Obamacare is providing an incentive for companies to cut the hours of what are currently part time employees, who would become full time employees when the law takes effect - except that is not how the real world works.Somebody's got to do the work. Maybe the owners will step up.
The law will create jobs, as young part time workers will be forced to look for second jobs to make up for the hours that Obamacare will cost them.

If the limit had been set at 15 hours, then the same thing would have happened except part time employees would have been working three jobs instead of two. The same number of hours, just a whole lot more hassle. I am glad that most of those young people who will suffer the consequences of Obamacare voted for Obama at least once. The school of hard knocks works wonders for some people.

^ I am an owner. I CANNOT afford to provide insurance PLUS a 5-9% tax increase that has been outlined. A typical response for someone who does not know what they are talking about. Sure, I'd LOVE to say that our business will go from a 20% net profit and I can begrudgingly give up 5% of my profit margin. But you seem to be a pretty smart person (at least I used to think so
), the average small business owner has less than a 5% profit margin, so guess what TRV.....Can a smart guy like you figure it all out??? I sure wish you could have before last Tuesday.
Can you HONESTLY say you understood the consequences? You seriously did not. I don't blame you, and I guess my frustration with this nation is the frustration I have conveyed AT YOU. You really did not know. You believed in a doctrine, but you just did NOT KNOW the true impacts of the proposed policies of the administration. It was the classic "lead the sheep to slaughter". This is very real TRV, very real. The reason that business, big and small warned the country was not because they were trying to protect themselves - as much as they were trying to protect you. Instead, the uneducated has spoken, and what they said is give me more handouts and feed me for free. And they will get free food, from you and I, as long as we are still working.....

Union people have to be the most self-centered people on earth. It's like a cult. Me, me, me, me, me. Doesn't matter if our nation gets run down in debt or if companies aren't able to hire more workers due to being slammed with the cost of obamacare.

There are many decent, honest, and hard working union members in this country who understand that unions can exist in the private sector only while companies are allowed to prosper in a free market. Most union thugs now work in the public sector, where they need only support the Democratic Party to keep a job.

Could you compete without having your union around to abuse the system?
If this were truly a free nation and all workers competed on their own for work, as it should be, how would you union boys fare?
Wouldn't you oppressive wage and benefit demands need to be reduced to a reasonable figure in order to get work in an honest manner?

Millions of Americans manage to earn a good living in business sectors where nobody is represented by unions. In a healthy economy, companies compete for labor, which drives up wages. Our economy is sick and there is no reason to believe that it will get well anytime soon. Obamacare is just another nail in the coffin.

So what man? I don't care about your union. The great thing about America is, if you don't like your job then you have the freedom to go elsewhere. You have the freedom to take on a career of your choice, to take on a job of your choice. Sometimes that is not the most comfortable thing to do. But, it's better than voting someone in that is just going to give more handouts.

You can't give me advice on the differences in the two. For 23 years, I have made about a third more, so it isn't changing with the times. Has our economy been sick for 23 years?

Has our economy been sick for 23 years?During the summer after I graduated from high school, I made the equivalent of $29.49/hr. (in 2012 dollars) as an unskilled general laborer in a coal mine. I considered myself grossly overpaid for the type of work that I was doing. Because of illegal strikes that summer, I only got to work about every other day. That was my last union job. I was not surprised at the fast decline of the UMWA. Too many thugs, starting at the very top of the organization.

As a bonus, I never have to worry about showing up to work to face cowardly union goons on picket lines wearing ski masks and armed with guns and clubs. Those guys were a minority in the UMWA, but roving pickets cost a lot of good men and women many days of work with their illegal wildcat strikes.

As a bonus, I can work six months a year, and do pretty well, if I choose, without dragging my family all over the country. You live your life and work, and I'll live mine. The UMWA has a long tradition of violating the terms of the contracts that they sign. It is part of the reason that they have fallen on hard times. They seem to have calmed down considerably since they have lost so many members over the past few decades.
You keep boasting that you can live well working only six months a year, but people in your trade usually work only during the warm months, don't they? That is unless they decide to spend winters somewhere down south. I have cousins who have worked as pipe fitters for years and I believe that they also take off the winter months but only because there is no work within a reasonable weekly commute from their homes.

He's giving away 2 million free pizzas this year. They are probaly the $5 dollars ones, so let's add that up.......2,000,000 x 5 = 10,000,000. He said Obamacare is going to cost him $8,000,000. Don't give pizzas away free, and he will be 2 million dollars ahead. Me thinks it's just politics, since he was heavily backing Romney. Just sayin.........

LOL, TRV, everytime you show that you truly did not know the facts of a topic, you jump up and change the topic. You show ignorance to facts (which I have already pointed out here several times) to each topic, same as what you tried to spin above about Romney's policies on Right to Work. You have made such a point to talk about YOUR right to work, yet your vote immediately took the right to work of thousands of citizens that were working. So, your ignorance to policy does not have to make you feel sorry for me, or all the jobs that YOU immediately cost other American's.
You arguments have now reached zero credibility. You have shown since the election your political ignorance of your own party. The party that you voted for, you don't even know what their plans were (which I have already proven to you). Now you actually want people to think you know the policies of the party you voted against? Laughable, and thus has made you an easy target for the sharks on this social media site. You were someone that I thought could see through the political BS of both parties and truly educate themself in what the actual policies were - not those from the media or the right and left wing wacko's, but truly know the policy. But you showed yourself like the rest of those who voted and didn't have a clue what they were voting for.
LOL, and don't worry,I know you don't care about what I think, but you allowed yourself to think in arguments with Hoot, Bob and others, instead of really understanding what you were voting for. Now don't come back and try to say you did, because it's already been proven on here that you didn't.
Good luck to you and the rest of America. Half this nation voted for freebies and socialism philosophy without knowing "The Rest of the Story". As we support more and more of the unemployed, as our retirement funds dry up, as all of our taxes increase - you can always say "I Won" :Shaking:

^ No, it's not about disagreeing on who to vote for. It's ALL about making educated decisions, not guessing. You voted for who you wanted, which I COMPLETELY support. But you have pretended to know what you were voting for, and you did NOT! If you completely understood, and then you made your decision, then I completely support it, but most Americans voted because it was their right, not because they knew WHY!
