Madison Southern 41 Rockcastle County 13
#31
Well as a former player at Southern let me list the things ROCKCASTLE HAS DONE to Southern during this streak...

1. Hung a Black VOODOO doll of Jonas Hill in 1993
2. Used the bathroom in the visiting locker room in 1995 and turned the heat to full blast
3. Painted the Rock symbol on MSHS front door at the school 1996
4. Spray painted ROCK in the WEST endzone late at night before they play 1996.

That's just a few examples, I witnessed them all. I do not like how you act like this was horrible. It was 17 year olds getting pay back because 5 former players came back this week and spoke to the kids about these things. Those boys were in a frenzy to play and they knew the history. So it may have been a little classless, but that was 20 years of payback for classless acts.

The most recent thing you listed there was 17 years ago. Half of the kids on these teams were not even born then. Your excuse for Madison Southern's behavior just doesn't fly. Congratulations on ending the steak but show some class. You can celebrate without taunting and vandalizing someone's field.
#33
I like to see kids and parents celebrate after a huge win. There is no place in the game for those kinda actions. That said I remember about 20 years ago when Rock and Larkey played and beat Clay Co. at Clay the Rock Players tore the Tiger Paw out of the middle of Clay's field. Karma Baby it will come around.

The rock on the sidelines is almost a county monument. It matters far more than any school trinket.

Pap ur right ms is the harris show without him they are in trouble.

Should he be in trouble, 2 straight terrible losing seasons. Does the administration even care? I think that no one fear the rock anymore and the program has slipped a WHOLE lot.
Does anyone even care anymore that rock looses.

It sounds like payback for the daddy's who never got over the loss more than payback for the players. The fact is that kids only know what the coaches and parents teach them, and last night showed this all too well. I saw maybe the biggest crowd I had ever seen at a Rock game last night, and with more people come more idiots. I couldn't believe some Rock fan idiots didn't retaliate, I guess we are becoming more civil in our older days. Rock was ahead 13-7 in 3rd qtr and looked good up till then. There were some scouts there watching Harris and the refs called numberous taunting penalties on ROCK after some big defensive plays that turning 10 yd losses into 15 yards gains (2 in a row at one point putting them in the red zone) that stopped the momentum and changed the game. These were not for late hits or anything, just for celebrating after the stop in the backfield. Harris just outrun the defense in the last of the 3rd qtr and the 4th qtr. Rock seemed to lay down and give up which pissed me off more than any of the other stuff. The score really is not indicative of the game, it was not a lopsided blowout until late in the game. If you can keep Harris from getting to the outside, you can beat MS easily. He is fast, but is a straight line runner, and doesn't break tackles easily.

If you witnessed all these, why didn't you try to stop them? I wouldn't let somebody do that to my school if I saw them doing any one of these things.

You do know some coaches send props to their own school and say it is from the opposing school to pump up the players and raise their moral don't you? You need to not take everything that happened 20 years ago to heart. Let it go, you will live longer.

Oh ok, so I guess hanging a BLACK VOODOO doll with number 25 (Jonas Hill) on it is something to forget? Or using the bathroom with the heater on is respectful or class...I think not. The next several year Rockcastle better not play Southern cause there is more talent coming. So 1 Madison Southern incident and I do agree they shouldn't have done that, but like someone stated earlier...KARMA...and it's coming back to haunt for the last 20+ years. Do what we did the last 17 times and take your loss and come back and play again. For GOODNESS sake, you all are 17 and 1 all-time against Southern, but we won the most recent. I look forward to next year.

Man you have issues. It's bad that happened to someone else (not you) in 1996, but you gotta let it go. You do know you graduated twenty years ago and aren't part of the class that won don't you? Stop living other peoples lives and try to make the most out of yours, instead of hating "people" for things they may have done when they were young and stupid. I am not going to argue with you anymore. Good luck to MS the rest of the season. Good luck to the Harris kid he can really scoot.

John,
The last thing I'll say is that I do not agree with breaking of anything. However, I still have never heard anybody from Rockcastle EVER say what they did was regrettable and that thosenthingsnwere wrong. I will say this about the game Damien doesn't lack toughness but his vision is not 100% close to where it should be. Rockcastle did a great job of containing him in the first half because what few holes he did have he missed and took some big shots. Southern might be a top 10 team in 5A by the time the seasons end, others have to step up and a passing game has to do its part. Southern is also a good tackling team.

Parents should never celebrate anywhere but in the stands period!!!! That being said I work in this area some and the Rock fans rub the streak in there face every chance they got and I'm sure that Southern players and fans have had about all they could take.
#42
Those parents should not have been on the field taunting high school kids wanting them to fight. I don't give a tinkers da*n what you think about that......it was wrong and pitiful. The idiot that broke the rock on the sideline should have his momma and daddy pay for the damages. It should have happened to the Rockcastle kids that vandalized in the past with all the old stuff that happened at Southern too...but it should of happened the other night when all the witnesses and the cops being out there. When your forty plus years old, you don't run onto field after a win and threaten to fight high school age kids that are lined up to shake hands. And if you don't agree to that....that's a daggone shame. And shame on you....there is no logical excuse for behavior like that. That is why the kids act like fools...because they are learning it from poor parenting.

I have watched Rock play for many many years, and have seen them win and lose with class.

I have watched Madison Southern a couple of times and both times I was amazed. One time at Southern, the visiting team had to be escorted off the field after a fight in the hand shake line. It is unfortunate but one the visiting teams players from that fight still carries a scare where he was hit in the face with a helmet from a MS player. Now that was a long time ago but it sure makes you dread going to Berea to play or even have them come to your place and play.

Like I said in my earlier post to some friends from Berea that were apologizing to ME, Rockcastle has probably got a few dingalings in the crowd too. I know for a fact that they do. If that had happened up in Berea though, the Berea Police and the rest of Madison Co.'s finest would have had a detective on the job and would have made some parent pay for the damages. That's the only thing some parents understand is financial penalties and then parents of kids that would act like that would think their baby was getting picked on. I'm the child of a former teacher and I know that the biggest idiot kids are fruit that falls from the biggest idiot trees. That's a fact.

Kudos to MS on the program changing win bahahhaha

Smart move taking little ole Bourbon County off the schedule to beat up on the worse Rockcastle team in the last 30 years, then celebrating like idiots. I would be tired of that whipping first game every year too!!!
#46
I drove down to Rockcastle's field today...that Rock is still there...so relax everybody...Good Lord

And you guys are the parents who raised kids to hang BLACK VOODOO dolls on scoreboards, crap in the opposing teams floor, and like a few others have posted on here we weren't the only guys you did stuff to like that...it sucks when the tables are turned...like a Rockcastle player who you all love down there once told me...all's fair in love and ROCK football...it finally came back to haunt.

Using things that happened 20 years ago to justify poor behavior now is just pathetic. Heck, using things that happened 2 years ago to justify the poor behavior of your players and fans is pathetic. Nothing that happened in the past gives fans or players a license to act like idiots. Learn to play the game with class--win or lose. None of the players that did any of the things 20 years ago were on the field Friday night, neither was the head coach that was in charge back then. To use any of that is just making excuses for your fans and players poor behavior period. I'm not a fan of either team but reading your posts makes me hope that Whitley County hangs 60 on you.

No no no...I'm not justifying anything those players have done. All I am saying is that NOBODY and I mean NOBODY EVER called Rockcastle classless when all those things were done, and then for 20 years Madison Southern has been called WEAK, SOFT, 2nd RATE, LOSERS, by people who WERE at that game Friday. I do not agree with the parents coming on the field, and that was stupid, but its also stupid when Rockcastle players, former players, and the Mt. Vernon community want to belittle another community, and the way those people acted were wrong as well. Again, with all that being said nobody was hurt and that's all that matters. I will bet you nothing like that will happen again, and I did go to Rockcastle's field this afternoon and the "ROCK" was fine no matter what anybody says.
#53
I just hope Madison Southern's dominance on the field and the actions of their fanbase motivates the Rockets to play better. The Rock being damaged was bad but what was worse was the beat-down on the field. Take pride in your game and your county. Stop being spanked on the field.

Wow.....what can I say about this stuff.....?

Maybe your kid was the one with the hammer?....Maybe that is why you went to look at the rock down there? Who knows? FYI...I played football at Berea ....I'm not from Rockcastle County. My Berea bus got rocked when I was a freshman and a window broken out coming back from Rockcastle County. The cops had to come into this one. My junior year someone slung a milkshake at the bus and sprayed it all down the side and in the windows when our police escort left us while we were going up the hill on the interstate. I've also been hit with a rock thrown by a Madison HIGH school fan after we beat them in Richmond. I'm not looking to get back at anyone. I don't care...what's in the past is done. I've got cousins and friends associated with Madison Southern football and friends that COACH there. I KNOW more than half the upper classmen that play for Southern and think a HECK of lot of a few of the players on that team. MY kid and one of the Southern players talked a few times during the game the other night. MY kid grabbed OUR kids and pulled them back from the ADULTS that wanted to fight them and pulled them toward the endzone so as not to get someone hurt or kicked out of the next two games.
What I said was; No adult should try to start a fight on a field with a teenager that is going to shake hands after the game. And no IDIOT should come out with a hammer and hit the center of the field without thinking he is starting a war. Much less damage something that the kids of that school hold sacred which may just come back on them later. You think that some of those little redneck kids aren't thinking about retaliation now?? I'm sure they are. What good would that do? According to your defense of the actions of the other night....Rockcastle had it coming.....they done something wrong 17 years ago! They made a ......*shudder*.... black voodoo doll and hung it up. I think Mr. Hill is doing fine now isn't he? I believe he is a succesful preacher and a good guy who probably hasn't thought of that past ignorance in some time. I don't think that mess from years ago affected him that much and being a preacher I'm sure he isn't hating everyone from Rockcastle County now. What happened to me didn't affect ME...made me mad at the time...but I got through it. I look back on the past wrongs I received and said just what I said about those fools that acted like fools the other night. I'll quote myself ".....what idiots" I'd say Mr. Hill feels the same way about those that did that with the doll....."what idiots".
Oh yeah...you can go back and look at all my past quotes about Southern.....I've never called them pitiful or losers. Mostly supported them and my cousins who played there. It's done easy enough...click on the name and find ALL of my past posts. Especially the early posts from 2010 and 2011.

I remember a Madison Southern player hitting a Whitley County player in the face with a helmet back in the 90's after the game as he went to shake his hand. hope it doesn't happen again.

Much to do about nothing. As a fan of neither Rock or Southern, both have their share of events. Rock you got beat... let it go. Southern act like you have been there before (even thou in this case you hadn't). Good luck to both teams Friday.

I remember that also BUT I know summer of 12 I watched Whitley and MS play summer basketball and all their players were classy and played hard. In baseball in spring of 13 Whitley played MS at Southern and again their players and fans were great. I can also say that about the times Whitley has played Rock that I've seen over last couple years.

If Rocks QB had someone to catch the ball they would be tough
