So much for all the talk about BG blowing out LC. I guess BG fans are still going to say they would pound Highlands.
#4
Congrats to BG and their fans on the victory tonight. This game will be good for both teams moving forward in the playoffs....

Final score Bowling Green 35-21. It was a cold, rainy, nasty night. Perfect for football. Two turnovers deep in their own territory cost the Purples 14 points. Lexington Catholic is a very good team and was just what the Purples needed going into the playoffs. Bowling Green was not able to utilize their speed, especially on defense, because of the field conditions. The Purples were still able to sack their QB eight times. I think Lexington Catholic will do very well in the Playoffs.

Congrats to Bowling Green on their victory.

I think several 5A teams are encouraged by the score of this game and several 4A teams should be a little worried about the score of this game.

Unless they have had their head under a rock,no one is going to be surprised how good Lex Cath is. They are not sneeking up on anybody.

Sloppy fields will hurt a team that relies on speed more than any other team.

I realize you predicted that BG would pound Lex Cath 52-7 i think, but that's not one of your better posts that i have read from you. It was raining almost the entire game. Lex Cath is a passing team. They threw the ball 37 times in a windy, nasty night to be passing, so it goes both ways. Lex Cath moved the ball better than I expected in these conditions. Bowling Green is a very, very good football team and they were in our backfield the entire game, but I never felt like Lex Cath was out of the game until late in the 4th quarter.

Point being is that weather will be the same for both teams and it hinders each team in different ways but there is no way that poor weather caused Lex Cath to play better last night than you think Catholic is capable against a team as good as BG.

Congrats BG. I didn't really expect a blowout, although I do thing BG is definitely a better team. An that isn't a knock on Lex Cath because they clearly are a great team too.

Confusednicker: I just find it funny that fans of theee Highlands University gage how good they are by teams they havent played and will not play....

And yes, BG is much better than Lex Cath.

^Theeee Highlands University, love it.

Sounds like Lex Cath is back in full form, and Purples are a little more in John Hardin's range than prev thought.
Bet it was a great game to watch.

I think you have more of a right to the word "theeee" than Ohio State, there horrible Confusednicker:

Resse Ryan is the real deal. I witnessed it last night. The fact that he moved the LC offense the way he did in his 3rd career start @ BG I was impressed. This is the same Defense that had blanked their last few opponents, but this sophmore played very well.

BG is scary good. I will not be surprised if their win streak goes another 15 games. Solid in all 3 phases and very well coached. Congrats to the Purples.....

Who knows. Maybe Bowling Green played only their jv players and saved their starters for the playoffs.......like Whitley did against Boyle Co. HA!

Neither of these teams could stay within 3 Tds of Highlands.

Neither of these teams care what you think.

I just find it funny how quick BG fans are to say they would destroy (not just beat) Highlands now that they are in different classes and do not have to prove it. Is BG a good team, yes, but they have done nothing more than Highlands to show they would be favored in a match up between the two. I think BG would be a slight under dog.

I don't think I have ever seen a Bowling Green fan say they would destroy Highlands. If they did, they were incorrect.

Wow this score makes you wonder what if bolin was able to play?

Why don't you guys schedule BG? I'm mean Highlands and all their greatness and shit...should be no problem to get a game.

I think the peace is already disturbed in Ft Thomas....all 16,235 watched UK today....

Bowling Green is rarely good enough to warrant a game. They sucked every year Highlands was in the same class. Highlands won 9 titles during that time frame since the mid 90's.. Bowling green was nowhere to be found. They were a sham. Instead the west sent teams like John Hardin and Christian co who lost to highlands by 50.

True, and personally I think the good folks up there owe UK a scholarship back.

I think the good people at UK owe the fans of KY a national search for a coach who knows the game of football!

I agree completely. IMO a resignation is in order.....the AD shouldn't have to request it either. He was Coach in waiting for a while, he could surely become Coach in Waning.
