Garrard County 12 Russell 7
#1
Heck of a ballgame, Russell had many chances to win it, and just couldn't get it done in the end.
#2
Great job Garrard County!!!!
#3
Congratulations on the win Garrard County, and good season Devils. Work hard in the off season and come back stronger and better Devils.
#4
I hope Googie Hayes didn't further aggravate his injured knee.
#5
Just a few thoughts on the game.GC has a nice d..# 14 is a heck of a player...the coach for GC on top off the press box should be repremaned for the way he acted and the choice words he used...heck of a game thought russell controlled most of it from the 2nd quarter on.
#6
Gutsy effort from both teams. Heck of a game. Russell sure had their opportunities.
#7
congrats to GC
#8
Both teams fans should be proud of them after this one. You can knit pick the little things but you couldn't fault the effort from both teams.
#9
Good win Garrard Co. Russell let me down in this one..
#10
Probably the best game I've watched all season.
#11
It was a dandy.
#12
I knew that Garrard is picking up steam at the right time! Sounds like it was a heck of a game!

Congrats, Garrard Co!
#14
How is Googie Hayes knee? Will he be good to go for basketball?
#15
Don't know about his knee but that was great effort on that tackle that saved a TD and gave his team a chance to win the game. I hope it's ok.

One of the best games they, Russell, played all year. Garrard Co. #14 is a tough player. The play calling is still :hilarious:? Evans showed he can throw the ball if they have the plays in the play book (NOT). Good year players.
#17
sounded like two hard nosed country fed teams going head to head. Love those kind of playoff matchups!

In going to shock you a bit. I still think you are grinding that ax a bit, but I agree with you that the play calling was questionable.

The offense is fine. We ran multiple formations last night. Something that takes away the defenses keys. We threw the ball a little bit. That was fine. But some of the play calling in short yardage and goal line situations was suspect. 3rd and 1, 4th and 1 run a QB sneak with a 6'5" QB. We ran 1 screen. Teams fly in pursuit and stack the strong side. Use the play action and throw it back weak side. That's what I would have run on 1st and 10 at the 12 with 1:30 in the game. The offense itself isn't predictable. The play calling is.

I'm not ripping the coaches here either. The defensive adjustments were fine and I thought they really brought some fire out of the team after another slow start.

You had to appreciate the effort. Again I congratulate both teams on a great effort.

It was a world class fit he was throwing up there. NC 17 rated.
