This game could have been 42-28ish. Fairview moved the ball really well, but the wheels just came off. They were never going to stop Mayfield, but they could have kept the score much more respectable if they didn't keep giving the ball away.

Yes I agree that Fairview could have a scored a couple of more times but I think the score could have been in the 50's to 21. You know we called the dogs off the whole 4th qter. Fairview had no answer for Mayfield running or throwing. We scored 56 on Graves so I knew if we played a complete game it could get ugly. Fairview had a fine season. Hazard musta be real bad this year.

Just another example of an Eastern team who can dominate locally but then they go play a power from out west or up north and they get throttled. If you can't pass or defend the pass you will never compete in football of this age. The coaches in the eastern part of this state are old school and they just don't get the fact that a one dimensional team can't compete with a balanced team. Even if you take an all run team and a all pass team the all pass team will win because the run just can't put up enough points as quick as the pass team.

I'm sorry but Hazard just was not very good. Their line play was just bad. Fairview dominated them on the los. Defensively Hazard couldn't even slow down Fairview. I doubt they would have fared any better with Jackson and company.

Im not saying they would, but hazard secondary would of matched up with Mayfield giving them chances to make int and stop big plays.. Hazard only seen 1 team that run the ball good and that was Clintwood in the 1st game of the season but Clintwood passed the ball well as well. Id say they were 80 % run and 20 % pass..

I see where you are going with it but I can't buy it. Just to big of a difference up front.

It also doesn't surprise that the lack of a kicking game finally came back to bite the eagles. They set Teams up all year in good field position. Finally ran into a team that made them pay for it.

Are you serious? Hazard got thumped by Fairview in every aspect of the game. Hazard would get beat even worse by Mayfield then Fairview did. Just get over it. I don't even think the Hazard team from last year could beat this Mayfield team. Hazard and Fairview are both irrelevent till next year.

and huge CONGRATULATIONS to the mayfield cardinals. the whole team played great, jackson dominated that game as thoroughly as a high school player can dominate a game.

the team was well prepared, highly motivated, and they really put on a great show. fairview was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

for those of you that weren't there, if they post the video on ihigh or somewhere, take a gander, it will be worth your time. Jackson had what? 270 yards rushing and about 265 of them came after a missed tackle.

these seniors are a special group of kids, so thank you to all of them for four great years. you did mayfield proud.

Football is a game of matches up... and Match up Wise hazard matches up better with Mayfield than Fairview did.. Hazard defense was not geared to stop a big ground and pound running game and what not.. Hazard had the same dbs except 1 from last years team who had 5 ints in that game. But to say if they got to meet up again that would of happened id say not because the QB matured in the offseason and prepared his team to win it all.. Mayfield is # 1 until someone beats them next year.. Mayfield will be good but not as good without J. Jackson...

I love the lights of this season and time of year. Not the Christmas lights. The lights of police cars, emergency vehicles, flashing hazard lights from fans cars and trucks. All of this during the victory parade when convoying through Mayfield after winning another State Championship.

Just want to compliment the Fairview kids alot of helping our guys up and respect. Also to the group of Fairview fans that we talked to at the restaurant after the game high class nice folks. Just showe from West to East and North to South this state is filled with great people who love HS sports.

Yeah, those guys from Raceland were enjoying this game as much as the Mayfield Faithful were. I knew it was a bad omen for Fairview when even before the game started we saw a Fairview cheerleader fall to the ground from a lift and then one of their players stumbled and fell during the high leg lift warm ups. As a sports fan and coach, I can be very superstitious. :Shaking:

Thanks to all the congrats... sry if I came off as a di#@ but I called this score.. was just confident in my team... no hazard would not had fared any better for revenge woulda smacked ya in the face.. wow wat a parade.. that was done instiyle.. ten or so sets of blue lights fire trucks an huge lines of cars of fans honking... like at one point I think I counted over hundread cars on the parkway with lights a flashin.... very impressive win by the cards... congrats to fairview on the first ever appearence on stage... if anyone wanting to see highlights I believe at ten the local news is doing a special.. http://www.wpsdtv.com. think thats it.. congrats to all teams on a good year and cant wait to see wat happenes next year for we retain some good key players... maybe a shot at #10

Hazard just have a bad game with Fairview. in the playoffs one bad game then you are at home, and the other game is still playing. like i said in the other thread (that was the wrost game Hazard have play all year)
i knew Fairview couldn't do nothing with Mayfield. i pick Mayfield by 3+ TDS. if Mayfield was playing Hazard, i would pick Mayfield by 10 points.

FBALL admitted in an earlier post he had not seen Mayfield so he had only the view point of seeing Fairfield destroy Hazard a power in 1a in the last 5 years. Based on that he called it like he saw it. Sometimes brutally honest which was respectable. At least he didnt spout off about a teams greatness or superiority with nothing more than a biased opinion.
