Breathitt Co @ Belfry 11/16/12
Cat Daddy Wrote:I couldn't agree with you more. Breathitt is on another level.

Put Henry Clay on your schedule instead of Hazard.
Another note to that HC game, arguably our best defensive player (Ghormley) was out. No excuses, but just saying ...
No disrespect, but anyway I would hope the Breathitt County fans bring their earplugs, because if not they will leave the Cam with deaf ears because my "BUDDIES" who operate the horn are gonna have a field day with this "ONE". Your 11 against our 11, WE WILL SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I"LL take our eleven everytime. Go Pirates
EKUAlum05 Wrote:I am not saying Warren flings it around like Kyle Moore or for that matter Richard Trent...but I have a feeling you are about to be surprised when you see this kid play. I try to check my bias at the door as much as possible, but if you put Warren into a pass oriented offense he is putting up huge numbers. He was the MVP of the WKU QB Camp this Summer and brings a skill set to the option QB position Belfry hasn't had in a long time.

Ultimately I hope Belfry never has to put it up a single time.... but I think I speak on behalf of Belfry fans every where when I say that Warren has the utmost of our confidence in throwing the football.

Maybe so, but it seems like that's the story ost every year
with Belfry"oh our QB can throw we just don't have to." then
when it comes time that they have to, they can't. At all. And
that's just something that's manifest among teams at
the high school level that focus overwhelmingly on power
running. but hey it works for them most of the time so
you dance with who brung you.
You think Bourbon is a one trick pony?

You can throw the Henry Clay's, JC's and Hazard's wins out the window. These games are history. I know for a fact that Haywood hasn't even mentioned one of these teams this week, nor has Breathitt's staff. Our boys have "one" goal, and that's to get back to Bowling Green for some unfinished business. One week at a time, and this week its Breathitt's time. It's gonna be a long week for us fans, tensions will build as if your gonna get to run out there yourself. There's nothing better than Friday night football, especially when the stakes are this high. There's gonna be some sad fans around ten o'clock Friday night. No hard feelings, but you Bobcats better enjoy this week. Our young men will not let us down. Like I said, "It's Unfinished Business":USAFlag:
I would LOVE to watch this game!!
It will be a barn burner, no doubt..

Good luck to both teams; injury free game!!
I will be pulling for Belfry to win. I do think this will be everything it has been built up to be in a game. I know Sani is a good QB, but with less than 10 pass attempts a game i just dont think they have worked him enough to be effective when needed. I know, I know, we dont have to pass. Well eventually you will, and when you do i just dont think it will be effective enough.

I agree with what another poster said in that Trent will be the best player on the field, and Shouse arguably the 2nd best. Players 3-22 would probably be wearing red though.

I think Breathitt is the better team offensivly and Belfry the better defensive team. Defense wins championships, but in this case i think Belfry is to one dimentional on offense to pull out the W. I hope i'm wrong cause i will be pulling for the boys in red, but i just think Breathitt pulls it out late in this one.

EKUAlum05 Wrote:I buy this argument. Trent, IMO, is the premier player in EKY this season. Heck I would even buy Shouse being the 2nd best player...

The problem is I think Belfry has numbers 3-8 (Johnson, Messer, Carr, Warren, Ghormley, Robinson) and also has the lion's share of the next group of players as well (Mullins, Taylor, Hatfield). This isn't even getting into debating the guys in the trenches.
The most athetic kid on that field will be Tony Messer ....that young man is an athlete.....and I bet Trent hasn't been stuck this year like he will be Friday....
For the Belfry fans who haven't got to see much of Trent and the Bobcat offense I found their offensive plays from the Somerset game online.

Man Trent is fun to watch at QB....

belfry to tough for bc they could not stop the sophmore running back last year and now he is a junior what make them think they can stop him now. def is weaker.bc got its hands full.:redboxer:

Come on bogangles. We all know Justin is a great athlete but he is not going to beat Breathitt by himself. He'll have several teammates on the field with him doing what THEY need to do for him to be able to make the runs and get the yardage he gets. Without them, where would he be? Give credit where credit is due.

THIS is the type of problem I see with this years team. Last years Pirates were self-less. They were NOT about "me" or "I". It was about "US". Some adults could learn from that group of young men. The sad part of this is not all the kids are like this. It's more parents and just a few kids who act like this.

Give the entire TEAM credit. They WIN as a team and they LOSE as a team. Go Pirates!
Belfry all the way love those Pirate...lots of noise going to be coming from Cam Stadium Friday Night....
:howdy:Belfry 36 breathitt 28 tough one for me to choose going with the home team :notbad:Confusedmoke:

I'm sorry but I'm not impressed...... IMO if Belfry had Breathitts schedule Sani would have higher stats and trenity, josh, and Justin would have over a 1000 yards each....the O line can't hold our D line.....
there are a lot of pirate fans on bluegrassrivals not enough breathitt fans so it dont really show who will win, only friday can determine who wins, i'm proud to say im for my breathitt county bobcats, i wish the best of luck and i hope no one gets hurt and hopefully good sportmanship. I will be there to watch but this should be a great game to watch.
last time I was at CAM breathitt pulled off with a win and we went to state, i think the score was 12-14, i know this is something both teams want but the team that will win will be the ones that put there heart out there and play like they have never played before, & if you get behind by a touchdown dont give up there are always miracles, always be proud to be out there on that field no matter what you guys are a team. I believe Breathitt can do it just because people are doubting you guys don't let that effect what you think & the outcome.
Im not putting breathitt down in anyway but when it comes this time of year they are really not prepared because they play such a weak schedule through the year and I don't care what anyone says. That hurts your chances in the playoffs. Belfry wins 28 to 27.
ckns,

I wouldnt read too much into the poll on here reflecting that people are "doubting the Bobcats". Belfry has by far the largest contingency on this site, who would you expect them to pick? There is no "underdog" emotional play that can be made in this game. Neither team doubts the other. This one is all about execution, protecting the football, and individual effort on every single play.
Let me speak for Pond Creek as a whole, and I'm sure that anyone who agrees can like my little post here, but...

I BELIEVE IN SANI WARREN.

The team as a whole, included, but for those who say Sani hasn't thrown enough to be effective if needed, I disagree. Anyone who watched Ashland and JC can tell you, Sani can handle it. I believe in Sani. I think it's damn important for him to know the ENTIRE Pond Creek nation believes in him as our QUARTERBACK, whether he's making the reads on option plays or slinging it to Huddle, Taylor, and Messer... I believe in and trust my quarterback.
Oh and for the record ... I am a Richard Trent fan. Love his game and competitiveness as well as his well rounded skill set, him alone would make Breathitt a tough out (Not to mention Fugate, Cox, Shouse, etc.) I respect the Bobcats. Just don't like 'em Tongue

Please! Our offensive line is one of the best in the state! We'll see Friday when your D line runs into the brick wall! AKA our offensive line! We respect Belfry they always have a good team but don't think we're gonna just come over there lay down and say go ahead you guys win we quit these boys don't know the meaning of the word quit!!!!! Go Bobcats beat Belfry!:worthy:
