I heard that the last Central score was laid out on a red...er yellow carpet if you know what I mean. I don't know the nature of the penalties but Central went the length of the field very quickly on the back of several Cardinal penalties.

No one is invincible.

Congrats to Central on getting the W. Sounds like Wayne put up a great fight. Didn't think this one would be near this close. Cardfan, have to disagree with you on your post. Trinity and Highlands are pretty much invincible in this state.
#10
Congrats to Wayne on a great season.

With star quarterback Taeshawn Gibbs sidelined with a concussion, backup Sydney Tedford led the Central High School football team on a game-winning fourth-quarter drive to lift the Yellowjackets over visiting Wayne County 21-18 in a second-round 3-A playoff matchup Friday night.

Gibbs was knocked out of the game just before halftime, but still managed a game-high 107 yards rushing on 11 carries.

Trailing 18-14 with 1:18 to play, Tedford, a junior, found Devonte Yelder for a 60-yard score. Tedford finished with 123 yards on 4-of-9 passing.

"He's always got to be be ready and tonight he did some great things for us," Central coach Ty Scroggins said of the second-stringer. "That last fourth-quarter drive was big."

Wayne County's Tyler Guffey threw for TD strikes of 75 and 10 yards to lead the Cardinals (10-2).

The Yellowjackets (10-2) take on Bell County next Friday.

Wayne County 6 0 6 6 18
Central 0 14 0 7 21

W - Kyle Gehring 75 pass from Tyler Guffey (kick failed); C - Devonte Yelder 14 pass from Taeshawn Gibbs (Idriss Kera kick); C - Deris Cox 1 run (Kera kick); W - Logan Gardner 10 pass from Guffey (pass failed) W - Guffey 3 run (run failed); C - Yelder 60 pass from Sydney Tedford (Kera kick).

NO way the refs "cheated" against their own kind! Did Wayne County have officials playing on there team? "their own kind!" What kind of statement is that?

A racist statement saying the refs were white is how I take this....

Yes racism is a terrible disease and it does go both ways.

I am not starting anything, I wasn't there and I didn't listen to the game. My statement was based off of up dates posted through out the game on message boards, by those either at the game or listening to it.

Congrats Central on the win and Congrats Wayne Co on a fantastic season.

Whats up with the "Their own kind" statement

It wasn't a racist statement it was a political statement. The refs were republicans as was wayne countys staff and players.. Yeah thats what he meant.
#25
I do apologize for that statement. However history shows us that the referees have NOT & will NEVER cheat FOR central, Central is not EVER going to get questionable or close calls NEVER !!!! when Central wins they have to blatantly outplay their opponent . To insinuate refs cheating for Central is completely ludacris.
Those who called me out for a subliminal (perceived to be) racist comment , I'm glad no forms of racism exist in the melting pot we call Kentucky ! psych ! It's alive & well , you've been taught to pretend like it's over & be scared to address it. Kentucky is one of the MOST segregated states in the US.
#26
There will be no racism from either side on Log Mountain this Friday.:yikes:
#27
Very surprising score!
#28
I just read your comments Coachdad and it sickens me about what you said....get over it....that is so stupid to think that refs's are prejudice...that is almost laughable if it wasn't so sickening.

Racism starts with 1 person, not a region or state. Yes racism does exist, but it only takes 1 person to start that ball rolling. I choose not to be racist. If someone is racist against me, that is there problem. But anyway, glad you cleared that subliminal (perceived to be) comment. Confusednicker: I've read some of your posts and you seem to be a smart guy that does know the game of football. I haven't walked a mile in your shoes and don't know what you've seen or went through in years past, but I choose to give each and every person the benefit of the doubt before casting my judgement on that 1 individual. In my judgement your a good guy that just stuck his foot in his mouth......or his foot in his keyboard......or hit enter before he thought.....whatever the case may be, no harm no foul.
