Having seen both teams, I have to pick Boyle, but not for the reason some would think. Honestly I was more impressed with the athletes that RC put on the field, but Boyle was cleaner and executed better over the course of the game. But that is not even the reason I am picking Boyle.
It comes down to mind set. Boyle KNOWS deep inside that they are going to win the game. RC thinks (and hopes) they can win the game. Why do I know this?
Next year Boyle will play the Colonels again and will the year after that. RC dropped the Colonels due to the fact that they are not going to be good next year since they are graduating so many good players. It is mind set that you can compete and beat any team, any year, any where. RC does not have that, what they have is the best team in their school history and one of the best running backs in the state and some other great players but what they do not possess and probably never will is the confidence that they can play nose to nose with a team that is a team that they aspire to be, but do not have the gumption to take the hits that it takes to be that team.
Mind Set........it will be the difference in the game.

Boyle and Russell both have great kickers.Boyle has a very good quarterback but Boyle wont be able to run the ball effectively against Russell...Russell has plenty speed and they are being underestimated. Lakers will win the Region.

Are you kidding me Ruseell County has good juniors, and a few good sophomores, want be as good next year but still pretty good . They know that they can beat anyone they play, Boyle being one.

Boyle dose not rely on the run as much as you think, ask whitley.if they win the region it will be because of Casey Whittle's arm,not running the ball evey play.

The last three games Boyle has thrown for 737 yards and ran for 677 yards. Pretty balanced in my opinion. So don't think by any means Boyle is one dimensional. Whittle has been throwing well and making good decisions, the receivers are making some very good plays and not dropping passes, and the line is giving time to pass the ball, while also opening up good holes for the run.

This Boyle County team would beat Russell County's 1992 team by 4 TD's. I mean who cares? No relevance to this game at all.

I don't think a single Laker fan has garunteed a victory against anyone they just don't appreciate the blatant disrespect to an obviously talented team. I actually think the winner of the Boyle/Russell game will win the region championship.
I agree. Not trying to count Catholic out but that was my prediction as well.
