Final.

Jumpers did a pretty good job stopping the run but the NCC QB Cain seemed to be throwing to open receivers all night. Jumpers could not get stops on third down when they needed them, Cain IMO killed us tonight. Game was 13-12 NCC in the 4th and Somerset had a chance to win even though by most accounts we had been outplayed most of the night.
Congrats to the Breds and good luck next week.

So much for that "Home field advantage"!!!!!

Hard fought game by these seniors, I'm proud of them. Reoccurring theme seems to be personal fouls killing the Jumpers.
Bottom line, these seniors leave Somerset the winningest group to ever go through Somerset High School. Congrats.

Tevin had made the tackle and a NCC player was engaged with him and he was falling he tried to jump over kid he had thrown down for the tackle and pushed off on his him as he tried to jump over him.

Tough break but seeing it I see why it was caused, it wasn't a composure issue just a tough break.

Congrats to New Cath. I thought this was the year Somerset might finally get the big trophy.

Cain has been overlooked all season. What kind of game did Franzen have receiving for the Breds?
11-23-2012, 11:10 PM
^Excellent game for Franzen. Don't know the exact stats but at least 8 catches and a TD.
11-23-2012, 11:11 PM
Franzen seemed to catch 50 passes but it may have been a few less...

Really???? All week long that's all I've been hearing on this site about how good home field advantage was to have and how Key that was to wnning....and I've been telling everyone that HFA would NOT be a factor in this game.....sometimes the truth hurts.....but the BEST team won tonight, Congrats to Somerset On a hard fought battle... Congrats to the Breds on a great win and good luck next week at State!!!

My apologies for the initial reaction, but there were really only three or four people arguing about the home field advantage factor this week. I just didn't really appreciate the comment at the time and I apologize for my response. Good game and good luck to you guys next week.

For all you know it could have played a factor. Had it not been at Somerset it might have been a worse score. I dont apologize. :welcome:

I didnt mean to offend anyone. What class did better? I honestly dont know.

Somerset has been through a lot this season. They've had to endure a lot of things that happened off the field that most teams would not recover from. But instead of hanging their heads, they came out and battled each and every week. Though the Jumpers didn't make it to the "Carpet" like they wanted to, it was still a great season for the 'Purple and Gold.'

I also wanted to give a shoutout to NewCath on coming over to the sideline after the game and shaking hands with Will Hinton. It was definitely a class act and great sportsmanship shown by them.

Keying on Hayes is what I would have done, for sure. What happened in the first half? Did NewCath control the clock? Didn't seem like the updates mentioned SHS offense much. As a side note, NewCath can not continue w the red zone turnovers. It has killed them all year.
11-24-2012, 12:25 AM
NewCath had two fumbles and an interception in the first half.
