This is what i expected from this game.
Rock is still trying to find thereselves just like the last few years.

MS has the potential to be very good.
Back in December i said PC and MS would battle it out for the district title, and i think thats going to be right.

Harris started slow he didn't do much almost the whole first half then right before half he ran a punt back for a td then proceeded to absolutely go off with 5 rushing touchdowns and he didn't even play the last 8 mins this kid is a stud.......southern and their fans rushed the field after the win and took their hammer to midfield hit the rock logo and stomped on it like it or not they made a statement

I have always had a soft spot for Rockcastle County.

With Larkey at Harlan it is safe to assume the glory days of Rockcastle County are a thing of the past unless they drastically change their program and reinvest in their feeder system.

No doubt they can be a competitive team.. but it is more of a testament to how good of a coach Larkey is.

Anyone got stats for Damien Harris tonight?

I think he was somewhere around 180 or so I know he had touchdown runs of 16,55,50,31,4 and a 65 yard return plus a 2pt conversion

Southern won there championship tonight by the way they acted it was a super bowl . Pathetic way to act but after getting whipped for 21 straight times I guess they don't know any better

No handshake line 2 teams got together at midfield it almost got nasty!!!!! I understand the win I mean it was huge first time ever I don't really mind them rushing the field but if they broke the rock that's uncalled for no place for that

Its even more fun to beat someone down and act like the game never happened to brag about it. It stings worse IMO.

So what's the deal? Rockcastle fans mad because another they lost? Because they rushed the field? They took a hammer to the rock? Why was the rock at midfield to begin with? Shouldn't it be over where the players come out for the game? Is Madison Southern the only team to do it? I'm not tryin to be a smartass I'm just wondering.

Rock is just not the rock of old. If Parkey isn't in the hot seat he soon will be.

I have no problem with fans rushing the field, but if they did break the rock that is just plan dumb. And uncalled for.

From what I saw the parents and kids jumped the fence from the stands and ran out to midfield where the Rock boys were lining up to shake hands. They started spitting on the logo midfield and I heard some idiot hit it with a hammer. The boys started raising cain and I heard parents were baiting them for a fight. I was walking out and they all started hollering and about five troopers got in the middle. There were some idiot kids as well from Southern doing that stuff and I know one of them pretty well. He was a punk in middle school and he's a punk now. I won't mention his name, but he took a cheap shot on a Rock kid with three minutes to go and he was one of the first out on the field with the idiots and the sledgehammer. I actually had cousins and friends from MS coming up and apologizing to ME. I told them there wasn't anything to apologize to ME about and that I'm sure we have a few idiots on our sidelines as well. I didn't get my dander up to much...but if a parent had come over the direction of the kids trying to start something, I guess I would have had to used my good leg. What ignorance! It was later I heard one of the idiots had ran over with that sledge hammer and hit the big rock on the path leading to the lockers.
About the game now....Rockcastle did a good job of holding Harris in check first half from what I saw minus the punt return. Rockcastle was up going in at the half 7-6. MS started wildcatting to Harris in the second half which gave the kid time to view his running lanes and take off. He just outran everyone around the sides. I don't know why Rockcastle didn't adjust to that because I didn't see much in their passing game and it was obvious where the bread and butter play was. They have Harris around the ends and Linville the QB scrambling around and up the middle occasionally from what I saw. If you contain Harris to the center, it seems pretty elementary. Rockcastle did that the first half, didn't adjust to the wildcat which gave the Harris boy another blocker around the end and he just jets for the endzone. When Southern got up by two touchdowns it just snowballed on Rockcastle. That was my take on it.

I have all ways said its never a rivalry till both teams have won a game. Well its a ravalry now. wish these two was still in the same district/class. these two schools wont be able to play ping pong against one another with out extra security. There is nothing wrong with students coming onto the field, but all the other stuff was uncalled for and was asking for problems. the Rockets took a good shot and trust me, even tho it dont look good now there are brighter days coming. hopefully they keep this game going.

Rusty, they were 0-17 all-time against Rockcastle the whole school and community was on cloud 9, so it wasn't as big of a deal as you are making it. Rockcastle has done A TON of negative acts over that win streak that were disrespectful so this was mild...and if you need examples I can give those...it just came full circle. Be glad that maybe this can begin to be a rivalry everyone but Rockcastle wants.

Harlan Co. will have the manpower to put the clamps on him. Rock's DB's are also recievers on offense and were running routes the entire game and then having to defend as well. They lost a step or two during the second half trying to cut him off. I would have sold out my pass defense for defending the outside when they started wildcatting after the second touchdown. The undersize Rockcastle lines did a very good job defending the middle and blocking for McPhetridge. Southern was considerably bigger on the line than Rock was. I counted an eight count once before Corey had to scramble. He had time to throw and hit some receivers in the hands. I feel better about the team than I did earlier this summer, even with the loss. They'll win a few.
