as the King of the Mountains stuff. The Black Bears beat Bell they are now 1-3 against them. Knox beat Harlan County this year, but the Black Bears beat them last year 1-1, and Knox has never beat Bell. So saying Harlan County is King over one win is ridiculous and saying Knox is King because they beat the team that beat the King is absurd. That's like someone catching a huge fish then you take your picture with it and hang it at the boat dock! Harlan County and Knox have earned the right to be mentioned with Bell, Breathitt, and Belfry not to say they are better then them.

I couldn't agree more, Patriot!!

Knox has all the right in the world to use this game as a proof point for our progress over Bell. It was Bell who chose not to play us so its all we have until next year. Get over it. HC dropped a 40 bomb on Bell. They scored 6 on us. On paper, Sounds like Knox would have seen something on the board that starts with a 5 on the points column, like say 55 or so points. Conjecture such as this sucks doesn't it? But when you refused to play us and you robbed two classes of Seniors of the biggest game of the year that is all you have - conjecture. I love Harlan County.

Patriot took the words right out of my mouth, I took heat over this game at work, I work with a women who went to Cawood and a guy that went to Cumberland and they celebrated all day like they had won the Super Bowl, I mean it was just a game were not even in the same class and then when I seem in the Harlan paper the title was Black Bears dethrone the bobcats I was like really give me a break 1st time they beat us and the first time we had lost to a mountain team in a long time maybe woke us up but not dethrone!!!!! GO BOBCATS. And congrats to HCBB it was a great game look forward to next year they have a great team and I look forward to them and my bobcats making deep runs in the playoffs!! LOVE ME SOME MOUNTAIN FOOTBALL!!!

Just to clear things up, it was a pretty big deal that the 5 year old program is already mentioned with the elite of the mountains. Bell worked hard for it to be a big deal to beat them they should take pride in that just the same way I did when Knox had a crowd on the field after they beat Harlan County. That's what football is all about! And for the record I'm feel like I'm being a little to nice to Bell County so.....Bell County Sucks!

It is a pretty impressive feat to accomplish what Harlan County has over the past 5 years.
Bell County will continue to be Bell. There are some very good programs around this area.
Bell County is a 3A school though that every single year has beaten the crap out of 4A, 5A, and 6A schools....

BB CLAW Wrote:The Black Bears came and played their game in an awesome stadium. Hats off to Bell for never giving up. The Bears handed the ball to them late instead of pounding and finishing the game with a 20 point lead. I also want to mention that the Black Bears gave Bell all they could handle last year and also put a stomp on Knox last year as well. Bell cant say NO ONE IN THE MOUNTAINS CAN BEAT US any more. Bell will continue to be a powerhouse team. Fact is Harlan County is too and tonight the Bears dominated!!!!GREAT JOB BLACK BEARS!!!!NOW LETS GET READY FOR THE PLAYOFFS!!!
As I previously said, We gave Bell County all they could handle last year at Bell and I too think Knox needs to man up and schedule the HC Black Bears for next year as well. Why wouldn't they? Don't forget...Cannady was out of bounds on the 4th and 8 catch, his only catch of the night, and that missed call changed the game. Two plays later Knox scored. Knox got the win. Man up Knox. Man up! GO BLACK BEARS!!!!

All kidding aside, HC surprised the heck out of me tonight, much better of a team than I thought they were. I feel like turnovers hurt Bell and hurt them bad. I know HC had a few to, but it's easier to manage them playing ahead than trying to come back. Proud of Bell County tonight for continuing to fight until the final whistle, no matter the score, nearly completed the come back. Thought without a doubt Jonathon Polly was the best player on the field tonight.
I thought Carson Whitehead was.

Carson Whitehead was a beast on the field Friday night!! Really balanced out the attack, IMO. I really appreciated the effort put forward by ALL our team!!
