14th Region Draw
#31
Overrated Wrote:knott is budlight

pcc is keystone

I'm probably the only person on BGR that will say this, I've missed overrated's post.

Perry by 20 over powell
Cordia by 5 over Breathitt
Wolfe by 3 over Estill
Knott by 12 over Leslie

Semifinals
Perry by 7 over Cordia
Knott by 12 over Wofe

Finals Knott by 3 over Perry
#33
If Perry playes their game then Knott is BlueRibbon and Perry is Bud
#34
The 54th district draw had to put pcc n the hardest bracket w/ knott and cordia being the other best two teams. That's the reason I hate the 54th district blind draw. I'm almost 100% sure that will change next year which is the best thing that could ever happen to this region. I still don't want to count out BC just yet. If they shoot it well they can hang w/ anybody.
#35
The hardest thing for Perry is if they beat Cordia then they will b tired when they play KCC. It will b 2 very tuff games back to back which could give KCC the slight edge they will need. Should b very fun and exciting!!
#36
It's time for things to get real.

Say what you want about the draw...
You have to go undefeated to make it to Rupp and if you're the best team it doesn't matter what order you play teams in.

It doesn't matter who the best team is if you don't come ready to play every night
#37
Yea I think it was rigged too. All the coaches. All the refs. And the khsaa are all conspiring against all the other teams just knott county can win the region. It's so obvious. Something has to be done. Who can we call? What can we do?
#38
Yes I agree with the bud light/ keystone comment. Knott county is classy and talked about by everyone like bud light and perry is keystone. Not talked about as much and kinda skanky. Great point.

Wasn't trying to start controversy stating facts. You would be better sticking to music than ball.

teams. Radio announcers [Killer B ] didn't seem to like that wondering where it came from.

Good possibility Coach Spurlock scratched Mike Hall

I have no idea who scratched who but a good possibility. Would have rather 15th didn't even call it. Too much controversy follows them.

Was just told, (Can't say by who) but that both Trent and Fugate were back for Breathitt....Anyone?
#43
If he did scratch hall that would be bc of the Johnson situation and he works at sheldon Clark Hall is hands down the best official in the 15th, now pcc will get a lower ranked official.

Says the one that is already trying to cite 15th region officials as the cause if Knott actually wins the 14th region. I know you're a PCC fan, but dang lol. At least wait until the regional tournament is over to start blaming the refs.
#45
Sheldon Clark is the favorite over jbs I'd imagine

bradc Wrote:It's a big conspiracy the refs cheat for knott and the draw is rigged

The draw is luck however Knott seems to benefit from controversial calls made by 15th region officials. 2 out of the last 3 years KCC has been sent to the foul line with fouls being called on the other end of the court with little or no time remaining. 3 years ago at Breathitt PCC was holding for last shot yet Knott gets sent all the way to the other end with less than a second remaining for game winning freethrows. No legit ref makes that call unless someone gets bodyslammed and that did not happen. Last year Breathitt was the recipient getting whistled for a foul in the backcourt with little or no time remaining. In both instances the officials were from the 15th region and in both instances KCC benefitted. Anyone who knows anything about basketball knows that you are not going to get a foul called at the end of a game unless you get hammered or the ref has an agenda. It just so happens that we have the 15th regions officials again for the third time in four years I wonder if TH had anything to do with that ? I have said this crap for years and now people are starting to catch on. The 15th region officials are some of the worst in the state and they always seem to send KCC to the line late in games with little or no time remaining not to mention calling the fouls when players are 80 feet from the basket with no chance of scoring. You KCC guys can say what you want but you are delighted to have the 15th region officials.

You obviously haven't been to many knott games if you think that the 15th region officials don't call their way. The reason that everybody thinks that is because it is true.the only people who don't think that are from knott county.
#48
The game last year when knott played breathitt, the breathitt defender was at least a foot from justice when the ref called the foul. When we went back and looked at the film, b.b. king was trying to call a time out and the ref shook his head no, the ref wouldn't give him the time out because he knew what he was going to do.
#49
Not to mention in 2011 when they called a foul 80 feet away from the goal to give knott county two free throws with .8 seconds left. The play before that when Tate cox hit the game tying " three" his foot was a good 6 inches over the line. So anyone who doesn't think the refs call for knott county don't know much about basketball.

Shoulda woulda couldas, I didn't even know 15 th region refs done the tourney

I knew there was something in the works for yesterday but I hadn't heard what come out of it.

Either way Breathitt has to play well to win. Alex and Wes are the two players that have to play well for Breathitt to win. Cordia was the one matchup I wanted to stay away from because of their athleticism. We have played close with PCC twice and took Knott to the wire last year so I would have rather had to play those two and let someone else knock Cordia out.

I'm not a kcc homer, I've continually said Pcc was the favorite in 14th, I have no dog in the fight
#53
Let's stop fussing about refs and just play ball!

Maybe Breathitt County officials kicked the KDE people out and took back control of their district.

I'm glad you're interested in my fan club. First before you become a full fledged member Ball boy for life a few ground rules I require for all my members. You have to get your GED. We'll start with spelling if you want me to tutor you. Life is such a simple word but it is spelled with an i instead of an f. We'll start there and move on to some tougher words.

I know one thing, both recent trips to the state tournament for Knott Central have been fueled by some very questionable foul calls on their opponents within the last seconds of the games. And it was 15th region officials both times. I'm not saying the Knott folks have some kind of inside pull with the 15th region refs, but the calls and phantom calls that they have been the beneficiary of does make it looked suspicious. The call against Breathitt last year was ridiculous, as was the one against Perry Central that determined the game in the only year Dave Fraley coached. Those were game deciding calls that should not have been made. No reputable referee makes such lame, nitpicking calls such as those in the final seconds of a tournament game unless they have an agenda.
#59
Usually they vary the region from one year to the next on which region you get the fact that we get the 15th again tells me someone wants them here. M Hall best referee that's a joke unless he calls your way. He has some bad vices which influence his calling and I know for a fact. Brother Cecil didn't always live at the foot of the cross.

Brian Millam gave this tape out to Knott fans after this win because it was such a great game,so after you made this comment I got it back out to watch..(still an amazing game) but that is a blatant lie..Tate's foot was not over the line. Not even close..6 inches? Ha. Get real. Give the kid some credit- he absolutely took over that game.
