Don't know the kid & mean no disrespect to him - but there is no way Harlan had a kid that was more valuable to his team or more talented than Jordan Olinger from Hazard!!!

Where do I start?
First they give COY in one district to a coach that lost everyone of his district games and no regional wins. Then in another joke they don't give Borchers with Cooper the Coy award for that district. He only had the best record in the district with a 9-1 reg season record, but goes into the playoffs and wins regional championship and now headed to the state finals in 5A after winning 4 straight playoff road games and beating #1 and 2 seeds throughout the playoffs so far. But instead the they give the COY award to a coach who only won 1 district game and limped into the playoffs as the 4 seed as well as finishing the season with a losing record.
The awards are a joke, if coaches aren't going to actually vote for the most deserving then do us all a favor and don't vote at all, you make a mockery of the awards and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
The award is voted on before the playoffs.....
Cooper finished third in their district and Cooper returned the most starters from last years team that won the district. To me Borchers under achieved in the district and he is fortunate that his Senior class is able to over come the hole he put them in by having to play on the road for the playoffs. Borchers is just riding the coat tails of this senior class. Hats off to the Cooper Seniors!!
Scott's coach deserved it based on the job that he did from beginning of the season to end. He did not become the HC until a month before the start of the season.

Explain to me how borchhers underachieved inn district?
He had the best regular season record ouut of every team in their district. They were 9-1
Funny how you give alll the credit to the senior class when this team this year is very balanced especially in the skill positions withh botth senior and junior class. (I'll give you a hint, in thee semi final game alone the leadding offensive players in the game were Juniors) We have an iincredible senior and junior class this year, same as last year but the difference last year wass there were several sophomores that contributed big time also with the teams success.
So only losing 1 game all year as well as beating every team the other two teams tied with Cooper to force the 3 way tie lost too qualifies as underachieving. What you may not know aabout this team this year is Cooper wasn't even inn NKY pre season top 10 teams. Yet they beat the 4 teams that they played that were listed in the top 10. So not even being in the areas top 10 before the season started yet is not only listed as #2 inn 5A right now statewide and #8 of every team state wide qualifies them as being underachieving?
Wow, you really missed the mark on that one.

Wow...Parsons wins again? I agree with the above on how you could be the district coach of the year and have a losing record and no district titles...Pburg's DeRossett won 5 previous lost in 11' and then regains with a 3-0 record.
No disrespect to Parsons but a hint of advise to the voters for next year...hey, vote for a coach that actually wins their district games and maybe a title here and there...
Congrats to all the other recipients on a job well done...I don't agree with the Parsons award.

You don't know. I'll agree Olinger, MVP for Hazard and worthy of this as well. However to say that he is more important to his team than Saragas, just showing your bias. Why not just be gracious? Saragas earned this over his years at Harlan, setting passing records, running the offense. Also converting to a more balanced attack this year even though it hurt his stats. Well deserved and such a quality classy kid.

I was trying to be nice & state my opinion, which I am sure many agree with - however with your response - I DO KNOW Football & I have seen both players for 3 years & more than just the Hazard/Harlan games - NO COMPARISON - Olinger is much more deserving!

You have your opinion and it is just that, an opinion not a fact, and you disrespect Olinger by crying for him. I'm sure he will get many awards and deservedly. Why not just show some class?

Olinger is a great football player and tremendous athlete, but Hazard is a good team without him with Whitaker, Jones, Higgins, Meehan etc...
Everything Harlan did went through Saragas. They would have really struggled without him.

B/c PC is a power now thanks to Hines. They are expected to do that. Clark and his Staff took over a MS program who had won 5 games in like 4 years or something. They won more this season then any since 2005, and got to the 2nd round of the playoffs. After only being their for 2 years. Pretty easy to see why he won.
