TheRealThing Wrote:Can you believe the contempt people have for enterprise these days? All politics are as they presently exist anyway, is the government using people's own bias and ignorance against them in order to control their behavior. We got bozo's walking around all over the place parroting talking points like they know what they're talking about.A little off topic, but there is a five year lifetime limit on welfare benefits. Let me know if you are getting ready to have church, I'll leave.
When folks allowed activists to seperate the actions of lawmakers from any accountability to the precepts of Godly morality we as a nation immediately lost our compass. We don't have any thing higher than our own selfishness to guide our actions nowadays. That's why career welfare recipients were more than okay with voting for Obama, they don't really care if America goes down the tube in the near future or not. They want what they want for today, and the heck with everybody else. As a people, if we were in any way responsible to God for our actions, we would never be acting the way we are. Arguing over the use of our natural resources for instance, for crying out loud, God put them there for us to use. But no, the earth worshippers misplaced reverence before 'mother earth' has them bowing at the altar of the environmentalist. I used to laugh at the notion that the people of Egypt worshipped Ra, the sun god. Until I realized that the environmentalist now holds all of our futures in his hand. We are no more the wiser than the pagans who worshipped the sun, turning our backs on the Living God to worship His creation, (the earth). America has lost the vision of truth. We don't hold our leaders responsible, nor do we hold ourselves responsible. We excuse bad behavior on every level, is there any wonder God wrote the following passage to describe man's behavior towards the end?
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (KJV)
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

It's easy for one to get upset when you see someone own that big house, or pulling in a lot of money. But this is America, and nothing, even Obama, is stopping anyone from being able to work like they have never worked before and achieving the ability to produce a high level of income.
The top 20% of income earners pay 90% of federal income taxes. Not to mention, they are also known to give a very large sum of money to charity. There are some greedy people, yes, but they earned it! It's their money!
If you think the rich should give more to charity, why don't you become rich yourself and do so? Nothing is stopping you.

Is a community agitator part of the private sector? Law school lecturer (never a professor of any kind; not even an instructor which is the lowest wrung of the ladder), state senator, U.S. Senator, president- none of these is the private sector. Are you counting his cup of coffee with his wife's law firm as the private sector job? Weak at best.
Wait a minute. Did he peddle any of that dope he was using on a regular basis? If so, that might qualify.

As for what I call Obama, that is my business. Just be assured that whatever I call him is applicable. One term I will never have to use in describing him is "competent".

LOL, no it is not off topic. America is spiralling out of control. Our once rock solid system of government is rife with scandals of every sort. Lies are the norm and truth is exception. Even the director of the CIA is willing to risk all for a fling or two. Personal integrity is a concept you freely laugh at, citing instead the right to participate in whatever vices one may choose. Character, suffers the same contempt, if Jay Carney gets up and lies to the American people at every press conference, no big deal. Liberals minimize the incessant lies coming down from the hallowed halls. While we have self proclaimed geniuses walking around who are unable to grasp the basic concept that truth is requisite to any successsful function of government. FWIW, we have 2nd and 3rd generation successors on welfare.
It has gotten to the point where nobody believes anybody. Only the wilfully ignorant can truly say they can swallow the amateurish smoke and mirror job coming out of DC. Even those of average intelligence can see right through the thinly veiled attempts to spin the obvious, in a effort to fabricate a shaky house of cards such as the self conflicting comments by administration officials about the Benghazi scandal. The whole world is laughing at the guilibility of the average American. In a way I hope Kentucky does successfully secede from the union. All told, petitions have been filed on behalf of 20 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

Well, you are 100% correct. And you will be paying for all these NEW people getting insurance. Why will you be paying for it, well, because those people will no longer have JOBS, and your desire for EVERYONE to have handouts will ensure that everyone gets free insurance, free cellphones, free foodstamps, free.... ah, nevermind, it's no use trying to explain anything to the blind....
This was just another example of you voting, and not even knowing what you were voting for. May not have changed your vote, but thanks for helping us all know that you didn't - KNOW!

TheRealVille Wrote:Well good. More people will get insurance. No, more people will not be getting insurance. More people will be working 28 or 29 hours a week. Obamacare is providing an incentive for companies to cut the hours of what are currently part time employees, who would become full time employees when the law takes effect - except that is not how the real world works.
The law will create jobs, as young part time workers will be forced to look for second jobs to make up for the hours that Obamacare will cost them.
