It was actually from top to bottom a really solid show.

I have not watched a TNA PPV in months. There was nothing about the card that interested me enough to spend 3 hours on it. I can honestly say, the stupidity of the Aces and 8 angle caused me to "turn the channel".

I, actually, bit the bullett and gave this ppv a try.

Joe over Magnus was a very good match and helped to elevate Magnus within the company by giving Joe such a tough match. Although no one has really cared about Joe in a while, Magnus kicking out of the muscle buster is a big deal. I thought they rushed the finish of the match after that, though, but that is just my opinion. On a side note, I do not understand why a referee only checks the arm one time on the Kokina Clutch when they normally check 3 times on the sleeper.

The knockouts tag match and the knockout tag titles are both an absolute waste of time and a waste of 4 pretty good talents. ODB vs. Tara and/or EY vs. Godderz would have been alot better. Tara is hands down the best female wrestler in either company right now and ODB is solid and entertaining. EY has been reduced to comic relief but the fans genuinely like him. Jesse Godderz, whom I've met and is a good guy, is being wasted in this lower card slot.

RVD over Joey Ryan was okay. RVD being X division champion would be like Lebron James playing in the Rookie All-Star game. He is way above this caliber of competition. Joey Ryan, God bless him for having a job, is a mid-level indy guy, on his best day. This match did nothing for either man. The possibility of RVD vs. Matt Morgan doesn't really excite me either, but is alot more viable than Joey Ryan

Doc over Parks was good for what it was. First of all (mini-rant), why does TNA insist on giving guys one name only. Doc, better known as Luke Gallows, is an absolute dry name in the likes of Gunner, Murphy, Crimson, etc. On the other hand, I thought this match did a very good job of developing the Joseph Parks/Abyss storyline. As for the way the Aces and 8s storyline is coming along, I would look for Glacier to be the leader when it is all said and done. Just kidding. In reality, it has almost been reduced to mid-card status, at this point

Angle over Devon kills the Aces and 8s momentum even further and firmly cements Devon's status as a lower-midcard performer, which is a shame. To have Angle submit Devon and escape the evil clutches of the nefarious Aces and 8s clan kills any momentum that they may have had. This match was strictly filler.

Hernandez and Chavo over Kaz/Daniels was an excellent match and, unlike the WWE, made the tag belts feel worth something. I have long been a Chavo fan even from his days in "the WCW". Also, Hernandez, in my opinion is a star waiting to happen. Big, muscled up and agile along with solid wrestling abilities. If he were to develop a stronger personality, he could be main event material (I may be in the minority on that). Kaz and Daniels may be the best true tag team in either WWE or TNA. Good match and the right result.

I thought Storm, Roode and Styles delivered the goods in the semi main. Very interested to see what Styles does for the next year. Storm has come a long way and is an established main eventer for TNA right now. Roode,in my opinion again, should still be the TNA champion and this match left all 3 in a very good place.

No one on the planet has been harder on Jeff Hardy than I have and I have to admit that, last night, he proved why he is the slot that he is in. That was one of the very best ladder matches that I have seen. Aries is great as a heel and Hardy takes the craziest bumps in the history of wrestling on a consistent basis. Keep in mind too, that Hardy is in his mid/late 30s at this point and the body does not recover from those bumps like they did 10-12 years ago. Very, very good match.

Overall, I think the top two matches on this card along with Magnus-Joe show that TNA needs to go ahead and kill off the aces and 8s gimmick. It has ran to long and if they wrap it up right now, people may actually give a crap. The guys that are actually doing the wrestling in TNA right now are more than capable of putting on a show that people will watch. After last night, Aces and 8s are about as relevant to the main event as Boss Winters and Ruff & Ready (if you get that, you truly are a mark. lol)
