Venezuela offers asylum to U.S. intel leaker Snowden
#1
(CNN) -- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has offered asylum to U.S. intelligence leaker Edward Snowden, the state-run AVN news agency reported Friday, without offering details.
The report came shortly after Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega said he would grant Snowden asylum in his country "if the circumstances permit." Ortega didn't elaborate on his announcement, made during a speech in Managua, except to say his country is "open and respectful to the right of asylum."

Seems things have changed in South America after the US forced Bolivia's Presidential plane to land in Vienna.
Countries are lining up for Snowden.

It looks like you have been named RV's Conservative Buddy of the Week, 'Gut. Of course RV has consistently supported Obama's War on Coal and other energy policies.

If true, what's that got to do with Egypt's overthrow of their leader?

I didn't take that to mean that Gut would be for the US laying down when these oil exporting thug regimes export terror to our shores or our citizens overseas.

Have any terrorist came from Egypt?

RIUTG posted drill baby, drill, and you "liked" his post. Your Great Leader would not be happy and it is inconsistent with your support of every action that Obama has taken against the coal, oil, and gas industries. Did you read the post? (It was fairly short and to the point.)

Am I allowed to like parts of his post, and not others. But, I am for drilling for our own oil as long as they do it responsibly. We have the Marcellas and Utica shale. I say go for that. The US is on track to be the 2nd largest producer of oil, nudging past Russia. By 2035(some say 2020) we are on track to be the top oil producer. And we get natural gas to boot, in the same area.

DEFINE STUPIDITY BY EXAMPLE

(1) - A guy is stranded on the roof while flood waters are still on the rise and refuses to get in the rescue boat and save himself.

(2) - America sits on hundreds of years worth of fossil fuels while her currency crashes and her people starve and suffer for lack of jobs and cheap energy sources. Citing fictitious environmental concerns.

(3) - Obama refuses to allow the Keystone Pipeline to be built. Citing fictitious environmental concerns.

They are in the process of getting that. We are going to be a net exporter of oil by 2015, overtake Russia in oil production by around 2020, and be the #1 oil producer by 2035. Marcellas and Utica are making America the top producers of oil and natural gas.

Fine, that's great news. When are we going to lift the drilling moratorium? When are we going to back up the regulations which have only one purpose. That of destroying the coal industry. “The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed,” Schrag told the Times, more specifically. Mr Obama; “So if somebody wants to build a coal power plant they can, it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.” And finally, when are we going to start construction of the Keystone Pipeline?

What moratorium? They are drilling wide open in the Marcellas and Utica shale. Why do we need to drill the Gulf if we've found more than we could ever use in PA,OH, and WV They are drilling, and building plants wide open up there. Why do you keep bringing up the same "coal" talking points? KY and WV haven't been able to compete in coal production for some time. Scrubbers on powerplants are hurting coal. Cheaper western coal is hurting the coal fields. Natural gas powerplants are hurting coal. New nuclear powerplant production is killing coal. Obama didn't have to do anything to kill coal. They've helped kill themselves. Maybe some coal miners should retrain, and move to the three drilling states. They are hiring wide open up there.

^ Why do we need Canada's oil when we've got plenty of our own? We are going to be the #1 producer of oil in the world.

Why you ask? Thanks for giving me the opportunity to post the truth again.

“The one thing the president really needs to do now is to begin the process of shutting down the conventional coal plants. Politically, the White House is hesitant to say they’re having a war on coal. On the other hand, a war on coal is exactly what’s needed,” Schrag told the Times, more specifically. As for the pipeline. The fact that the president values his own agenda so much that he would run over the will of the people, denying them the high paying jobs and the associated spin off industry is onerous. I told you he'd never allow the thing to be built as long as he'd anything to say about it. You denied that he was standing in the way during that conversation. And, then there is that elephant in the room. If the Suez goes down for the west due to the increasing likelihood of civil war, what will take up the slack, how would we make up that difference? Not building the pipeline is the direct result of the presidents' own opinion which, he reiterated as recently as June 25, 2013;

"I know there’s been, for example, a lot of controversy surrounding the proposal to build a pipeline — the Keystone pipeline, that would carry oil from Canadian tar sands down to refineries in the Gulf. The State Department is going through the final stages of evaluating the proposal. That’s how it’s always been done.

But I do want to be clear. Allowing the Keystone pipeline to be built requires a finding that doing so would be in our nation’s interest. And our national interest will be served only if this project does not significantly exacerbate the problem of carbon pollution. The net effects of the pipeline’s impact on our climate will be absolutely critical to determining whether this project is allowed to go forward. It’s relevant."

^ Again, why do we need Canada's oil when we are the 3rd largest producer of oil at present, and soon will be the #1 producer? Step away from the republican talking points and look at real life. The Marcellas and Utica shale has removed the need for buying Canada's oil. We have plenty of our own. Are you proposing we spend money with them that we don't need to? Are you proposing we keep Canada's oil workers working, and lay our off in the "shale" regions?

West Virginia and Kentucky are the second and third leading coal producing states in the US. They are producing coal despite Obama's war on coal. Thousands of unemployed coal miners would not agree with your perception of reality, as evidenced by the overwhelming rejection of Obama in November, 2012 by both Kentucky and West Virginia. I think that the people who were working in the mining industry when Obama assumed office 5-1/2 years ago know better than you where the blame lies for their unemployment. In fact, I know that they know more about the industry in which they work than you do.
