Every year when Highlands plays an Eastern KY team all we ever hear about is how much "heart" they have, or how "fired up" they are. But lets be real. Do you not think that the Highlands plays are "fired up" or that they dont have "heart." When the game is over its not going to matter how fired up one team was or how much heart a team has, it matters how much a team mentally prepares for the game, and how the team has physically prepared throughout the season. Having gone through the Highlands program and comparing my experience to my friends experiences, who played elsewhere throughout the state, I can tell you that Highlands prepares both mentally and physically well beyond anyone in the state. This is the reason Highlands will win Friday night.

That way is according to mapquest.com. They do not always give the quick way, just one with few turns. It gets you there.

Wise one Wrote:I don't know about their next win, but to get from the AA highway to Highlands, mapquest advises:
1. Take the US-27 ramp toward Alexandria/Cold Spring.
2. Turn right onto Alexandria Pike/US-27 for 2.9 miles to
3. Stay straight to go onto I-471 N for 4.2 miles to
4. Take the KY-1120/Memorial Parkway exit, EXIT 4, toward Bellevue/Newport
5. Merge onto Memorial Pky/KY-1120 E toward Bellevue for 2.3 miles to.
6. 2400 Memorial Pkwy on the left.
There are shortcuts, etc. However, for someone not familiar with the area, this will get you there with no problems.

Heart and emotion are fine. They are great ingredients for pep rallies and church revivals. However, when the game is played, talent wins nearly every time. FTH has the vastly superior talent in this one.

That would be to stay home in Ashland and see if you can get Brossart to come to town.

Also worth considering are 1) Rio Grande on Carrother's Road in Newport, very good Mexican food and reasonably priced. Try the Burrito Carne Asada, 2) Newport Pizza on Monmouth Street in Newport, just a couple of blocks from the Levee, 3) Skyline Tavern on John's Hill Road in Highland Heights overlooking the campus of NKU. Good burgers and wings. In the good ol' days I recommended Ft. Thomas Pizza, but after a change of ownership, I don't do that anymore.

As we approach game time, I want to thank everyone who has posted in this thread for making the week a bit more interesting (On a personal note, it has been a diversion from the election results).
It is unusual for an opponent of FTH to fight fire with fire. Most accept the inevitable, and accept reality. Ashland fans, though I think ill advised, took to the offensive. Good for them.
I hope all you Ashlanders have a safe trip and that you have an enjoyable meal while in our area. And, I hope you will join us next week when FTH plays CovCath for the regional championship.

The prices Online seem reasonable but is the quality and quantity good enough?Joes Crab Shack is not seafood. You might as well go to Kroger and pick up a frozen Sea Pak of breaded shrimp. Sucka please.

The AA Highway can be dangerous after dark. All should be very careful and go light on the fire water.

Highlands will be tested by Ashland but will prevail by several scores in the end. I'm thinking HHS 52, Asland 21.
