Bears win two in Tennessee
Down to their final strike Saturday, the Harlan County Black Bears found a way to win.
Scotty Bailey doubled, then scored the tying run on a single by Tyler Boggs. Harlan County scored four runs in the eighth inning to defeat Loudon, Tenn., 8-4 to capture two of three games over the weekend in Athens, Tenn.
Bailey led the HCHS offense with a double and four runs scored. Boggs, Anthony Jenkins and Andrew Dozier added singles.
James Bond pitched six innings, giving up four runs (one earned) on five hits with one strikeout and one walk. Conner Leisge pitched two innings with one hit, one strikeout and two walks to earn the win.
Harlan County started its four-run uprising with one out in the eighth inning as Sawyer Fields walked, Dozier singled and Blake Rutherford walked to load the bases. Bond's ground out brought in one run. Boggs was safe on an error to plate two more. Jenkins drove in the final run with a single to right.
The Bears defeated Sweetwater, Tenn., 8-5 earlier in the day despite being limited to two hits, singles by Jenkins and Fields.
Gage Burkhart, Nick Cornett and Tyler Cornett pitched two shutout innings each. Josh Lee and Brendan Rutherford pitched in the seventh inning.
Harlan County (5-2) returns to action Tuesday at Letcher Central.

the Black Bears showed a lot grit and toughness in the win against Loudon

It only shows them playing one game on KHSAA website.

Those kinds of wins can really energize a team for the next game.
I looked at HC schedule for the next 4 or 5 games and they will definitely be tested.
I wonder which game Boggs will pitch in that Somerset, North Laurel, and Corbin string of games?
