Kinda disappointed that nobody told me that this game was for sure going to be syed at the new stadium but, I heard the place was absolutely packed and I am glad that the Black Bears were able to get the win!!!
For anyone who went to the game, how bad did the parking get? I heard there was somewhere around 6,000 people in attendance at this game!!

All this talk about who is the king of the mountains because you don't get beat by a mountain team all year is dumb IMO. The only way I would buy this is if someone would play all the best teams from the mountains. Imo the best teams this year are,in no particular order Bell,Knox,Breathitt,Johnson,Belfry,Somerset,Williamsburg and Hazard. I think if you beat every team on this list then you could say you are the king of the mountains. I think a lot of the teams on this list could beat the other on any given night. But even if you did beat all the teams on the list what does it prove. IMO the true king of the mountains is the team who can bring a championship home to the mountains and that would make Hazard the reigning king of the mountains untill someone else can bring one home.:eyeroll:

You don't think Harlan County is one of the best teams in the mountains? I think you picked the Bears to beat Whitley and Bell, so I am guessing that you didn't mean to leave them out.

Just think what kind of crowd you could put together if there was some way to schedule a series between Knox Harlan Bell and belfry. Who wouldn't want to see something like that? I also think that it should be played at Harlan since they have the biggest place to host a event like this. Any thoughts on this

The Mountain Bowl!!!! Oh, I love it!!!
The loser could be thrown into the Cumberland River! A feat easily done from the visitor's stands!! LOL
Oh and by the way Gut, THIS A Hole loves LeeCoUKFan!! And....what's the deal calling us A Holes in the first place???
Mod....Oh Mod!!!

I would LOVE this, week 0-1, interchange opponents by year. That would be a HUGE revenue bowl game, and maybe then we could drop Middlesboro. I get tired of watching that mauling. Heck, I'd enjoy if we expanded the city/county bowl and invited a Whitley County, Harlan, Belfry or even Breathitt to join into it each year. Huge revenues for that either way you look at it. Huge Friday/Saturday double headers with the top mountain teams in the area up at Harlan would be fantastic..

Quote:I think its funny how KC thinks they are king of the mountains because someone knocks off Bell since they couldnt do it.Sure you are having a great year but are you forgetting how HC beat you last year?
Seems to me KC beat HC THIS year bro. The rankings are based on year to year, not over a decade of play. Logically, KC beat HC, HC beat Bell. Bell was #1, KC was #2 that would move KC into the #1 spot or should if you are taking into account only mountain games. IMO, KC beats Bell this year, but we will never get to see that happen since they didnt play or probably wont while Mills is there(which may be a short lived tenure).

Bell and Knox are all ready on schedule for next season.

Bell is King of the Mountains because only two mountain teams have beat them since 2006 (just so happens Harlan Conty is one of those teams), there are no rankings for King of the Mountain. I'm guessing that's something WYMT started calling Bell. What rankings had Knox#2? The only poll for mountain teams is WYMT's Mountain Top 10. Which was #1 Bell, #2 Belfry, #3 Knox, #4 Harlan County.
I would hate to figure it out this week!

It would be nice to see the city/county bowl be Bell Vs. Mboro, and Whitley Vs. Corbin every year, and have it played at Cumberland and Union and rotate those two and obviously have it during the day on a saturday, becayse the fields dont have lights.

1 Belfry
2 HC
3 Bell
4 Knox
The only logical thing I could think of, you cannot drop Bell below number 3 just because and I dont think you can bump HC above Belfry just because. Yes Knox did beat HC and they were ranked ahead of them at that time but taking into account that the way HC is playing now and won 3 straight Dist. titles and Knox come in 2nd in their Dist. Well this is the top 4 the way I am saying it.

HC has two of those 3 on their schedule for next year...if Knox hadn't of dropped us we would have had all 3 that where mentioned above.

Thanks WYMT for the coverage (I love my DVR). This was 2 power house teams going toe to toe for 48 minutes. When it looked like HC had all but won here came those Bobcats clawing back. Great game by both teams. I look for both to make deep runs in the playoffs.
IMO the Polley kid from Bell was the best player on the field. Both teams have great players, but IMO Polley stood out the most.
Good luck to both in the playoffs.

A big bowl game each year with the site rotating each year? Bell vs harlan, Knox vs belfry or Whitley and change it yr to yr? Thoughts?

I don't care about the site rotation, these bowl games would generate a great rivalry and huge revenues for the hosing school. I love this idea!!!!

This would be great if anyone could get the powers to be to go along with it. Lets make it Knox, Harlan, belfry, breathitt, Whitley, and bell 6 teams changeing yr to yr or we could get 2 more teams and make it a Friday Saturday event!! Now that would be great.
