Highlands article in today's Enquirer
#1
Just got home and read Marc Hardin's article in today's enquirer. It was a decent article, but what about the pictures? If you didn't read the article, outside the McCoy picture, you would think the article is about Covcath. Hey enquirer, you'll probably be defunct before Covcath beats Highlands again.

I think it was just because its the Covcath gazette and its a rag paper. Bring back the post in print form.

Each week my father, who has a subscription to the Enquirer, cuts out the football articles concerning Highlands and Cov Cath and tapes them side-by-side to a piece of paper. He started doing this at the beginning of the season because of his impression of a lack of coverage for Highlands relative to the coverage for Cov Cath. It is actually pretty amusing to see the results. Usually there is a box score for Highlands, maybe an article that is about a 16th of the page. Articles concerning Cov Cath, whether they win or not, are usually a quarter to a half page.

I think it goes back to people disliking Highlands and maybe as some have stated here, people being bored with Highlands winning.

I agree, the Enquirer is no where close to what the Post was, and the Enquirer has gotten significantly worse since the Post ended. Bring back the Post, and bring back Don Weber

Always loved the football and basketball previews in the post. So much detail, rosters, pics, and polls.

The posters on the Ohio chat lines also talk about the coverage by the Enquirer over there. It seems that they think it is because of a bias against public schools.

I agree that the coverage is really bad in the Enquirer. It was always worse than the Post in my opinion but it has deteriorated since the Post stopped publishing. Not only are the stories significantly less informative but they frequently have factual errors in them. In at least three articles this season they referred to Highlands' stadium as Cecil Dee stadium (it is David Cecil Stadium and has been since the 1950s), say that Highlands 20 state championships (not sure which one they do not count), and have referred to both Highlands and Cov Cath being in class 5A on multiple occasions. It makes me wonder about the other errors in articles about other schools that I am not seeing.
