Results From Voting On Playoff Format
#1
As most of you know, the majority of teams around the state voted to keep the playoff format at 4 teams per district. The KHSAA, earlier this year, gave teams the option to vote if theyd like to keep four teams per district or minimize that to three teams, or even two teams.

Here are the results by district, and lower on the page, it shows how each school voted.

Heath, Lone Oak, and Reidland did not vote because they were consolidated into McCraken (sp?) Co. this year.

I find it VERY interesting that Single A voted to go to a 2 team play off. With every other class voting for 4 team playoff.

I find it VERY VERY VERY interesting that Whitley and McCreary voted for a 2 team playoff, Corbin, Knox Central, Lynn Camp and Williamsburg for a Three team playoff.

Personally, I like the 2 team play off, but I think if you don't go with a 2 team playoff, it should be a four team playoff. I am not a fan of the three team playoff format.

I was a bit surprised to see St. X vote for the 4 team and Trinty for a 2 team playoff, I would have thought they both would have been in favor of a 2 team playoff with an extra regular season game.

If all the teams that voted for 3 had voted for 2, there still wouldn't have been enough. Would only have totaled 92 votes to the 118 that voted for 4 teams.

Call me crazy but, I like it the way it is.

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

I wish that it would go back to two teams per district in the playoffs. Most of the first round games are horrible. They should add one regular season game and top two teams make the playoffs.

Powell County voted for a 4-team playoff from each district while Estill County voted for a 2-team playoff. Strange, figured Estill would have voted for 4.

So Bath County, Bourbon County, Garrard County and Powell County voted for 4 team playoff while Estill County and Western Hills voted for 2 team playoff.
