56th District Tourney @ Powell County May 20-21

2013 56th District Tournament held at Powell County High School, May 20-21

May 20...5 PM (1) Estill County vs. (4) Owsley County --- Estill won both regular season games (Both were @ Owsley V DH)..15-2 & 11-2

May 20...8 PM (2) Powell County vs. (3) Lee County --- Teams split the regular season...Powell won @ Lee County 12-2....Lee County won @ Powell County 5-3

May 21...8:30 PM....CHAMPIONSHIP.....

Estill County is currently the defending champions and I'm assuming they want revenge on Powell County since Powell mercy ruled them 14-0 couple years ago on Estill's home turf for the district title...

Powell County, as well as all other schools do, look to protect their home turf

Lee and Owsley are looking to make their first regional appearance in forever it seems like.

Estill shouldn't have a problem with Owsley in the first game....Lee and Powell should be fun game to watch..

I will be very surprised if someone other than Estill Co wins District.

Lee County's last regional appearance was in 2002 which is also the last time they won region. They went undefeated in region that year and 24-8 overall I believe. As far as Owsley Co goes, I don't ever remember them making it to region in my lifetime.

Let me correct myself, 2002 was the last time Lee Co won District. They went to region in 2003 - 2008 but, they were the District Runner Up every year in that stretch.

Estill crushed Model tonight, 19-2 in 5 innings. Estill should actually be 9-1 in their last 10 games going into the district title...they shouldn't lose to neither Wolfe (tomorrow) or Owsley on Monday.
